Those Red 4WD Factory Decals...
Awesome! I just need the one, so won't take both of them. Someone else might want it. But I'd like to reserve one. No problem on the shipping cost. Would you please PM me?

What Size Stabilizer Bar??
For an '86 4WD wagon, EA82 1.8. 16, 18 or 19mm? What other things does one need to know to order the right size?

Those Red 4WD Factory Decals...
Someone may. Mine is so faded out I don't think I could give you a good representation.

Those Red 4WD Factory Decals...
Thanks, I had already looked at those. I was wanting the original style red one. Doesn't have to be OEM but close enough so that it would be hard to tell the difference. I suppose there is some patent thing on the original style.

Those Red 4WD Factory Decals...
...that go on the back of the 86's (and probably a few other years as well), are there any of them available anymore? I know; HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH!!!!

Over-run backfiring, what makes Subaru's do it so much?
The anti-backfire valve is bad?

Finally new tires (and rims) w/pix!
How about photos of the tires' tread?

removing slight surface rust from cylinder walls?
Turtle Wax Chrome Polish. Removes the rust and leaves a very light protective film behind after you buff it clean. Honest!

86 subaru wagon gone crazy
Sounds like it needs an exorcist.

Thank you very much. Check your IMs.

A Little Mishap In the Snow Today
I hope so. That would be wonderful.

A Little Mishap In the Snow Today
I'm in WA. Fairly close to Portland. I'm striking out looking for parts. I'm a single woman, somewhat disabled, retired senior citizen. Don't get around to the wrecking yards much. Couldn't pull anything myself if I found the part(s).

A Little Mishap In the Snow Today
I suppose anything legal can be shipped. Just thought it might be a pain for anyone not a professional packager/shipper to get one ready to ship. I wouldn't expect that from a regular guy/gal not in the biz. I'd be willing to pick one up if it was within reasonable driving distance from me. After our snow is gone, of course.

A Little Mishap In the Snow Today
I sure hope so. How do I go about it, besides asking in the "Parts Wanted" forum? I figured it covered more than just the one year. I am in SW Washington. I know a bumper can't be shipped.

A Little Mishap In the Snow Today
86 GL 4WD wagon This is the headlamp and the side lights. Side lights are crunched. Haven't inspected the assemblies yet. The bumper is just the stock front bumper for an 86 GL wagon, and possibly fits some other years' models?

A Little Mishap In the Snow Today
Went into a slow skid today and hit a car parked on my street. Punched a hole in my front bumper and smashed the lenses of my left turn signal and side light. Need to replace all. I put an ad for the bumper in the "Stuff Wanted" section. Just thought I'd throw it out here too, unless that's not allowed. Can anyone help?

My New Carb experiences (very surprised)
OK, thank you very much again.

My New Carb experiences (very surprised)
Thank you for the alerts. It won't be going on the car for a few weeks, definitely after Jan. 1st. We're snowed in here in SW WA and it's still coming down. I won't be putting it on myself but will have my mechanic's shop do it. Still cheaper than getting the one on my car rebuilt. I will make a note of what I should be aware of from your post and give it to my mechanic.

My New Carb experiences (very surprised)
Hope I have the same good luck as you did. I just received my new/rebuilt Hitachi from the same ebay seller today.

split headlights, where to get them ?
Right. I was just saying that those came on the GL. Not sealed beam, but the composite style. Bulbs can be changed.

Bitter Cold
My '86 5-spd. 4WD wagon runs fantastic in cold weather. It was "born" in Denver but lived at 1000' higher than Denver. It cut its teeth on CO blizzards and icy roads. We are just about snowed in here in SW Washington state, daytime temps in the 20s where I live and I took it out yesterday all afternoon, to let it have some fun. Let it warm up for a 10 minutes while I cleared off the windows and lights. The choke's a bit sticky but it's been that way for years, even in the hottest weather. It did super, always runs cool, doesn't leak a drop of anything. It gets 25 mpg on the interstate, even down south in Portland's stalled traffic, and it's all stock, so I'm thinking it must be pretty happy mechanically. Brand new Michelin all-weathers on it, not studded, not chains, and they work great too. Am I bragging about my baby? You bet!

This Is Probably a Dumb Question
Only I never gave it any thought before. In the mid-1980s, did Subaru make a 4WD automatic transmission? An on-demand 4WD with auto?

Rock Auto closeout, EA81 cars
That seems like a very good deal that they have on the Fram oval air filters - $5.71 ea. I should by a couple to have when it's replacement time again.
