So i probably need to replace the oil pump and stuff and then see if it will run? it wants to start but it cant... SJ

that might be the problem since I have to floor it to get on the highway. I can not tonight but tomorrow. what specific parts of the engine do you need? SJ

the spark plugs? im new to these engines but I feel like im about to learn a lot about them:D oil looks good, we think the oil problem just happened at the same time because its been leaking oil since day one and I just got the oil pump gasket so I think what ever caused the engine to do what it did, blew the oil pump or gasket causing the oil problem. SJ

the turbo isnt in it anymore, actually the original turbo engine isnt in there anymore, its still a 1.8L ea81. SJ

Im going to be taking off the valve covers tomorrow and we are going to look there first. but arnt i still looking at new heads and cam? SJ

I was on my way to school and getting on the highway and the brat just quit on me. so I pulled over to the shoulder and got out and looked at the engine and there was oil everywhere, maybe a blown gasket i dont know. so we brought it back to the house via trailer and i tried to start it while my grandpa tried to find out the reason and he said that it is being shot out the carborator, so instead of the carb sucking it, its shooting it out through the carb. We think it might be the timing gears. anybody know anything about this? i really want to save this car! I love it and will never sell it! I just got done buying all the stuff for the 4 inch lift and now I have this problem, please help. SJ

where is the best place to get the gasket that goes from the head to the y-pipe? autozone and o'reilys doesnt carry them. SJ

yeah, but I dont understand why they didnt take my head unit, 12 inch sub and amp or the 6.5 inch kicker door speakers. SJ

so last thursday night at work around 11, my brat was broken into... your probably wondering how they broke into it.. well they didnt break any windows,no..they didnt pick the locks,no... they pryed out the back window just enough to slide it and break the lock, then they realized they couldnt get to the stuff they wanted because of the jumpseat headrest:lol: but wait, they though how about i just break the headrest, so they turned it 90' . they got away with my new leather jacket my school bag and my new hd camera. but I ask myself why? because my camera was not visible it was in the inside jacket pocket and the school bag was covered by the jacket, and why did they go through the driverside if they new the stuff was on the passenger side. all in all, its not bothering me anymore, i filed a police report and I guess thats as far as I can go. my school is going to refund my books. i just dont know why someone would vandalize a classic! Ive spent the last 6 months rebuilding it! SJ

my 82 brat 4wd has 113K

so i installed my cherry bomb last weekend.. I can hear the exhaust but I mainly hear an exhaust leak coming from the front! its a put put put sound when i hit the gas pedal. any idea's on how to fix this? it might be coming from were the pipes connect to the heads? i heard of things called "donuts" that are gaskets or seals of some sort. SJ

Cherry BOmb exhaust will be here thursday:banana: thinking of putting in a switch for the fuel pump, maybe place the switch on the ceiling of the brat( the plastic piece that pops out) anybody have any pictures of there fuel pump switches or just switches in general? SJ

Yes it does thank you! The smoke does smell sweet. I'm going to get under it tomorrow and look. I guess I should go ahead and get new gaskets anyways. SJ

When I get off the highway and I come to a comPlete stop smoke pores out of the engine bay. There is no sounds or anything runs like a champ but there's smoke. It's coming from down by the oil pan and oil filter I think,that's the general location of the smoke and it's white, doesn't really have a color.amd it goes away after about five minutes or so. All my fluids are full so I have no idea what it is. Any info fill be well appreciated. Thank you SJ
