  1. Thanks! You'll be missed this weekend, but I'll try to keep it going and hopefully you'll be able to make it to the next meeting! There's plenty of good stories from the trip! Here's a quick summary: The Porsche behaved beautifully (I'm not converting from Subarus, but I LOVE that car!) Its VERY hot in Tennessee and Oklahoma (had forgotten how brutal humidity can be!) Brian and I got engaged!!!!
  2. I'll keep an eye out if its in the neighborhood!!!!!!!
  3. Okay guys and girls, hopefully this thread doesn't get as confusing as the last one! Heres the deal: Saturday July 23 at 6:30. Magnuson Park We will be meeting in the parking lot of Arena Sports in Magnuson Park right on Lake Washington. (on this map it is toward the upper right, right on the water) http://maps.google.com/maps/myplaces?ll=47.683332,-122.265601&spn=0.015197,0.033646&sll=47.629768,-122.301178&sspn=0.231833,0.53833&ctz=420&t=h&z=15 (pleeease tell me if THIS link sends you to a podunk town in Missouri! When I click on it, it works, but that happened with the last one too, and it was sending people to the middle of nowhere! I swear, this meet-up is NOT just a mean joke!) Enter the park from Sand Point Way at the entrance just north of NE 70th St and take an immediate left when you get through the gate. Follow that road back along the edge of the park. You'll pass an outdoor rock climbing wall, and go under a small bridge, and we'll be right there. So far I've got a "yes" or an "i'll try" from 4 of you, and a bunch from earlier in the last thread. Keep 'em coming!
  4. Alright everyone, I want a tally of who is in for the 23rd! Let me know! (even if you're not sure yet)
  5. I’ll put it up for sale when I get back to Seattle!
  6. Awww Ed thats a shame!!! I hoped you’d be able to make it that weekend! I’ll try to maybe keep this going if there’s a good turn out at the first one! Everyone, stay excited!!! I’ll be back in a week or so!
  7. The latest date we selected is July 23rd at 6:30 at Magnuson in the parking lot directly to the left when you enter off of Sand Point way at 70th. Although I don’t know how many people are coming for the new date! I have to keep nagging people and make sure it happens! I’m away until the 11th, but when I get back I’m going to start nagging for sure!

  8. Thankfully I had some help from a friend getting the bumper off. We managed to get it off relatively easily, but I was definitely glad there were two of us working at it! Its not going on my Brat. I love the tube bumper. Sorry Rick! And really, that brush isn't going to burn itself (I hope...) let us know when!!!
  9. Alright everyone, I think we should move this to a weekend so more people can come! Soooo, I'm bumping it up to the weekend before. Saturday July 23rd at 6:30 Same place... unless someone else can come up with something better. I've been to a few meets in that parking lot before and it doesn't get toooooo too crowded from what I've seen. I'm away this next week-10 days, so don't forget to stay excited for the 23rd!!!
  10. Awesome trip to the pull-a-part!!!!!!!! New windshield for next to nothing, a few little odds and ends, spare wheel, and a rear bumper in close to perfect shape! Woooooohoo! So much excitement!
  11. For those of you who have already said Thursday works for you, would the weekend work also? It seems like we'll have a better turn out if it changes to the weekend! What do you all think? I'm planning on bringing some food (maybe I'll go to wongleflute's first and get a bunch of burgers and bring them on down to Magnuson!) so it can be a proper little gathering! I don't think we'll be able to grill or drink in the parking lot at Magnuson... but if I bring food we can certainly eat it there!
  12. Oh, no offense taken, of course! bon jovi might take a little offense, but that's his problem not mine! And thanks! Ed worked his magic on it, and I watched over his shoulder!
  13. Ed fixed it! Thanks Ed! Oh, and Tallwelder... it is most definitely Poison! If bon jovi ever sang it, he was just wishing he could be as awesome as Poison!
  14. I'll keep you updated. Hopefully I won't have to call you a million more times. Sorry about that... I don't want to make you dread the sound of your own ringtone...
  15. Welcome! Can't wait to hear some updates on the Brat project!
  16. Oooooookay, So this thread is now officially turning into a HELP ME thread!!! While I'm still very excited about my new Brat (Yay!) it is not without its issues! No brake lights, running lights, reverse lights, dash lights... and today it won't start. It ran like a champ until today. Yesterday I switched the bulbs out and that didn't do anything (thought maybe because the brakes and the running lights share a bulb it was just bad bulbs). Disconnected and reconnected the fusible links and that didn't help. (Although I did notice that when I started it back up again after that it hesitated for a minute before turning over, which it never did before. But it started up fine after that.) Maybe that has something to do with why it won't start today? I guess that's why they say every rose has its thorn! (I couldn't pass up an opportunity to throw in a good Poison quote! ) HELP please! Thanks
  17. See, no excuse. Ed's got your whole itinerary arranged for you already! I didn't check to see if there were 12V getting to the sockets. However they're just 4 screws away!
  18. So its your turn to come out west, if Turbone was east, right?! Come to WCSS! Really, its just 3500 miles! No biggie! I'm actually heading back east in a week or so to drive a porsche 944 back to Washington. It's no subaru, but I think it will still be fun! heh heh I couldn't take the snow and the cold any more in Maine. And I wanted my car to live forever. I do miss the salty Mainers though! There's one picture of under the hood. Want more?! Update: Its not the bulbs. And no corrosion at all in the sockets! Those are some good seals! It was a fight to get to the bulbs!
  19. Really?!! Weird! haha each time i clicked it it went to the right map. Thanks! I definitely don't want to send people to Missouri!
  20. Ahh, then she'll probably know of Watertown. That's where I'm from! Just a little ways east on the Pike! My grandfather built a house in NJ in Sussex (the town) in the early 50s that my family uses as a summer house now. I'm headed back there in August! I'll be sure to tell northern NJ you and your wife said "hello" And as for your quandry, BOTH! Thats the answer! I'm bringing my Impreza and the Brat! (although admittedly its easier for me because I live right here! Perks of setting up the meet, I can do it close to where I live!) I'm hoping its the bulbs. It would make sense that its the bulbs. There are no lights at all in the rear. No running lights, no brake lights... nothing. Poor Lemmy's butt doesn't light up at all! And they're on different circuits, but they share bulbs (thanks for that little tidbit, Rick! ) so i'm hoping it's bulbs or sockets. I looked for the switch on the brake light pedal yesterday and didn't find it, but thats probably because I don't know what I'm looking for, not that it's not there! heh heh It would be awesome if you could look at the shop manual. I ordered one but it hasn't gotten here yet! Fairtax4me, I haven't been able to wipe that grin off my face! And its been a week now since I brought it home! If I keep making this face, it'll get stuck that way! (at least thats what my mom always told me!) Then i'll just look goofy all the time!
  21. In this thread! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=123996
  22. That was certainly a memorable trip to the car wash... I'm just glad I had my mouth shut when the soap and water came shooting through the corner of the window all over me! The guy spraying the car down definitely got a good laugh!!! I guess I needed a shower.
  23. I keep forgetting to add the mpg! I calculated 28 the other day with a mix of highway and around town driving. Not too shabby!
