I can't think of a whole lot of good wheel'in spots in that general area... Alot of granola hippie types in and around the Levenworth area that frown on any dirt churn'in gas powered motorized fun! I am sure there is a few but mostly forrest service roads and such. You might find something on one of the passes but would most likely be limited. If anybody knows of any let me know... -Jake

You could fly to Seatac then take a Horizon flight to East Wenatchee (Pangborn Airport) That puts you about 10-15 miles from the fairgrounds. -Jake

Wow... Wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers there... We aren't trying to be WCSS or the Stupid Bowl. It's called a metaphor. It is too bad that some people can't attend. And so far, at least I thought, those who can't make it understand a date must be set. The fact that "you still need to drive 3+ hrs." was the whole point of doing it on a 3 day weekend so nobody has to be rushed. That being said... Alot of people are excited about this and I am sure that not everyone on here will make it but possitive comments about what we are trying to do are cool..... Negative ones, well not so cool. Again the date won't work for everyone, but it seems to work for most... Sorry if I've pissed in the kool aide. -Jake

I feel that a date is set. If for some reason you can't make it there is always next year, if this turns out to be a yearly event. Maybe this is not the right comparo but no one would say "Oh please Mr. NFL my aunts birthday is next Sunday could we do superbowl on like maybe Tuesday?" I wish everyone could and would make it, I am still having to pull some strings myself, Wife, Motor, Wife, Money... Did I say Wife? But you gotta do what you gotta do to move forward. If we don't set a date we would still be here on the interweb in September talking about it. When I first started talking about this thing I had originally suggested the weekend before or after Memorial Day as to not conflict with traditional Mem Day Weekend plans but quickly saw the benifits of the 3 day weekend. The only other solution would be to change the whole thing to 4th Of July or Laborday weekend but I am sure there would be a long list of people with plans or interferences on those 3 day weekends as well... Just my 2 cents -Jake

I am still down for the Memorial Day weekend idea. It makes it so all the people who are traveling won't need to be in a big hurry. I do understand people my have family obligations but hey... bring the family along, the more the merrier. Kill 2 birds Brat meet and family outing/camping trip. It's a win win. And as far as the extra cars on the roads that somebody expressed concerned with, I don't think Ellensburg is a huge Memorial Day destination, I could be wrong it has been a while since I have been there. But any reason to get away from all the yahoos that come to my town over that weekend would be a blessing for me. -Jake

My brat just died... The motor siezed up on my way to get the new wheels for it. I hope to have a new motor in it soon I didn't want to miss this. -Jake

Thanks... I got the phone call from Harry at H&D Auto... Well just as I thought. Motor is siezed! My good investment just went bad. I thought good car kharma would be coming my way. I mean I sold the 1997 JEEP Grand Cherokee to a friends son for 1/2 of what I could have sold it to anyone else and then a month later sold my 1996 JEEP Cherokee with low miles to a guy for $1800. Man I miss that thing...I did find a 45,000 mile Jap engine for $445. but we'll see if the LIL' Bastard will ride again or I may just cut my losses. -Jake

My Brat motor siezed yesterday and I found one from one of those Jap import places...45,000 miles with a 1yr warranty. Has anyone had any exp. with these? I have heard they come rusted out because of the trip from Japan. But I have never seen one let alone bought one.

So about 2 yeard ago I bought my 1st Subaru, An 06 Outback and the love affair began. Because my wife drives the Out back I needed a Subaru of my own so I found a really clean 94 Loyale wagon. I test drove it and it had a few minor things that it needed, and ofcourse the seller went on and on about how reliable it was... I checked the oil and it was clean, smelled the antifreeze... you know the deal. Anyway I made an offer and away I went, the proud new owner of a Subaru. I stopped at a gas station and filled her up and started the 40 mile drive home... 10 miles into my drive she starts heating up. So I pull over to side and start looking her over. The antifreeze was boiling in the resivoir.I called the seller and he just laughed and said,"You drove it, you liked it, you bought it... Not my problem"...%#@&!!! Called AAA and had it towed to H&D Subaru gurus. A few days later I get a phone call from them informing me that the head gaskets were blown and there is so much stopleak in the radiator that when they pulled it, it weighed twice as much as it should have. So my "Clean" "Reliable" $1700 Subi now cost me $2900 with all the repairs. Runs like a top now, But what a bunch of B.S. Ahh and now the Brat Aka LIL' Bastard. So now that I have been bitten by the Subaru bug I wanted a Brat, Always liked those things. Anyway I found one cheap a 1979 with the back seats and a topper! I talked to the seller and he assures me that it "Runs and drives great" Ya Ya Ya I've heard that before. The car was about 160 miles away so I went and looked at it and took the gamble, what the hell I've got AAA with a 100 mile range so even if I can only drive it 50 miles I could still get it towed to H&D for free. I drove it to H&D with no problems and left it there to give it a good once over... The old owner put in the wrong plugs the carb needed some work. But all in all aside from tires it was good! I immediatly started looking for stuff for it, found a nice set of Sendels on this forum and made a deal to buy them. I wanted to mount them 1st to make sure they fit so I thought I would drive the Brat down to check them out..... I put the Buddy Jesus bobble head on the dash, filled up the tank and headed out. I was so impressed with how well the Brat did I made it over Blewitt and Snoqualami passes with no problems. Thought about stopping in North Bend for coffee but I was having too much fun so I keeped on trucking along... For a few minutes... Funny sounds and all the lights on the Dash lit up! I threw it in Neutral and headed for the right side of the freeway. Now I was on the wrong side of the Mts. and a quick look at my GPS told my I was 127 miles from H&D. AAA is only good for a 100! Now when I hit the key all I get is "CLUNK" This can"t be good! I call AAA and when they ask where I want the car towed I told them 100 miles towards Wenatchee and I'll pay for the 27 miles! Man this SUCKS! I'll find out today how bad it is...but I know it's already bad. Sorry Mark I really wanted those wheels and I almost made it, those Sendels would have looked really cool on the LIL'Bastard. Someone else will pick'em up I am sure. -Jake

It should be a Brat meet, but my all means if you arrive in a subi you should be welcomed... I think if we limited it to "ONLY" Brats we would get very few people... Run what'cha brung is what I think.
