  1. this one coxy =P yeah the rallies we do now are based on the sothern cross, (dad did it a couple of times) instead of stages its navigational. 300 km of competition for 100$A rather than the ones my brother does 500km transport, 200km competition and a cost of 1500$A at least this gives us a lead, because we were told it was Aus and NZ when i chased them i was told they didnt exist and the set that did was destroyed.
  2. thats just it, ive searched everywhere and only found that single one been built, and now with that photo there's 2. but theres nothing anywhere
  3. where did you find this information? the only place ive heard of this stems from this board, ive talked to people about it and they say it was never sold and only one was made.
  4. Im thinking of putting together a offroad buggy, jimco style. Im going to be running it mid engined using a subaru EA82 2WD box in the rear, power will probably be from a mild sub 2 liter straight 4 anyway how much power will the gearbox be able to handle? anyone know?
  5. i like the links nipper but they arent the actual car im after some were adds some were other forums on different cars
  6. im writing a book on how to build the EA82 into somthing, nothing like ej22 but a lot more power over standard
  7. so does anyone have the articles that made that car??
  8. thanks guys im actually lookign for the articles of that car, i want to know what they did to make it look so damn good. and im tempted to build one now =D
  9. sorry about the failed first post hahah yeah thats the magazine i want to read but cant find a scan of it and im not going to pay 10 dollars plus probably 25 P+H to get it here for one article
  10. we were talking to a locker manufacturer here in australia, probably based in america though he would be happy to set the tooling up to make them that was not a problem, but we needed to sell 500 before he started and price would be atleast 1000$aus each i was recelty and still am when the time allowes at making a hydraulich lockker for the rear, using the power steering pump. and lastly i was thinking ofsomthing like the last few posts about disabling one driveshaft, maybe modifying the hub so that the driveshaft can be pull out through it and it stopping just as the inner spline came out by removing it or somthing like that.... yeah its all up here hahah
  11. yeah weve looked into them and its possible but more work we want to get them as a package and just throw them to somone also im not sure about the spline count. or we might try and get one sent over, just the shafts and see if somone here can copy them
  12. yeah somone post some pics i dont wanna go and have to google it hahah we are starting to think about a new race series in the same format as formula first/formula vee. currently using volkswagon stuff but even thast getting rare and expensive cause not many poeople are bringing them in from brazil. so we were thinking about using that sort of thing, a cross between formula ford and formula vee. subaru ea82, single carb of free construction, single port heads, pistons free, crank free mounted to a subaru EA82, 2wd transaxle mounted the correct way etc with free suspension. would be awesome to have a 4wd box though hahahah
  13. maybe interested coob ill get back to you on that later really were looking for brand new shafts here i can get brand new/reconditioned shafts with new cvs and boots for my wagon. i was wondering if anyone other there did the same sort of thing
  14. sorry quote of a quote didnt quite work =/ the duel carbs set up like that came from nz not aus and *none* esist, nor did they ever exist...
  15. hey guys were working on a plan down here in aus to get better contol over the suspesnion when lifting an EA82 wagon problem is the drive shafts will become too small so we need longer ones and then we have a pickle apparently the XT6 front driveshafts are longer than any other available with the same splines other than getting customs and yeah too much work. next problem is we never got the Xt6s here so we only know of one set of those driveshafts around and theyre in a im[ported XT6. can you buy new Xt6 shafts from the states?
  16. yeah 13B refers to it being a 1300cc twin rotor if i am correct =/ ie each rotor is 650cc and theres 2 of them unless your making a 650a? thaty would be cool hahah
  17. im lookign for some more details about this car does anyone have the articles or the car even? <a href="http://www.imagebam.com/image/491569122646428" target="_blank"><img src="http://thumbnails35.imagebam.com/12265/491569122646428.jpg" alt="imagebam.com"></a>
  18. some very interesteding stuff in here =D once ive finished a few of my projects im gonna go back to somthing like this EA71 wagon lifted EA duel range AWD maybe turbo 82 or modified NA 81 mmmmm goodness
  19. ok guys now that ive got all the parts for my L seires rally wagon and the proccess of putting it all together is taking shape it getting ready to move on to a new project to be a road car and an offroad/race weapon like what you would see at baja but not so extreme. Maybe safari, rally raid is a better way to describe it. This will all have to fit into a forester, or a liberty/outback wagon but its fairly free past that. Well if got me thinking of what to build. id prefer NA for the moment, just to get to know the car and not have TOO much power available and to prevent the 50G engine blowing up cause i dont know how to use them. (ive only been a competetive driver with an NA engine) so my engine choices would be a franken motor or an EZ 33/30 there are no franken motors in australia ATM so thats why im here and could do with some details, anyone want to share?? and the problem with the 6 cylinder engines are the servicing costs, 180$ au for the lifters so its over $1500 to service the engine every 15000 km. unless anyone can convince me there are other ways =/ also the front heavness of the car would be a problem, slightly but being an offroad car i can just put more weight in the rear like spares id like it hooked up to the 6mt with front Lsd mainly for on road weaponry, would be fairly immense to take off and slam through them at red line. or a 4AT with 50/50 difflock that enables me to do full hairpin turns can you do the difflock with the 5AT? now my other main thing. CVs for EJS whats the biggest/strongest CV joints around? i think i remember the 2005 sti CVs are bigger and stronger, but were also an odd spline count and wouldnt meet with the 6speed box. or i could get suby flanges, convert CVs to porche 944 and run porche or custom wheels but thats an expensive option and not one i want to chase
  20. ok a little update This MIGHT be going ahead again. Some slight changed to the original plan but still, racings racing right? im looking at an ADM or JDM early forester, 1997 spec or so, it will be kept daily driven so mods cant be too rude. Either running a franken motor(possibly first built in australia) or the EZ30 for power but also reliablilty A strut lift with custon springs and fox bypass shocks or somthing of the sort.
  21. so where did this go? just throwing this out there would anyone be interested in sponsoring my offroad car? im based in australia where we sort of have a SUV offroad series and im getting the craving to build a forester. on another note, we have a car heading to East african safari this year, Datsun 260Z
