  1. Welcome! What kind of Subaru is it?
  2. Didn't get to drive, but got a tour of the place and got to hang out a bit. Manoman, it is AWESOME! And some really awesome people making it all happen! Go there if you get a chance! http://www.dirtfish.com/
  3. There's a few of us. I don't know who does it professionally, but there are a few of us who like to do our own work! Or at least try... (in my case!)
  4. Yay for more Subaru girls! Mobile mechanic sounds like a fun business to have! Welcome! -Lisa
  5. I wasn't on any forums back then. I wish I was though. I had some VERY unqualified people work on my car for me before I knew much about it myself. Looking back now I wish I had thought to join the forum and meet some people who actually knew what they were doing! Could have saved me a lot of headaches and a lot of money! But she's happy now! (Now that I've had competent people work on her [ahem, GD] and have started learning to work on her myself!) I kept the sticker from Norm's Used Cars in Wiscasset, Me on the back though, just to represent the North East out here in Seattle! And to make sure she doesn't forget her roots!
  6. I wish I knew you guys back when I lived in Maine! Here's my '98 Impreza right after I put her new wheels on.
  7. I hope she takes it to heart! Be patient with her. Us ladies can be pretty ornery when we're not feeling well!
  8. As long as she trusts you I'm sure she'll come around. I'm sure she knows its all for her own benefit, it can just be scary sometimes to have your faults strung up for everyone to analyze. But in some cases it really is the best way. And she should know she's safe here. We really just want to make her happy and healthy again.
  9. I thought that scenery didn't look like Illinois! Southwest makes way more sense! And glad you managed to get one thats presumably rust free from LA! Awesome BRAT!
  10. I know. I had planned on going but something came up and I had to go back to the east coast. I made it back to Seattle about 2am the morning of the show and didn't feel like getting up early to get in the car and sit for another bunch of hours after being on the plane! Plus jet lag sucks! But like I said, next year! I'm loving these pictures though!!! For now I'll just live vicariously through the rest of you guys
  11. Ugh, I missed out big time! Should have gone! Next year I guess. :-\
  12. Welcome! Congratulations on the new purchase. Sounds like you're hooked already. You'll be in good company here! I was just in Salt Lake a few weeks ago! Drove through one of the craziest thunder/lightning/wind storms of my life!
  13. Jeanne has some good ideas!!! I'll be there! (unless its between August 19-26. Then I won't be there!)
  14. Thanks you guys for coming! It was a lot of fun even if it was a small turn out!
  15. Oh geez, no early birds, please! I mean, unless you're cool with entertaining your self for 12 hours. You're certainly more than welcome to go hang out in the parking lot all day. If thats what you're into, by all means, don't let me get in the way! Go have fun!
  16. Thanks! I'll be sure to enjoy a nice cold one and tell them to put it on your tab! I was just in the Northeast and then went down to Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma... I felt like I was melting! That humidity is brutal! It was 106 and humid in Oklahoma. I definitely hate this PNW "summer," but I don't know that I would want the sticky humidity of the east coast right now either! A nice sunny day in the mid 80's would be perfect... Seattle still has time to change its mind though... summer here goes until all the way through September. It's not too late!
  17. Hahaha Thanks Ed!!! I hope you're willing to share a teeny bit of that sunshine with us for at least a few hours on Saturday! I'll see to it that there are pictures to share!
  18. that just reminded me... nobody come expecting food! haha i know the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but I'm broke, so feed yourselves! :-p hahaha hope to see you all there!!!
  19. Woohoo!!!! I'm really excited for Saturday! And thanks!
  20. hahaha Thanks!!! I hope my good news doesn't lower the number of people who will come to the meet! THIS SATURDAY!!! GET READY!
  21. Thanks! You'll be missed this weekend, but I'll try to keep it going and hopefully you'll be able to make it to the next meeting! There's plenty of good stories from the trip! Here's a quick summary: The Porsche behaved beautifully (I'm not converting from Subarus, but I LOVE that car!) Its VERY hot in Tennessee and Oklahoma (had forgotten how brutal humidity can be!) Brian and I got engaged!!!!
  22. I'll keep an eye out if its in the neighborhood!!!!!!!
  23. Okay guys and girls, hopefully this thread doesn't get as confusing as the last one! Heres the deal: Saturday July 23 at 6:30. Magnuson Park We will be meeting in the parking lot of Arena Sports in Magnuson Park right on Lake Washington. (on this map it is toward the upper right, right on the water) http://maps.google.com/maps/myplaces?ll=47.683332,-122.265601&spn=0.015197,0.033646&sll=47.629768,-122.301178&sspn=0.231833,0.53833&ctz=420&t=h&z=15 (pleeease tell me if THIS link sends you to a podunk town in Missouri! When I click on it, it works, but that happened with the last one too, and it was sending people to the middle of nowhere! I swear, this meet-up is NOT just a mean joke!) Enter the park from Sand Point Way at the entrance just north of NE 70th St and take an immediate left when you get through the gate. Follow that road back along the edge of the park. You'll pass an outdoor rock climbing wall, and go under a small bridge, and we'll be right there. So far I've got a "yes" or an "i'll try" from 4 of you, and a bunch from earlier in the last thread. Keep 'em coming!
