  1. never happen Mellow, you aint got no best freinds  I just was riding your tail I been building housings for a bunch of people and I got all the information on the subaru housinig I should need, it costs me about $2000.00 to run off 10 housings, so I have to rotate what I am doing, as soon as I get some money from other bellhousing sales I will do a casting run on the Sub's I already ordered the throw out bearing tooling from the casting shop
  2. its called 'life' mellow or 'thats life' let me explain.............you see.....life is a ***************.........and then you die! and you will find that the word 'sypathy' is between '************' and 'syphlis' in the dictionary
  3. shifter 'thingy' ??????????????????????? my gawd man, thats a air cooled, manually operated, short throw diverter valve reloacter for crying out loud...........................'shifter thingy' I am building a T 56 / 2 jz adapter right now plus the 2jz GM auto trans adapter......................so I am resting while mellow takes over for a while and tells me if he likes the unit or if changes needed to be made
  4. I know what I ment >;o)))))))))))))))))))))) thats why I work alone, with my tools and my stuff, because nobody 'gets it' when I ramble on and on and on:lol::lol:
  5. just a freindly reminder, that top engine mount bracket has been deleted, the reason it was there was for the FWD axles, as the front wheels rotated clockwise (forward ), the engine would try to move counterclockwise (backwards), with the new style trans, the engine wants to rotate horizonally in either the 4WD or the 2WD. so there was no need for that top mount , however, i would kinda like to add the cable clutch mount in the future
  6. no, i have no idea where the shifter will be, that answer will come from mellow65 when he helps out with the R&D you cant carry a weapon? I assure you all the nutz there have one, they shoot weapons just to say hello
  7. I can place your shifter anywhere you want it Be carefull in Kuwait, they dont like us much
  8. wish I could go with you, I was in st petersburg Russia when the wall came down .;o) ( true story) all I can do is keep updating my posts and you can watch me here
  9. is the clutch cable bracket on top of the trans all the same? from early years?
  10. well, to recap how this all works, I re used the original Subaru pilot bearing with a Toyota disc and the original Subaru flywheel now just as a reminder the W series includes the 2wd w55 through 59 model and the W series 4WD trans model, they are the same bolt up I re used the original Subaru pivot ball then I built the throw out bearing holder and matched a Nissian throw out bearing to the Sub pressure plate and I re used the original Subaro clutch fork then I added a treaded insert in the lower starter bolt hole so it can either be used or drilled out to be used with the 8 bolt Subaru engine, I re used the original Subaru starter I also re used the original Subaru slave cylinder and push rod in its original location and here is the first fully operational W series bellhousing with all the T 's crossed and all the I's dotted, its perfect >;o)
  11. I will set it up so anybody can oredr them when ever they want, I maintain the product lines after the r&d is done as in with ham and eggs, the chicken is involved, the pig is committed
  12. I am placing the starter now,the casting was tall enough but when machining the starter hieght it proved to be too short to use in a second casting, so I had to raise the starter deck and resize the starter hole, I had too larger of a starter pocket so it had to be changed I sold some other housings I had in stock and had to machine them out so I been a little late with all the work
  13. they dont know it yet but that starter is gonna blow the lid off the 2JZ crowd in a little bit, I been struggling with the starter arriangement for the GM tran /2JZ engine and the Sub starter is the key to building a good cheap adapter
  14. dont you ever sleep? Mellow? I didnt know if there was a difference in the mounting bracket or something, but from what you say its all about length so we should be good
  15. I ordered a sub starter from a 95 Legacy, its supposed to be a manual trans starter, can anybody verify the diamter of the starter locater? I dissasembled everything and tested the starter location, Its all good I wonder if they dregged the lake to find this part?????????????
  16. It was a forced situation, i was turned down for a job at the post office because I couldnt get a concealed weapons permit, so I built bellhousings
  17. lets have some fun >;o) one of your fearless members asked me about a bellhousing to mate the sub engine to a purely rwd unit, preferably the toyota w series transmission, i thought it was a neet idea nothin to it >;o0
  18. be broke, be happy, I dont recomend getting rid of the books and advocating sex and drugs, but hey, it works for me
  19. from what information I have gathered, the W series Toyota 5 speed ( W 55-59 non turbo) is the same input length at the pre '96 R 151 and 150 which was built for the v6 truck and 22re turbo engines in 4wd and 2 wd then after '96 R 151 and 150 was built for the V-6 truck but an inch was added to the input shaft length so here is the deal w-55-59 and pre 96 r 151 and r 150 = 6.5 inch input shaft r 154 Toyota Supra turbo trans = 7.25 in input shaft after 96 r 151 and r 150 V-6 Toyota trans = 7.50 input shaft so I should be able to build my W 55 bellhousing to accept the pre' 96 R 151 and r 150 now the only problem is, it has to be drilled for one or the other, because some of the trans facing holes are very close to each other
  20. yeah, thats why the facing on the back of the bellhousing is so wide, it fits 4 transmissions, the W series 4WD and 2WD and the pre 97 short shaft R seies from the V 6 truck , both 4wd and 2 wd want me to rebuild it? I could add the allison hydro out of the mack desiels
  21. I will be doing some adjustments but its done and it works fine, smooth as silk
  22. went to detriot auto show today and run into an old girl friend, it was okayyyyy but then she just wanted to hang out and it got kinda herd to get rid of her
