WJM replied to suberdave's topic in Subaru Retrofitting

WJM replied to Zer0d's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
EA82T ftw. I've had mine that fast. Easy. I had one that was putting out 240 CRANK hp and 320 CRANK tq for a LONG time. No problems. That engine still lives today after 40k+ street miles, a day at the road course, over 100 autox's and a few mountian runs. -
Cant resist. Sending PM.

if you've got part numbers, I can look them up.
-
how long ago was that? As you know...there are different codes that relate to how avalible the part is. 25143GA280 Code 11-Standalone | Item Status: Active Now, there shows to not be any changes in price since July of 1999... That tells me it has not been any in the USA since about that time...and since there is no supercession info (rare to not have one, but not uncommon) that tells me even more that it is definatly not a popular part. The definition of a 'good part number'...to me atleast...is one that atleast will show me status and some history. Like the front bumper cover for an RX. Its been obsolete/inactive for a while. Its a good number, cuz it'll tell me that it existed in the USA. The defination of a 'bad part number' will give me this message: The Following Item(s) Are Not Valid 25143GA282 Just because its a 'good number' doesnt mean we can still get it. But if its inactive and obsolete...it is DEFINATLY gone forever.

I did try to order it...they said it would not come as its IS an obsolete PN for Fuji. Its one of those part numbers that are in limbo right now. Plus, if I cant get the other 3, than why order that one?

5-lug swap, Stage3 Clutch, AWD Conver. DONE!
WJM replied to Steveman09's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well, you should drive a stock brake'ed WRX on track...then drive the same one with StopTech 4 piston's in the front on a 366mm dia. rotor. There's no need to upgrade the stock MC. PLENTY of stopping power with more than enough brake pedal effort left untouched. I'd say that I was using 120 to 150 lbs of force to get the car slowed into the corners...with the stoptechs using the same braking points, that force was 1/2 of that. Then i started going deeper and deeper...when I was back to using 150 or so lbs of force...I was WAY deep. -

BB: Just plug your PCV port on the manifold, and run all the PCV ports/lines to a catch can with a breather filter on it. Thats what I have done. As for the MS-II...there will be an ammendment soon, but the wiring has changed. We are using BOTH injector drivers now...the 1-2 injectors on driver 1, and 3-4 injectors on the 2nd. Thats the way to go. -
the rear hubs were about $300 each....I emailed them.
-
Here's a link to them: http://www.nippon-seiki.co.jp/defishop/product/bf/bf_top.html They are the BEST gauge I've ever seen/installed/used...and ACCURATE. I decided a long time ago that if I ever had the time/$ to get gauges, and they were IMPORTANT ones...that I would find some way to have the DEFI's.
-
I'll have pics up when I get it all installed and it tuned good.
-
Well, the good thing is that I've had the AEM laying around for about a year...and got it from trading parts around. The DEFI's were cheap+some parts.

You wont need a different MC...as long as you have good solid pressure from the MC, the stock units are fine. -

Kewl. I'm next! -
So I just got a set of DEFI guages...the really nice ones thats $1,200 for the set of 3 and the controller.... Oil pressure, EGT and fuel pressure. Next, I'll wire up my boost controller...an AEM plug and play standalone for a WRX....JUST to control boost....since I dont have anything else. Its the worlds most expensive boost controller!! $1,600! I must be on something.

No pics yet. Detailed pics when i get some time and more things are complete. No change in performance as I'm still working out all the bugs and making the car safe to drive.

The problem is that over here on the east coast...seeing an XT6 is like seeing a.....a...well, I see atelast 2 DeLoreans per week....ummm... Ok, its like seeing a Unicorn. With that said, I've only seen 4 XT6's over here. Only ONE was 4WD. The rest, 2WD and stripped of all parts.
