what is the difference between a gl, dl and loyale. they look similar is it just a different year - different name or are there things that set them apart from each other. just wondering. proud loyale owner!

in dash clock for loyale...
the goat replied to the goat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thanks for the info. -
i am in need of a "hidden hitch" for a 90 loyale station wagon 4wd and i didn't know if they made one and what is the ballpark figure on how much it cost. thanks.
-
i have a 90 loyale with an in dash electronic clock that is on but doesn't keep correct time. does anyone know where i might be able to pick one up and would it be difficult to change out? keep in mind i am not what you would call mechanically inclined. thanks.
-
here are some random questions i would like an answer to if possible. please understand that i am mechanical equivalent of a 98 pound weakling. i see alot of people have put a weber (carb i'm assuming) on their soobs and i was wondering what was the benefit over the fuel injection. also do you see any performance benefit from a k&n filter over your average filter? also, i have a 90 loyale 4wd and i was wondering if there were any recommendations for spark plug and wires that i should look for when i make my next change. thanks.

bratman 2 - i am very familiar with that part of the state. i work for the ymca and we have 2 residence camps in arapahoe, nc (not far from new bern). i am out that way several times a year. the trip from raleigh to the coast on hwy. 70 is a nice little ride. maybe we need to plan a north carolina subaru gathering in the future with so many owners popping up on the message board. -

wish i could make it to the get together but my career choice has me working at a resident camp so my summers are pretty busy. my fall and spring schedule are much lighter so i will be on the lookout for future meet and rides. thanks. keep me posted. -

yes, there are a few subaru owners here on the east coast. i am not far from cary (30 min.) i will check on some off-roading spots usually when you here about a place they immediately put up a sub division. keep me posted on any get togethers i would love to attend. i work at a resident camp and we have 4 soob owners on staff so i will get a group picture (of the cars) to put north carolina on the subaru map. -

mentis - glad to hear you are moving to the great state of north carolina. chapel hill is a great town to be in. great college town which keeps you young. i live north of raleigh, nc in the town of wake forest. it is always good to have new soob owners moving to the east coast. later. -

i had a similar problem (and i am lazy) so i went to circuit city and they put in a pioneer for me and now it works great. -
wheel & lug pattern question...again
the goat replied to the goat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thanks for the quick replies. -
i understand that many people purchase the pug wheels because of the 4 lug pattern but where i work i have noticed an old bmw 2002 with a 4 lug pattern rim and a honda civic with a 4 lug pattern rim. will these fit a subaru? just wondering. i thought most passenger cars were 5 lug. thanks for any insight.
-
i'd buy it. i have a 90 loyale 4wd with 213,000 miles on and i love my car!
-
i was thinking about getting a new k&n filter for my 90 loyale. i heard they are good and they might improve performance, but i was wondering if there is any way to hook up one of there high performance intakes on a older model subaru. thanks.
-
what do the six stars on the subaru emblem mean? just wondering.
-
i am looking for a subaru mechanic (not a dealership) near the raleigh, nc area. if anyone knows of one could you pass along the information. thanks.
