  4. Posting of pics may not be working right now. I think they maybe working on the site. Alot of things are not working as they should be. You could link to your pics if you have them someplace lke photobucket. or check with the mods to see whats up.
  5. hmmm...25 mpg sounds about average for a 5 speed will get less with an auto (3 speed)

  10. If it's schedule 80 it may hold up but not at temps below 32F. Would not trust it below 40F myself. Schedule 40...don't even try it. If you have put holes in the pipe...don't try it.
  11. they all sound like good ideas and after I got the new shocks on, it sits alot higher now and I don't think I'll be haulin any V8's in it any time sonn...thanks for your help
  12. HMMMM...didn't think of that. The car: 89 GL Wagon, dual range 4whl drive the rear bump stops, large, bullet shaped rubber things, fell off due to rust. Car was being worked on at the time so i have both stops, just wondering how to put them back on, or if i should even worry about it. Thanks
  13. Hi all What has everyone been using to put the bump stops back on?? Do I need to put the bump stops back on?? Thanks
  14. OK...I have read all the threads I could find on just how to get the rear axle off. Witch was not many, maybe not searching for the right thing. Anyway...I have the 2 pins out...now what? Are there any other parts that need to be removed before I start beating on this thing? Do I need to drop the diff? Not sure I understand just how this comes off. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks
  15. Thanks GD To get the roll pins out...do you use a punch? What is an easy way to get them out? Or a hard way...as has been every thing with this car from day one
  16. The car: 89 4x4 GL wagon The Question: How long can you keep driving the car with the rear axle clicking and clunking away? Kind of need to keep it rolling until the new one gets here. Thanks to all who respond and even those that don't :-\
  17. Well well...these sure are picky little beasts...lol Cleaned off bat posts and what do you know...cranks right over. must have been all that time sitting with no cables on while other work was being done. Thanks to all that took the time to help us out.
  18. Hi all Thanks for the replys Forgot to add that cables have been changed. Have not had time to try the things here yet. Votage on battery reads 12.8...is that enuff to turn the motor? Motor turns freely by hand. Would a bad fuel pump cause this kind of prob? Fuel sending unit is not hooked up...that shouldn't cause this. right???
  19. 89 GL wagon - spfi ea82, d/r 4 whl dr, 5 speed - car ran before we started working, but leaked fuel and had no brakes. things done so far - new brakes all around, new timing belts new NGK plugs new dist. cap new plug wires new fuel filter changed out coil bracket (bad ignition amp) swapped out fuel tank swapped fuel pump, but going back to original one as the new/used one doesnt work... car acts like it has a major short somewhere - turn key, get a loud click, then power dies completely. power resets itself after several minutes with key turned off. checked all grounds, battery connections, fuses and fuseable links under hood - where do we look next??????????????????
  20. It's usually what happens when you get hit by something MOOOOO
  21. What all have you checked so far?...fuel filter, pump? vac leaks?
  22. Yes...thank you Miles I see how it is now...kinda like the ones in the mustash bar. This sure is turning into a messy job...lol I should have checked that the contaner that I was draining the gas into didn't leak better...kitty litter...garage floors best friend (next to a good seal)
  23. Thanks GD That makes me feel better Must be the rubber is chewed up on the edges some is all. That solves problum
  24. Hi all Car...89 wagon D/R 5 speed ea82 non turbo. Now for the Q. I need to replace the gas tank...so have to drop the diff from what I understand. I was looking at the bracket that holds the diff to the car...it looks like there is a rubber bushing in it...is this true? And if thats what it is...it looks to bad in very bad shape. SOOOO...is it a rubber bushing? If so...does anyone know where I can get a new one?? :-\ Thanks for any help with this. MOOOO
