Got hit with another 7 inches of snow
  2. ^ That happened to me like 4 years ago.. back when I was still new at my apartment I did not know the drains did not drain right, so to make a long story short I went to leave next morning and got about half way and the car stalled out.. I let the car roll back into a spot and I happen to go in the back and I saw puddles in both floor areas in the rear... at that point I knew the ECU got wet, lucky I was able to save it.
  3. Not bad, forgot to show the gasket in the picture, the little blue thing looks a little small.

Video of the crankshaft and the crazy play! So it seems low oil so far killed it, wont really know until it gets split but all the others had no play.

LOL you can tell I'm a newbie at this.. I did not know the pins for the pistons were so visible after you take the circlips off.. I expected them to look a bit different.. lol Anyways I took some video of that #2 piston on the Ej25d block, it must be at least 5 mm of play on the crankshaft.. took the oil pan off and it looked like glitter I will keep Piston #1 as a keepsake Anyone know what size the bolts are that are where the water jackets are? I thought it would be 14 mm 12 point but it's smaller.. maybe 10? Also redid the timing on my hybrid motor and holy crap does it pick up after 3K.. It feels better in that range than the Ej25d IMHO, it spins up faster it just feels so good! I found my coolant leak which did not take too long to find as soon as I started the car up I guess the screw band was not tight enough so it would leak right on the block and the headers and made a nice smoke cloud. Videos in a few since I need to head out.

lol funny you should say that I had to come to a hard stop the other day and that was my first thought.. just glad my tool bag was zipped up at the time. I'm going to try using the bar to get the wrist pins out for the pistons

Doh forgot about that! yeah that would work! Also I'm going to try and get as much teardown as I can of the old block.. it's been riding around in my wagon for almost 3 weeks now.

too tired today to do the timing, still trying to check where that coolant leak is.. I can only think it's a hose or i forgot to put a hose clamp on near where the IAC is, it only leaks when the system is full, Changed the oil yesterday. Any tips on getting to the knock sensor? LOL last time I had a very hard time getting the bolt onto the sensor.. I remember dropping it and having a hard time trying to fish it out, the way the 25D's intake manifold is makes it harder.. I was thinking maybe some glue on the end of the bolt head so I can at least thread the bolt in.

Ordered this today http://www.ebay.com/itm/281127989860?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I really needed just the plunger but I will just replace everything again, it's super easy to get to the starter anyways.
  11. For those that want to know I ordered this starter kit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281127989860?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Most likely JDM taillights and modding them for LED's I need for the spring to come so I can replace the hatch, hood and body repair.
  13. I guess I should replace the plunger then And yes I did get the car started.

Turns out it was the starter.. I replaced the contacts but not the plunger about two years ago.
  15. Damn starter contacts out again.. replaced them year before last but not the plunger
  16. You know it might be the Neg battery post.. it's starting to slip a bit.. I really need to replace them with marine terminals, I'm going to check that now..

    Car wont start now.
  18. I'm not sure what happened, I left a family members house and I noticed the cranking speed a little slower then normal, so I drove home and rested, and now trying to start the car I get nothing at all, I just hear the relay on the passenger side click, just nothing at all.. battery is not a year old yet.

They say a bigger spark 36Kv vs the 20 or so with the Subaru.

^man I would love to have a outback that clean! I have a huge rust issue on the passenger side rear door area where that stupid black plastic part is.. I hope I can shape some metal to wield on that area. Anyways I'm going to start building this MSD coil kit, I just need to run to home depot to get some longer bolts, need to still order valve cover gaskets and everything so far is going good.

ha I've only brake checked once but that's because the person behind me was almost less then one second away from my rear.. After I did the check it went up to 5 seconds. I hate when you have to reset the ECU on the car, is it just me or does the car use a bunch of gas for like the first 50 miles? I might get around to rotating the tires today it's going to be 40 they say this weekend.
