  1. My crown jewels have arrived Weber manifold + IDF44 carb!!! Clear corner lights!!! New front valence from a "Sports" model!!! Special thanks to keirnna!!!
  2.  Coming from Japan courtesy keirnna on NASIOC!!! I still can't believe I actually found it, let alone managed to win the auction for it!
  3. One has rash, the other has rash + gouge in the lip, the other two just need to be repainted/powder coated, all 4 have paint chips/scratches/etc.
  4. Small update: Got the wheel bearing finished today at work. Feels MUCH better now
  5. Small update: I just rolled the front fenders, repaired a bend on the passenger door (got a set of bodywork hammer/dolly's from Harbor Freight), and reinstalled the brake shoes on one of the rear brakes after rebuilding the original brake cylinders (I have one that needs a stud tapped though since it broke off, I basically re-used the original housing but used the internals from some of the "rebuilt" cylinders I found on ebay). I have decided I need to buy my tires before the end of the month, the sales tax is going up next month here in California! I haven't found a place to repair the wheels yet, it looks like I'll have to go with the expensive "mobile repair" wheel specialist...
  6. Thought you guys might find these photos interesting I found last night on a JDM blog: http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/215699/car/105463/profile.aspx yes, those are HID's! He shows how to install them in the blog, lol! those are the SSR wheels I saw recently for sale on the yahoo auctions check out his awesome exhaust setup! LOL! Neon green with funky black painted hood... ...but check out his seat setup, I think i'll do something similar.
  7. I got the tie rod threads fixed today My shop foreman had a whole die set, and another tech gave me a hand, got it done nicely However, I did discover one of the front wheel bearings is shot :-\ Luckily I have a spare, and the tools and help to do the job!
  8. The numbers are still good, but they are not "active" and not availible. If I tried to order them, they will just be canceled (I work at a Subaru parts department FYI)
  9. The linings are OK right now thickness wise, but I am concerned about down the road if I ever have to replace them... I'll probably have to go that route (unless someone like moosens has a pair laying around, or I can find some off of a parts car)
  10. If that picture is correct... Nope. And they need to be "wagon" ff-1 rear brakes. The coupes/sedans are wrong.
  11. I just found some wheel cylinders on ebay that look correct. Apparently the ones I bought before were for the front (so I have 4 fronts, no rears). I've found the pins and springs for the brakes now, although one of the springs is not availible anymore, the other still is. However, brake shoes for these rears are non-existent (part number: 625301150 or 625300140)
  12. Oh, on a side note, I've been trying to reassemble my rear brakes today and i've found all the parts I picked up that were supposedly for the FF-1 (rear brake linings, brake cylinder, brake spring kit, etc.) all are wrong I figure its because the suspension is actually a Wagon rear suspension and not a sedan rear suspension, which means all that stuff isn't compatible...
  13. Oooh. If nobody at work has a set i can borrow, ill have to pick that up
  14. Snap-on Update The Snap-on.com website is not available due to a system upgrade that is now underway. This is part of our continuing efforts to improve our website for you, our valued customers. Please try again later. LOL!!!
  15. Hmm, thread file, I'll have to check that out. Someone mentioned a thread die elsewhere and that seems like an expensive contraption.
  16. I'm contemplating cutting off the bad first couple of threads (since they are "squished" which made them wide and too narrow to thread through) but it would put it close to the hole that the pin goes through... I already used that procedure with a couple of other spots on the suspension I fubared where clearance wasn't an issue, but with these there is less wiggle room.
  17. I test-fit the spacers and wheels today in the rear just to make sure they fit: As you can see, plenty of room now Oh and some good news, just won the auction for that Weber intake manifold But some bad news, I just discovered I fubared the thread on the tie-rods when I removed them from the front hubs, i'll have to figure out how to fix it :-\
  18. Brembos!!! I so wish I could do that with my ff-1...
  19. Gen 1 brat? Get AT LEAST 195's on there!!!
  20. If my babelfish is right, this is one of those weber manifolds for sale: http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r52812579 However, that price is like $1,000
  21. Not much to report, another rainy day today, still just working on painting/restoring individual parts. However, I've been re-assembling the 72-77 full OEM parts manual that was donated to me into new binders in nice clear plastic sheets to keep the pages from being torn any worse than they already were, and I discovered that If I do want to use the gearing from the ~82-83 FWD transmission I need a 1300 FF-1 transmission case... Now I did see one of those transmissions on the Japanese Yahoo auctions but I double checked and it appears to be gone (hopefully to be re-listed later). If I can get that case, from what I can tell, the gearing will swap in perfectly! But thats only if I can get one of those cases... (the stupid 1100 transmission doesn't share any parts with the other FWD transmissions, other than the 1000!)
  22. EA61 = 1100, actually most closely related to the EA52 (the first boxer from Subaru, also known as the 1000) EA62 = 1300, only used up to 72 and a little in 73 perhaps EA63 = 1400, basically a bored out EA62 from what I can tell from the part numbers, and used with both 4-port (until 74) and 2-port heads.
  23. Thats an interesting idea... ...but for someone else, LOL! I don't really have room for "wide" tires/wheels on the FF-1.
