  1. Ya I was thinking about the Hella 500 Driving/Fog light. I was also thinking about converting the headlight to HID but after some researches, I found my lens are probly not good for it (I have the OEM). I might just go with the AUX light:grin:
  2. So, living in Alaska and the snow is about to come, I'm thinking to add some light on my OBS. I am battling between the OEM that mounts in the bracket under the headlight, or go with those after market ones that mount on the bumper. Anyone can give me some insight? Appreciated! Vincent
  3. No offense, but he just said he got some off-brand gasket on ebay for some $75:) I'm guessing the gasket is leaking again, or, hopefully, just the T-stat
  4. From what I heard, AT in Subarus are a pain. Torque Blind and stuffs. If I am getting another subaru I'll make sure it's a MT.
  5. When I did my T-belt change on my 98 EJ22 I went with all OE. Belt, all pulleys, tensioner, WP w/ seals. It cost me just under $500:eek:
  6. Anyone has heard of them? I just ordered one for my motorcycle and I heard good results from them. If they do what they advertise, I might get a set for my 98 Impreza OB. Anyone knows what size should I get? For those who doesn't know what Speed Bleeder is, it's a bleeder screw which replace the OE on the caliper. It has a one-way valve inside so when you pump the brake fluid goes out but air doesn't goes back it. http://www.speedbleeder.com/
  7. So I have a 1998 Imp w/ about 187k on it. It has a EJ22. Everytime I start the car it will make some ticking noise. Once it's warm up the noise is gone. Do you think it's time for an adjustment? Thanks
  8. How many Cam sprocket you have on each side? If it's a 2.5 it should have 2 (up and down) on each side and a total of 4.
  9. Hi all, Thinking about getting this tool. http://ultimatetoolco.com/drainplugs.aspx I know the rear diff bolt can be done without it but I'm wondering if this tool will prevail over the 1/2". Thanks Vincent
  10. http://endwrench.com/main.php?smPID=HTML::home.html Google search in .12 second
  11. There are some home made tools that people use. Go do a search on nasioc.com you may find something. But if you wanna go the OEM route, this site is the place to go. DO expect a little spendy. I got my CAM lock tool for 2.2 for a little less than $100. http://subaru.spx.com/index.asp
  12. will they work on my 5MT and rear diff? And yes, the FMS said Aluminum Gasket so it's probably a washer.
  13. Hi all, I called the dealership today to see if they have the gasket for the transmission drain plug and the rear diff. drain plug. But the guy said I don't need a new one. However, when I read the FSM for 97 OBS it says ALWAYS use a new one. Anyone knows what should I do? ------------------------------------ 98 OBS 184k 5MT
  14. Thanks, but I already got the Valvoline synpower for the transmission already. I'm just looking for the rear diff. oil
  15. Been reading many posts here and other forums. Just got myself 4qt of valvoline synpower 75W-90 since it's readily available @ Schuck's up here. Was going to get the rear diff. oil but wanna ask for some opinion. 1st q: Schuck's here has Mobil 1® Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90, Valvoline 80W-90 Durablend, As well as dino Valvoline 80W-90s. Which would be a better candidate for rear diff.? 2nd q: What kind of both is the rear diff. use? It seems like it's round with a square in the middle. What do you guys call it? FYI, my car is 98 OBS 5MT with 184k miles. Thanks for your help! Vincent
  16. Hi all, I've been looking around for a gear & rear diff. oil change in my 1998 OBS 5MT. I've come across with this deal. Anyone has any success with this brand of oil? Also, I read that my car needs 3.7 qt for the trans and .8 for the diff. The deal only has 3 liters for the 5MT, will that be enough? Thanks for any inputs! Vincent
  17. 2nd page on this board "Identifying new-style EJ25 Head Gaskets?" http://allwheeldriveauto.com/subaru-head-gasket-problems-explained/
  18. Hi all, I am wondering if anyone here has and experience using an 98 OBS (or around that year) to tow something? Accoring to car101.com it says it can tow 1700lbs but I'm more into real world experience. Any ideas? Thanks Vincent
  19. Hi all, I am wondering if anyone has heard/ dealt with AA Auto Warranty before. I know a while back a member of this board had success with a 3rd party warranty company paid for his new/rebuilt eng. I tried to search for it with no avail. I came across with this company and did a BBB search on it and it seems to be in good hands (B+ rating in BBB). So I'm wondering if it really worth the $$.:-\ Thanks Vincent
