  1. Sorry to take so long... I have been working on my hatch. This truck is a 1988 1/2 ton silverado. She still hasn't told me what is wrong with it, I've heard everything from the engine and or transmission is blown to the axle is missing. I haven't made the road trip to go see it. My DD is a 06 chevy half ton that is also my tow rig. I'm still thinking i want to stroke it to a 383 and super charge it, but i guess what i was asking in this thread is if anyone has seen or heard of anything interesting... My buddy showed me a website called Flyin' Miata, where they put corvette engines in miatas. That seems kinda interesting, but i dont exactly fit well in a miata. The way I'm looking at this is... I have a tow rig/ reliable DD, I also have a wheeler (88 Hatch), I'm guessing that this engine would probably go towards a small, light weight, fast, street car. But it doesn't have to be... I'm just looking for something to do with it that people don't see everyday. I would have never thought of lifting and wheeling a car until i saw this site, now i love my hatch. I'm just looking for ideas on a fun/unconventional high powered engine.' Thanks

  4. There are a small few of us floating around down here in NM, not many but we are here. Keep in touch and we can get together sometime for junkyard runs or something.
  5. SO.... My Aunt has an older model Chevy Truck that some parts were stolen off of (rear drive train as far as I can tell). She asked me if I wanted to have the truck to fix up since she is pretty well done with ever using it again. She also said that it had a 350 in it, in case I just wanted to use the engine. The engine would probably need to be rebuilt if I pulled it out. If I rebuild it, I would probably stroke it to a 383... But, the problem I'm having is trying to think of what I could do with it. The truck is 2wd I think, so fixing it up to Wheel would be a stretch... but I'm at a loss of ideas here guys. Can you help me out?
  6. Welcome! You'll find a TON of info here about anything you wanted to do to your car. Try to use the search function to avoid asking a question that has been previously asked, some people are kinda picky about that... I get the feeling that "rough" is an understatement Welcome!
  7. Garage queen? Where is this located? Thats a nice looking brat!
  8. Hey, so i saw in some posts that you were looking to get a car nearby (Pueblo). Its probably too late, but i have a flatbed car-hauling trailer. I've been using it to haul the Hatch around when I move...

It seems that we are pretty much by ourselves down here in NM, might as well help out one another. I will be living in Socorro again in a month.

PS. There is a really good looking brat in carrizozo. virtually rust free...

    Anyway. Keep in touch.

  9. I have an EJ... Just sitting in the yard right now... It's been around for 3months or so. I've been having trouble finding Gaskets to rebuild it. It came w/o an ECU or wiring harness, but that is almost taken care of... The car it is going into is going to get lifted at the same time. So i guess this is the parts gathering phase, If that is considered a "started" swap... then about 3 or 4 months
  10. Bill, Yesterday I found a small stash of parted out hatches and wagons. Are you still needing hubs/drums? If so, i don't think anyone will mind if i grabbed these for ya. Let me know.

  17. Is there any active Subie off-roaders from New Mexico floating around here? Doesn't have to be wheelers, is anyone even close to the area? It seems that most people are in the PNW, It would be nice to know that someone is this far south.:-\
  18. Bill, Is my order that we discussed over the Holidays still on the Fabrication list, or do i need to be watching the For Sale Section of the Forum? I also may be interested in your hub re-lugging service...
  19. I moved from there less than a year ago, I have lots of contacts there and am kinda looking for a reason to go back for a visit. Yeah, Allen theaters lacks in the online aspect...
