  1. It is a lovely sailboat! haha There are more of us younger girls who like old soobs out there than you think... you just have to search a little harder! I'll definitely ask him about the alternator. Thanks for the tip! Today's project is figuring out why I don't have brake lights! And getting it properly registered and insured. Got some struts and springs for it yesterday too (thanks Josh!) Ed, I grew up right outside Boston, and then lived in Portland, Maine for 5 years before moving out here 3 years ago. I spent a lot of time in northern New Jersey growing up too! Sussex, right on Lake Neepaulin. I was just there last week! My Impreza lived its first 10 years in Maine. (Part of the decision to move out here was because I wanted my car to last forever and it wasn't going to do that with all the salt on the roads in Maine!)
  2. Thanks for all the congrats! I'm REALLY excited! (in case the first photo didn't illustrate that!) Monstaru, i'm thinking of getting a dog to live in the Brat solely for the purpose of guarding that trim! It is named after Lemmy of Motorhead! I figure naming it after Lemmy will make it the most badass car on the road at all times, no matter where I go! And tallwelder, pick a date and time and let us know! (...just not July 28th at 6:30!) I'm actually from Seattle (well, originally I'm an east coast girl, but I've lived here for 3 years.) I just brought the car up from Portland and it still has the old plates on it.
  3. Its name is Lemmy. I brought it home last Thursday from Portland!!!!! Now my Impreza has a best friend! Built by GD, 1985 GL with an EA82 with SPFI, 5 speed dual range tranny, and rear discs from an '88 EA82T Sedan. Here are the pictures! (also, for those of you who are interested in coming to the Seattle area meet, the pictures are at Magnuson Park where it is going to be!) Me and Lemmy!
  4. Exaaaaactly what I was getting at! While its certainly not ALL WRX and STi guys, there is a general aura of testosterone, and I just don't have that! Monday and Wednesday nights are out for me all summer. So I'm thinking a Thursday evening in late July. Maybe the 28th. I had 2 places in mind: One is the wongleflute's on Holman (if we want food to be involved, remember cash only) The other is the big parking lot at the back of Magnuson Park. I can get a map of that and give directions. But basically its just a big open parking lot on Lake Washington. SO, let me know who is interested in coming on Thursday July 23rd at 6:30 and whether you want food to be involved or not! I'll decide the location based on that.
  5. I just checked the nasioc thread for the wongleflute's meets and the next one is July 6 at 6:30 at the one on Holman. I'm in classes all summer Wednesday nights, so those meets aren't going to work for me, but I know you guys will have fun for me! Any interest in a different day/time? I'd love to go to a meet with a bigger showing of the older generations of subarus also, not just the WRX/STI crowd. I do like them, but I have a feeling I'd stand out a little with my impreza and Brat...
  6. Are they still doing the every other Wednesday night thing? I went to a few of them last year and then they stopped happening for a while. Although maybe they switched to a different wongleflute's? The ones I went to were at the one on Holman, not the Wallingford one. I never really followed through finding out if they stopped all together or just moved. Is there a big showing of USMB'ers at the Nasioc meets?
  7. I want to meet more subaru people in the area. (or from other areas if you want to come, of course!) I'm wondering how many people would be interested in a little get together at some point in the next month or so. Date and place will be decided when I get an idea of how much interest there is out there! Let me know!!! Ok, so lets make this official! Thursday July 23rd 6:30 at Magnuson Park In the parking lot marked Arena Sports Magnuson Soccer Club on this map http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Arena+Sports+Magnuson+Soccer+Club,+wa&hl=en&ll=47.683592,-122.265515&spn=0.024182,0.055747&sll=47.133596,-122.139911&sspn=0.012218,0.027874&z=15. Enter the park from Sand Point Way at the entrance just north of NE 70th St and take an immediate left when you get through the gate. Follow that road back along the edge of the park. You'll pass an outdoor rock climbing wall, and go under a small bridge, and we'll be right there.
  8. Also, my plans for the next warm day in Seattle are to clean up the GT wheels on my cutie car and make them sparkley and pretty again! ...don't want her getting jealous of the Brat!
  9. Way to burst my bubble! Sheesh! It drove from Portland to Seattle nonstop without even a hiccup after sitting for 5 years growing moss! And it just wanted to go faster! There are some minor plans for it. Nothing huge. I don't want to mess with it too much! Thankfully I have a Brat buddy close by to help me out a bit! And maybe I'll make "GD built it up. So its awesome." my signature.
  10. Ooh! Awesome! Thanks! How much do you want for them?

  11. Well, sort of an '85. Body is an '85. It has an EA82 and all sorts of other fun little tricks. I'll start a thread to introduce it soon. GD built it up. So it's awesome.
  12. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I had assumed that the invention of these cool new technologies called a rain coat and an umbrella would make it possible to block rain from impeding our ability to perform basic tasks while rain is falling. Apparently this is not the case... I feel so bad for this car!
  13. I'm trying to save you from a potentially embarrassing role reversal incident! Really, I just have your best interest in mind.
  14. hahahahaha touche, my friend! Logic is just what we call our out of control emotions If I ever meet you I'll be sure to go straight to the kitchen and make you a sandwich. I know my place! Sorry for not contributing anything actually worthwhile to this thread... I had the knock sensor in my 98 Imp go bad last year. But I never really noticed much of a difference in the way it drove before I had it replaced. (It WAS replaced very soon after the CEL came on though). I also had to replace the oxygen sensor a few years back. THAT made the car feel like it was going to cut out and die on me! But it sounds like the knock sensor problem in her case is compounded by the oxygen sensor and the misfire. Poor car. There. I said something that has to do with the actual thread topic!
  15. Oooh I love love love the RS wheels! I love how simple they are. Simple and classic!
