ok cool. what would the front cross member gain me? and if i pull the harness out will it just plug into the impreza harness that goes to the the rest of the car? then to my instrument cluster and all? when i just did the harness to go from auto to manual there were two harnesses. one on the dash and one behind the heaterbox that went to the computer and engine. would i need to do both? if i do the swap i want it to be clean and easy to work on and have info on.

has anyone on here done a swap like this? or is there another forum that dose more this kinda swap?

i believe they will. someone said the trans outta 91 legacy will fit in my 93 impreza so i bet yours will work to

will my engine harness hook to the ej22 heads?

thanks sorry i thought i read it all but i guess not lol. i think the only for you to get the bigger bore is either a bigger block in general or take out the sleeve and cut into the actual block but it sounds like the 2nd option there wouldnt work. maby there is a stroker ket for these?

so one could simply swap blocks? will the ej18 harness fit on the ej22? im wanting to do this same swap and have both motors complete.

ok cool. i will search and see if i can find that thread and what pins i will need to mess with. the imprezas never came turbo right? at least not this body style. i have 14" wheels so i do think the others are bigger but they are mags of some sort so i would rather have them anyways

thanks man. i work at autozone and stil cant work the website lol. i think the biggest thing i want is the motor to plug in. it makes sense to me that it would but the guy earlier said no so...lol i wonder if the harness from my 1.8 would go on the 2.2 so the car thinks its just a 1.8. i would think it would get enough fuel i do have a bigger fuel pump so i will just mait for more feedback and keep tryin to do more research

ok even if my car is a 1.8 manual it wont plug in? lol i just pulled all the dash off mine and put it back on lol are the breaks different? i need rotors in mine so was hoping they would be the same part number lol

so my friend has a 91 legacy 2.2 turbo 5 speed that i will probably buy for parts for my 93 impreza. i mostly want motor and turbo set up with full exhaust and back up trany and diffs. what else can i use? struts, breaks, interior? will the exhaust bolt on or will i have to modify it? thanks tyler

what dose the yellow do? just looks or dose it make them work better in fog?

sweet thanks man. its a 93 impreza L? engine came from a 5 speed wagon. im thinking about getting my friends turbo legacy no title, keys and the body is in pretty bad shape if i remember right. but pull that motor and turbo and possibly 5 speed and diffs then put the motor and turbo in mine and put the 6 speed behind that and then make the diffs lsd and make it a wannabe sti lol. or make it rwd and have a sleepy drifter lol. i think his motor is a 2.2 but not for sure i will try to go over tommorow and see what i can find out

guess i should of looked before i asked lol. mine is a ej18 but cant tell if its a 1 2 or 3. i guess there is not much difference. anyone know off the top of their head what engines have the same bellhousing as that? i heard they changed in like 98 but hope not lol i wanna put a 6 speed under this thing

o sweet man thats perfect. now how do you go about finding out what one you have? is it stamped on there or something else that means one of those lol or is it in the vin? i think i remember a stamping on the block maby that says it i will go check

bein new to subies i dont know what like an ea82 or a ej22 is or any of the others. i just know 1.8, 2.2 an 2.5 and t stands for turbo. is there a guide? or something i couldnt find anything on here or google but im horrible at internet research so please help lol

will wrx sti interior (seats carpet and door panels) go in a 93 impreza? i think the seats will and the doors are pretty close to the same i think. they are both 4 door cars

exactly i figured i would get some pretty good binding if its different. its all in the car so i will have to get it in the shop possibly this weekend to see. where will i find them?

i had the same kinda issue where it didnt wanna go. i had just drove it around the block and it made a wierd noise so i brought it back in the shop and the axel nut was lose so i smacked it down then it wouldnt go. so if the previous owner tried to make up for bad wheel bearings by smacking down the axel nuts that could be the issue. but its a lot more likely its breaks. im gettin ready to look into the rear washer not working on my gfs car so if i find anything interesting i will let you know

so i recently took the 1.8 and manual trany with the front diff stil on it outta 93 impreza and put it all in a previously auto 93 impreza. i didnt change out the rear diff lol. am i messing the car up? the front diff is from a manual and the rear as far as i know is from an auto. i would like it to do a little better on the freeway. i am working on getting a mid ninetys legacy 2.2? turbo 5 speed. could i use those diffs if i have messed mine up? i want to make my car more like an sti and i go on the freeway a lot so need the higher ratio probably. thanks tyler

so on my 93 impreza what size are the wheels? 5x100mm or 5x114.3mm? or something else lol. also on my girlfriends 97 she has 15" rims. will my 14"s fit on hers? we both have steelies thanks tyler
