I have found a cd/radio unit. They tell me it is about 2 inches tall , it was from a 2002 Impreza , Didn't think to ask if if it was a WRX but I don't think so.. The salvage yard said they don't think it will fit, and the dealer couldn't tell if it would work.: -\ They are only able to give what was used in that 96 Impreza for a couple years before and after. they did tell me that the CD player was a seperate unit under the radio for 96. .... But I am hoping that Subaru made their 2002 unit as one cdplayer/radio and it will fit where the radio/cassette unit was . I am going to pull mine today and check the plugins, call the yard on Monday and compare the units over the phone. The yard is out of state so I want to be sure.... Thanks for all the help......

Well yesterday my brother retired his 3.0L Dodge shadow and he said come get the factory mags .. lace pattern, gold colored accents, mounted with Eagle RSA, all about 50 % good. The happy part is they fit right on the Impreza...with no real issues..they sit out farther by 3/4 of an inch.My wife likes the color match from the rims and interior. Now regarding the wobbly feeling of the car. We checked out the front end ; ball joints, struts , mounts, sway links, wheel bearings, lower control arm bushings, the rear sub frame mountings, rear trailing arm bushings, they are all tight . Also checked the brake calipers on the front for sticking pistons or slider mounts, and rear shoes, in case they were sticking on. The one thing we did before this all started with the wonky feel was the right frt cv axle was replaced with a new one. We think it may be the problem, may be ...... I checked the Search ,someone wrote in 09-20-2002 that they used 35psi all around , will do that tomorrow . I can't see 3 psi more from 32 psi which is the pressure now, but never had a Subaru before...I hope this will be the first of many. Thank you for helping us with your experience on these cars:)

Help,I am getting more confused on the fuse thing for FWD . I really do think now that I have bought a mistreated 96 2.2 auto impreza SW . Was looking at the winter tires that came with the car, one tire was run flat for a long time..looking inside of tire.... ooooooohh ,then my summer tire has started leaking . Had it repaired an they told me this tire also was run many times with low pressure.right a way put in the FWD fuse ,but now reading the search I am confused on how long I can keep it in Fwd. Still on fwd ,today on the highway, on new pavement we noticed that it seems to want to go from side to side, no wind no traffic, light throttle. Also when I drive quickly, mid to heavy throttle it seems to want to move from lt to rt to lt to rt. man oh man.. I have had this car less then 2 months. I hate giving up on this car. My wife really likes it, so do I , black sw with beige interior , and because no one here ,from my area seems to know much about subaru....and I really do like the feel of how solid it drives, no rattles or squeaks , and the ease of how they are seeming easy to work on , plugs & wires, so far. This week I will take scooby to a friend who owns a transmission shop. YOU folks are very smart . I have been reading the search but some times things don't seem so clear ... Please help ... this all very new to me . I have worked on many antiques and trucks. But this is a very different car. Thanks in advance.

I hope you folks don't mind me asking.. But I have done a Search on the Subaru Search site on JBM projector lamps, and HID's but I am interested if any one has installed projector replacement units in their cars and if it really helped. We live in and around a Very large moose population. 850 lbs and up + and many deer who never seem to cross where the moose or deer signs are.... Looking at the wealth of info I will not be using the HID units.. So has anyone tried using the projection styles and the outcome ?? I have a 96 impreza . Thanks for help on this subject..

There are many good body shops out there, After they have done their work on Blue . I would recomend that you get some like Rust Check or some undercoating oil or something so it doesn't come back so fast. We use FLUID FILM because it is a Wool Wax formula that solvent free and non toxic ...good for you and Blue and who ever else travells with you..

MY 96 impreza 2.2 auto has a knock sensor code. Where is it located on the engine ? Bought new one from the dealer...The other thing is when I select Reverse or Drive 3,2 etc the trans hums/whines, which changes with the rpm changes...just like the older cars with bad alt. But no whine when in Park or Neutral , any ideas. I was told the torque convertor is on it's way out.. Who has the best reference books on these cars... Because it sounds like I am going to need lots of help.... Thanks in advance
