  1. No kidding, if they could have left it basic code it would have been great! The best forum software I have found, has been: http://getvanilla.com/
  2. Yeah, thats what I ended up doing.
  3. Stinkin html pages! This forum is different than what I am used to.
  4. Yeppers. Possibly, it is a Mac thing....who knows. Again, I have posted an image below this.... Heres a link to what I am posting: http://picasaweb.google.com/pmilne/Misc/photo#5063503307338741378
  5. The point being, on any forum, you should be able to link to an external image, plain and simple. No need to attach a file, just use the image syntax and link it out.
  6. Linking out of your gallery is cheating!
  7. I am using a public acct, plus, I design websites so I SHOULD know how to paste an image.
  8. It aint my fault, it aint letting it happen. Forum software error. Right click where the pic should be and open it in a new tab/window or save it.
  9. Drilled holes in them, stuck them in the oven, pryed them apart and found was needs replacing. Cleaned them all up, shined them, put them back on. Nothing but Napa for 120 miles so they suggested Super Whites. Talked to a few people about them and decided to go for it. Had to drive home in the dark last night, pretty nice lighting. Way better than what I had in there. Now to find a drivers side housing, and I'llb e good to go.
  10. I got them out, put some dry dish soap in them and cleaned them. Lots of condensation in them. How about drilling a small hole on the back side, to allow for condensation to evaporate? Kinda like we used to do in point distributors.
  11. Explain how you did it. The link to the other forum is a dead link.
  12. Ok, I'll get it done. Give me your phone number please, so when my wife sees headlights in the oven........
  13. Wow, thanks for the input. Sorry to say though, I am almost positive it is the glass. We live on gravel roads, mud, dust, which is the cause of it. I will though, take them out and have a close look. I really dont think it is the wiring. It also is the alignment, which I need to take a look at.
  14. Why did they make them so you cant take the glass off, what were they thinking???
  15. Eek gads man, I cant drive over 45 at night! Are the Sylvania 9004XV plug and go lights? No modifications needed? I dont suppose there is a way to clean the inside of the glass without taking the whole car apart? Think this is the way to go??
  16. I want to take a shot at rebuilding one...just not the one the runs my car. '86 GL10. The older the carb, the better...less to deal with. I'll pay shipping!
  17. I dont think you should feel stupid for not knowing about the light switch. Using "stupider" should be a good reason to make you feel stupid though. LOL!
  18. Thats the wifes rig. The boy wanted an older 2wd so I bought it for him. Wife called him 2 days later and told him he best find something else, he aint getting this one! She loves it! First 2wd I have owned in over 25 yrs. We'll park it come winter.
  19. 130 miles to a junk yard. Thought I would try here first. Its not my Soobie, just trying to help a gal out.
  20. http://picasaweb.google.com/pmilne/Misc/photo#5049668693923100082
  21. All interesting points, thanks. I am still going to use a carb model, preferably and older one. It will have no sensors, etc. It will have 4 spark plug wires, and a couple wires going to the alternator, starter and dist...that is all. Sorry, but I am hard and fast on that one.
  22. This probably wouldnt be something that ran a lot. Its would be one of those things like "I have and you dont"...lol! In the ranching industry its always good to have a stationary engine around. A bolt on generator would be doable. I dont have a head at this time for it. Those are easy to come by though. This military 4 cyl I have here is a real screamer. You could hear it from there too! Too bad you couldnt leave the transmision on and hook the head to it. Being FWD that would be a nightmare though. What would be a better engine to use, and 81 or 82? I would most certainly pull all the sensors, not that there are many left. There is no reason why and engine wont run with just a carb and distributor. Mind you all, just brainstorming here......
  23. Good info! As far as the engine, I am not sure which would be a better one, the 81 or 82. I dont know that much about them to comment. As far as fuel delivery, I wouldnt own an injected engine. I want carb'd, and would still like to find out about the ignition system. I am the 'old school' type. I like things basic, and fixable with either a hammer, screwdriver, or crescent wrench.
