  1. I have lost my remote:( No biggie, but it was fun while it lasted. What is the cheapest way to get a replacement? Thx, -M-
  2. Where does one get the kit? I thought somebody had whiped it up in their barn/garage/shop as a one-off.
  3. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/car/63775508.html This is located in Arizona, south of Tucson. What you see is everything I know. I just happened to see it on craig's list.
  4. Is there any difference between a one inch longer strut and a two inch lift plate and a three inch lift plate? Ihe OBS strut is heavier duty than stock?
  5. I admire your initiative in trying to get this deal to go down. I don't even have a subie, but I would consider investing in the project. I have seen similar purchase pooling deals in the Vanagon world. You can still get new Vanagon parts from South Africa. Buying a load of used trannies from the other side of the world is risky. What is the price differential if you just order new ones? I drool when I dream about a lifted OBS Sport with an extended range transmission and a little camp trailer. Someday perhaps..... I will be watching for progress on this idea.
  6. Thanks for the info and the pics. I don't remember seeing a 3-door coupe before and I am getting interested. This only came up for me because I saw one on the A.trader at what seems like a reasonable price. It has dual-range and a/c and I am trying to find out if it has the LSD. I think the diff may be the deal maker based on what I have on the board. If the deal goes down, I guess you will be hearing more from me; if not I will remain is quasi lurker mode. -M-
  7. I was looking for a hatch and found an 1988 three door coupe. Any comments about the suitability of off roading it compared to a hatch? Does that big window in the back lift up? Thanks,
  8. How does the DR work? I understand transaxles (front and rear drive) and I understand the typical 4WD drive setup (stick a 2-speed transfer case in between transmission and rear end). The subie dual range I do not understand. Is the dual ranging all done within the transaxle housing or is there some other magic going on. Thanks, JM
  9. Hello, I am looking to outfit an Impreza Sport (Hatch) for off road. It would be nice to have dual range available. Any thoughts?
