  1. Ok...gotta find one, thanks.
  2. 86' GL Driving down the road, the tach will fluctuate 250-500 RPM but the engine doesnt. Once you are at 3000 RPM and above, the engine stumbles. Checked the plugs, they are clean and look good, checked choke. Changed gas filter, check belts incase one slipped. Checked rotor, cap, looked fine. What am I overlooking?
  3. I'll figure it out, just curious is if sounded familiar. What is a DMM?
  4. '87 Brat. Turn the key on and crank and the ignition fuse blows. Bare wire? Didnt see any, but was raining, didnt look too hard. Choke on the weber wouldnt do it, right? Thought of it so I unplugged it and it started. Coincidence I think.
  5. I made it as the picture shows. Just testing, I put a paper towel over it as a filter and took it for a ride. That worked, no sucking oil. I will reduce the diameter and go that route. Thanks again.
  6. I saw a Cummins turbo laying on the side of the road the other day. Should have nabbed it for you.
  7. Ugh....sorry, title changed.
  8. This is an ea81 but shouldnt matter.
  9. Which is why I asked. I "think" I am sucking oil. Would this correct the problem?
  10. Ok, just double checking my thinking...which varies at times.
  11. Anyone see anything wrong with this? The right photo, with the Weber.
  12. I wonder if you could do an ea71 dist with a pertronix unit in it. That would be the ticket.
  13. Thought I would throw you all a bone here. I get all my Luk clutches on ebay. The username for the guy, who by the way is excellent to deal with, is: "motherclutcherz". Great prices to boot. Tell him Pete sent you.
  14. Wow, I had ambition once, many years ago.
  15. I rtv'd the little hole pretty good. I was very surprised it leaked.
  16. Yes, albeit it wasnt the best gasket I have ever seen. I am thinking it is not perfectly flat.
  17. ea81 leaks under the spacer. It has to do with the adapter. I really do want to keep the heat, instead of plugging it. I took it off again and put a little rtv on to see if it would stop, it didnt. Suggestions? Maybe the adapter isnt totally flat? Its a minimal leak.
  18. In my mind, that would mean you are running lean at sea level. Higher up you go, thinner the air, need to run fatter.
  19. Thanks. Wow, these carbs are simple! My Hitachi ran great, but I caved in. Now I need 2 more for my EA82's.
  20. Look at it this way. No mosquitoes or rust.
  21. On the front [radiator side] at the bottom, there are 2 brass 'nipples'. One has a screw in it, the other doesnt. What are these? In the pic I have the one without the screw plugged with a hose. Are they indeed vac. ports or are they something else? I know, poor pic, sorry.
