  1. ive already considered the coolant passages. im going to plumb in some fittings. and just run a hose from one side to the other. ive read and heard that these intakes dont flow that well. plus the coolant runs through it meaning hotter air which is bad. and well what the hell why not. hah
  2. ok well first off i saved a weber from being scrapped : D FREE well instead of throwing it on the stock manifold i decided im gonna try to build a custom intake for ************z n gigglez. the picture i drew up on paint is what the layout is gonna be. im thinkn 1 1/2" metal conduit. i have the flanges made up for the heads. im just trying to get some more input b4 i move on. all is appreciated plz point out ne flaws you see. thanxs : D
  3. thats a load o wires. oh so i got the ide exhaust done and mounted. well i went wheeling and didnt take in how much the engine torques. so the exhaust bottom out on the frame rail and ripped an exhaust stud out of the drivers side head. grrrr :banghead:
  4. ;)well i got the bearing changed tuesday. yay... well i noticed the tire settles funny. like the top is toed towards the car. camber i think. i always get camber and caster confused. hah so the side exhaust mounted up good and solid. but since its on the drivers side the engine torques up on that side which in turn rotates the exhaust up and broke one of my flange bolts lmao so i literally need muffler bearings or somthin haha. maybe one of those burly flexible metal tubes would work too.
  5. my driver rear wheel bearing went all poo on me. so i pulled the rear hub. GRRRRRR and am workn on an exhaust to run down the drivers side. oh and i picked up a weber that was gonna be scrapped but i savededs it : >
  6. finished the 6 lug swap. drilled out the wheels. the 215 70s do rub sometimes. so more bashing and beating is to come. haha. mobs way gnarlier though. especially in the sand too. handles better with the wheel offset. i dig it lotsdeds. looks frickn shweet 2
  7. in the process of cutting my fenders to clear the bigger tires whoo! oh and 4 the record 225 70s rub on stock suspension.
  8. in the proceess of the 6 lug swap. got two wheels done. 15 x 7s. i just need to decide on tires. the wheels alone stick out an inch and 3/4 gonna look sick. shootn for 26 - 27.5. tallest i measured you can go without rubbing on the the inside of the fender where its pretty rigid. on the front that is. idk about the back it looks like itll be about the same of course ill be triming the fenders haha. Tire recommendations are very welcome thanxs : >
  9. lmao wow didnt expect that many replies. thank you all i appreciate it for real. ive got it figured out : D
  10. How would i go about wiring up a relay for my offroad lights to click over with my high beams. i want them to turn off and on with my high beams but its stumping me. ive been doing voltage checks and what not and have concluded theres a groound side switch blehhh.. help plz
  11. if it does i was gonna mod one to mount a carb on. will this mount up to my ea82 carb engine or is there some inconvenient coolant passage issue.
  12. i was curious as to whether the ea82 spfi manifold had better flow than the carb manifold. anyone know??
  13. modded this m&m tin onto my shifter. lmao its awesomly comfies too. fits perfecting into a hand. : D
  14. dont need the carb theory anymore hah you jsut gave me the summed up version
  15. if its old school i say props. New stuff jsut isnt all that cool to me.
  16. ok so most people will say put a weber on it. well from what hear and read its the best. I like to experiment with different things and try to not follow the crowd. just for gits and shiggles. wouldnt throwing a bigger carb off of say a z24 nissan do the same thing. More cfm = more air + gas which =vroom.... cuz i can pick one up for like 30-40 bucks. also...... why would the weber boost power so much more than the hitachi???
  17. well i ditched my ac compressor as well. havent had a single problem over the year or so that i havent had it. i did help it out by putting a bigger washer inbetween the bolt head and bracket jsut to help encourage it be happy. : D
  18. anyone ever messed around with steam injection???
  19. yesterday i mounted the driving lights i got for christmas. they are way better than the headlights. and did an oil change. added that "Engine Restore" stuff to my oil. i think itll do some good for subie. to early to tell on any improvment.
  20. I did this to mine its way fun when its wet out. well idk that its real hard on anything. over a yr + maybe depending on drivn habits. hell it was raining tonight and i was headn home from shootn some pool. every chance i got i was sideways or driftn across lanes when i drop second its fun as hell. totally worth it
  21. or pistons hah or machine the pistons so the the valves will clear.
  22. K well hear it goes. been tinkn about doing a dual carb setup on my ea82. But id have to modify the factory manifold because it has coolant valleys going through it doesnt it???
  23. hey there and yes welcome. tons of these guys are genius's hah im 19 and got my subie about a year ago and theyve got tons of great info.
  24. well i dont have a cat and have a glass pack. sounds frickn sweet but it does get loud. so if you do use a glass pack put it closer to to your engine if you can. im not sure but i think this helps muffle it down a lil bit. less pipe to reverberate b4 the "muffling" device haha. thats just an assumption though.
  25. ya thats what i planned on doing but my dad has the compressors plug in tore apart for some reason grrrrrr...........
