  1. Avoid the auto drain from Harbor freight! I've tried two different ones on two different (large-ish) compressors and the little hose that comes with them always bursts. If you get that auto drain, be prepared to buy a more solid hose, they might work fine then, but I wouldn't know about that since I just get disgusted when they burst and return them.
  2. The rear kit I ordered is the following. No promises it will work on your stuff. RAYBESTOS Part # WK1945
  3. I was able to get front replacement rubber kits from Oreily auto parts for $3 each. The rear was a lot harder, but rockauto had 4 left. I got two.
  4. Picked up a set of rear discs from Qman this weekend, and since I wasn't feeling too lazy I thought I would clean them up and give them a powder coating. I did one in Wrinkle Red, and the hub and backing plate in Wrinkle black. Looks good, hides damage. I'll shoot the other one tomorrow. It wasn't too hard to take the caliper apart, it was my first time, pretty simple components compared to the giant 8 piston Brembo calipers we had in the shop to fit up to a WRX the other day
  5. I was thinking it should be okay without power being applied to it. I think I'll order an axle and if I can get it changed out before I go, that would be fine too. I hear good things about EMPI axles. Partsgeek seems to be out at the moment (I called) any other good places to get them?
  6. My 82 Brat has a towbar and spent a good part of its life being pulled around behind an RV. The front left axle is starting to click, sounds like it wants to be replaced. I'm going to be moving across the country soon and I want to tow the Brat behind the rental truck, but I'd like to avoid paying to use a dolly when I've got a wonderful tow bar. Would flat towing in neutral on the manual transmission destroy the already damaged axle? I plan on replacing it when I get settled in at the new place, but I'd like to flat tow it without worry of the old one breaking loose and causing damage.
  7. I just had the same problem, no help here, but you aren't alone, at any rate.
  8. Looks like loads of fun, hope to make it out.
  9. When I bought my brat the seats came previously removed without any hardware, never seen an unmolested set. Enjoy your beer, I agree that your post is ridiculous:banana:.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions, welded up brackets today with nuts ant tacked 'em on. Works great. Also attached the head rest to the frame of the seat with an additional brace, so they come out as well easily.
  11. Hello! My 1982 Brat GL has in good condition the jumpseats. However, they were loose in the bed when I got them, and have no hardware. I've been unsuccessful in finding pictures of stock mounting. Who has some good pictures of how they bolt in? Also, I'm interested in making a quick release system to remove them from the bed for hauling my mopeds around. I'm sure people have talked about this before, has anyone done it?
  12. Cool look, what are they from? Also POWDERCOATING. Do it.
  13. Excellent color choices, looks well done.
  14. Hello! I've been patiently waiting for a Brat, and I found a great one. Problem was, it was in Tucson AZ, and I'm from Seattle. So I flew down and got it anyway. Spent 3 days driving back, coming up through LA SF and SAC visiting friends along the way. This Brat is pretty sharp with no rust. Interior needs work, though, but it runs pretty well. Used about 1/2 quart of oil over the 2000 miles back. Not too bad. Glad to be here, I'll be taking it to emissions testing today, cross your fingers!
