  1. I drained the gear oil in the tranny and put straight ATF in. Works great, especially when its cold.
  2. Jacobs, I emailed you, but I did it before I read this. Thanks for the explanation. You can ignore the email.
  3. Thats fairly acceptable.
  4. Problem is, I know where points go, how to set them and what they look like. I am not even sure what all is involved with the current setup. Are you saying it is soley a disty and coil? Nothing else involved?
  5. Hey, Contact me, PM, email....someway, if you would please.
  6. I got into this a while back but never got an answer. Is it possible to have an ea82 with a point distributor? There are no sensors hooked up to it at this time, runs great. I am looking for something that can be fixed on the side of the road, should the need arise. Point ignitions can almost always be repaired on the road.
  7. I agree. I was questioning heighth.
  8. 86'GL wagon. What other wheels will bolt right up? What size tire [tall] can I go to with the original wheels and no lift? What tire can I go to without compromising mileage or performance?
  9. There is quite a difference running in MT compared to running in FL.
  10. 25mpg today. Why would you expect to get good mileage at 75mph?
  11. Problem solved. I have been given 2 straight, rust free 85-86 GL wagons. My wife will kill me!
  12. While we're on this, how often 'should' one change belts on an EA82? I love mine. If I could make it run computer-less, I would love it better. After all, I am down to about 3 vacuum hoses.
  13. Good to know. 250K+ and still running quite strong. Who knows when I will need to find something. People are trying to talk me into moving up to a Legacy, but I cant see why I would ever want to do that.
  14. If this goes tits up, I will just get another ea82. I had this sitting here thinking it was an ea81, until I looked closer.
  15. I kinda figured that. So much for that plan. :/
  16. Bugger, its an EA71.
  17. Carb [non-electric], 5 spd
  18. Well, I cant seem to find a post on it. Care to share? [bah-hooey...found one] I take that back. I cant find anything concise about the swap.
  19. Hypothetically at this moment. Can I pull the 82 and put an 81 in its place? Mine is at 250+K and I ihave an 81 sitting around. Was thinking I would swap when the time came, if needed. If so, pros-cons?
  20. Dont "flush" the radiator. Just drain the old and replace with new.
  21. Ok, looking at Cibie Oscar Plus. This should work on my lighting issue.
  22. Bad part about all of this is that if it involves more than 2 or 3 wires, its over my head. :/ Thats the main reason I am opting for replacements.
  23. I thought I once saw a "rally' type light that would accept these lightbulbs. If that were the case I would get a set of them and pull the bulbs out of the headlights and put them in the new. I probably wont rewire the whole car to fix the headlights, if I can add something and just do away with the old. I want bright lights and I want them tomorrow.
