Slipping (new) Clutch, Solved...
I've been barking up the wrong tree on this one. After taking back the original slipping new clutch, installing another slipping new clutch, I finally ordered a remaned flywheel and received it today.I could tell the second I took it out of the box that the step was WAY shallower. The machinest who turned my flywheel assured me it was to specks. But, it wasn't. The step is ,just eyeballing it with a straight edge and ruler, at least 1/8th maybe closer to 3/16th of an inch deeper on the botched, resurfaced flywheel than on the new, remaned flywheel. With so much practice, I can now pull the engine out of my wagon in about thirty minutes. Thanks Machinest Man...I want my $30 back.

flywheel question
I'm not sure which of the two 4wd flywheels is right for me. (OHV or OHC ???)Maybe someone can take a look at the link and let me know. I have a EA81, D/R 4 speed in a '80 wagon. Thanks. I'm posting from a palm. I hope it works. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?parttype=267&ptset=A&searchfor=Flywheel+%2f+Flexplate

Front Wheel Seals?
Thanks for the Quick response. I'm interested to see what seal they have for me. Suppose to come in today.

Front Wheel Seals?
On my '80 4wd wagon, are the inner and outer, front, wheels seals the same? I bought everything to do one wheel, yesterday, except the inner seal from autozone. (The inner seal had to be orderd, picking it up today). I just removed the two seals and bearings and the seals look identical. Any ideas?

Rear wheel bearing price?
Oops. I guess the fwd has the inner and outer. Here's a link to what you may need. http://www.partsamerica.com/productdetail.aspx?MfrCode=SKF&MfrPartNumber=GRW142&PartType=186&PTSet=A

Rear wheel bearing price?
Partsamerica.com is usually really cheap. They want $105 for a set of inner and outer bearings and a few dollars for the seals.

Whats the deal w/these Catalytic Converters?
Yea, I thought it was something like that. Seems I saw something on the news about them being valuable to certain people. This county is not a smog/deq county. No emissions test so they shouldn't be that important. So long as they dont touch the one on my project car, everybody will stay healthy.

Whats the deal w/these Catalytic Converters?
I have had two diffrent guys stop at my house and ask if they could have the cats off my '84 parts cars. They must be worth something for scrap 'cause they didnt seem the least bit interested in the almost new axles in one of my parts cars. I don't think they were Subaru guys at all.

My Power Steering Dilema.
Well, I tried to move the aluminum fan over in place of the black fan, but its too wide for that spot. It hits the crank pully. I guess I'll go with the black fan right where it is. Is the black fan adaquite for cooling? It just doesn't seem as hardy as the primary aluminum one.

New (old) sube, need help
On the loose exhaust headers..If your just trying to tighten the bolts and they are no longer grabging, pull them out. Chances are they are the threaded studs with nuts rusted in place. Break loose the nut, unscrew it out to the end of the stud, put a second "jam" nut on it and re-insert into the head. Maybe the extra lenght will find new threads. Maybe not. I just got a set of Pugeot wheels just like yours. Hey, Ya wanna sell a couple of those Lug Nuts? Just Kidding.

My Power Steering Dilema.
I have this Dual fan radiator from a a/c car that I have been using. The secondary fan doesn't do anything 'cept sit there.( I don't have A/C,it's not hooked up) I'm adding P/S to my '80 wagon and am now trying to bolt on the pump. The aluminum fan is in the way of the pump pully. The aluminum one is the one that is functional. Should I remove the black fan and move the aluminum one into its spot, so I have room for the pump? Or, should I remove the aluminum one all together and wire up the black one? Or, does it really matter? The pump is just laying there not bolted up yet. Any ideas?

What do ya think about this steering?
I dont know. I talked to Albie just a couple days ago and even though he never came right out and said they were done for good, he did say they were concentrating all there efforts on machine guns and that soob lifts "were so long ago"
-
What do ya think about this steering?
The lift install went pretty good actually. Ive have some camber issues that may need attention. I want to actually drive her around a little before I get to concerned about that.( I had the motor out, too.) This steering thing is what is most concerning. The input to the new power steering box is too close to the axle. It will rub. Ill get some Pic's
-
What do ya think about this steering?
Im still a few days away from driving/testing the steering. If it doesn't rub the axle or bind, I guess i'll leave it. It is kinda scary looking thou. If someone could snap a pic of a AA/power steering shaft setup on a ea81 car, i'd sure like to see it.

Clutch cable maxed
If your at the end of your adjustment on the old and new cable, and everything else is fine, I would think that maybe your clutch components are worn out. More than likely the friction disk. Also, the fingers on the pressure plate are week. Is your clutch slipping?

What do ya think about this steering?
I finished the AA, 4" lift and am now trying to work out some of the bugs. One being the steering. The Kit I bought was NOS with a manual steering shaft. I pulled the engine, added power steering and installed the lift. I called AA today and they dont have a power steering shaft or anything else related to Subaru lifts. But if you need a Maching Gun...anyway, this is what I came up with. The input shaft to the steering gear is awful close to the drive shaft boot. So close it may rub occasionally. Anyone got a better idea? Thanks.

Buying A Lift Today.
Hey Sean, thanks for the info on the steering joint.Yup, more than likely I'll just order the piece from AA. (maybe order one of the BMG's while im at it) First I'm gonna install the power steering and then the lift and go from there.

Which Weber Is This?
Thanks for all the info,Guys. I looked at that site last night but didn't realize they were so close to me. I can drive there in about a half hour. I called, no answer. Closed for the holiday. I'm headin up there on Tuesday for a idle jet and its holder and a rebuild kit. Thanks again.

Which Weber Is This?
Thanks for the link. You are right. It was not missing the accelerator pump. In the original pic, its just a blanked off spot where the pump could have gone, but the pump is on the other side. I went and bought it. He said he will have others for sale,$50 also, that he has to find. They are moving apparently. He's an old Datsun guy. Heres his CL link. http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/pts/410372735.html The only thing I see missing on this carb is in pic #1. It is a screw that had a rubber o ring. The o ring is still there. The screw is gone. Anyone know where I could get one? Or,what it's called specifically?

Which Weber Is This?
It looks like the accelerator pump is missing. I'm thinking its probly more of a headache than anything else.

Which Weber Is This?
Thanks for the reply. Im sure it probably needs a rebuild. Will there be some Model Numbers on the Carb somewhere? Thanks.
