  1. Some more pics showing how hella clean my car is one things for sure, i dont let her sit. she's gained some miles since i got her.
  2. here's what i did on the weekend. Buff, wash, wax and a new Tru Cool transmission cooler after a nice fluid flush, so my transmission will live longer than me xD
  3. i was scrolling through ebay, like i do when i'm bored, and was looking for Subaru stuff. I found high pressure oil pumps for the EJ22's and EJ25's. only 66 bucks! A much worth it upgrade IMO. But, i couldnt find any peoples opinions on them. anyone on here ever bought one? They any good? worth buying? Just curious cause my 1996 Legacy now has 220000 miles on her, and i'm sitting at 10 psi fully warmed up at idle. But it does shoot up to about 50 psi everywhere above 2k rpms.
  4. hey. you should give me a comment on my car sometime. always looking for opinions.
  5. good. well what club? i'd like to know. I was thinking about starting a Legacy specific club cause i have 4 of them. we should hang some time. Edit. Woops. You said tri state, i read it as Tri City xD my bad.
  6. are you talking about the Tri Cities Subaru Club? say hi to ivan for me. I had him remove me from that club cause some of the guys were bullying me. yes, bullying. I'd stay away from that club cause the STI owners are mean. Oh, and if the STI guys do start giving you crap about something tell Ivan, he'll kick their butts xD Ivan and Dillon are a couple of the cool guys on there.
  7. ok. cool. and our dealer didn't include the steel ones. it was 26 bucks a piece for the clutches and 24 bucks a piece for the steels.
  8. We went to a local trans shop that ordered them for us, cause the dealer didnt have any in stock and they would have had to order them from Japan, which would have put us off till August. Anyway, the guy put in the correct order (he mic'd the clutches) but his supplier accidentally sent the wrong ones. We'll be taking another stab at this tomorrow. Its cool cause we only paid 60 bucks for the clutches and metal plates, and the DEALER told us to go there! go figure. And i noted the clutches said Allomatic on them, which when googled i found out Raybestos makes them. I'm gonna hope and assume they are gonna be good quality cause Raybestos is legit.
  9. but they seem tight. we got that ring in on top and everything, but u can't physically spin the clutches in the housing by hand. is that normal for New clutches? woops. almost forgot. 1996 legacy outback
  10. I just got done doing 3 changes that way with the cooler. works very well. and anyone have a correct amount of fluid for the trans; torque converter and pan together? the Haynes manuel says 8.3 quarts
  11. Ok. well, it is a 1995, and it is a mess. He said the car was NA when he bought it and hired a guy to install the turbo, custom exhaust manifold, injects, and whatnot for the turbo setup. did this car defy the laws of Subaru reliability? cause he said he drove it for a whole year on 14 psi boost. I pulled the number 1 plug and it was perfect. should have taken a pic but it was the perfect example of a good AF mixture. Here are the pics that i did take though. I honestly think the guy blew up the oil line to the turbo. The part i mentioned earlier where he blew the charge tubing off; that happened a week before this whole oil mess. there's tons of oil on the outside of the engine. btw its been sitting 9 months. well, theres what i have. worth buying? I also forgot to take a pic of it, but i found no signs of oil in the exhaust system. Another thing that leads me to believe in a blown off oil line. forgot this pic Oh, and one thing that keeps upsetting and turning me off this car is, the guy changed a couple of his stories. About the charge tubing coming off, he later told me he stormed out of his house and just took off. he freaked out for a moment thinking he broke the engine but the charge tubing came off cause if a loose clamp. He first told me it came off cause he didnt warm up the car. But still, it didnt start smoking till a week after the tubing incident. and it still runs and drives, just waiting for him to prove cause he cant find the key atm.
  12. i read this whole entire thread before i went to bed last night. made me dream about my old 1988 GL-10. Wish i still had her. Hope to see you having your car up and going again.
  13. I told ya I talked to him directly (face to face) last night. I think he calls it a 1995 cause it might be post june 1994. I'll end up finding all this out today cause I'm going to look at the car.
  14. finished doing my Outback brake swap. stops waaay better now.
  15. well, since the days of carburated cars is over, you can no longer buy just a vacuum gauge. so, yeah.
  16. ok. well, my first post was from going off info my grandma got from the guy. i just talked to him myself tonight. Heres the new info + a question: Was the 2.2 turbo an option for the the 1995 Sedans, cause i found out it i a sedan, not a wagon, and its an auto but i want the car none the less. He tells me he put a stage 2 turbo on it and claims he didnt warm up the new turbo right. he said he blew the charge tubing off and the car started to smoke like hell, but still runs. i think he blew up the turbo up. what do you guys think?
  17. well guys, we have bought 2 more Subaru's since last time i posted. We bought a 1995 Legacy LS from Elensburg (500 bucks), and a 1995 Legacy Outback 2.2 from yakima (2100 dollars).
  18. They guy says he'll sell it to me for 1000 bucks. here's the bad He decided to overhaul it and "freshen" it up. New bearings, rings, gaskets and whatnot. Well, after doing all that, he says he didnt "warm it up right on the first start up" and claims he fried the rings. I've never heard of someone frying a ring; what does that mean? and would the engine be rebuidable? is the price ok? thank you for all input. Oh, and its mated to a 5 speed.
  19. no at temp light flashing. all tires matching and same size. front rear diff appear to be the same. the trans has never been replaced. I think.
  20. Well, when we bought this outback, we replaced the transfer clutches they looked like someone towed the car with a dolly. The clutches were burnt up and destroyed the housing. Now, that said, before we tore it down and found that out, when doing the tight turn test it would buck real hard. Well, now we are back to that point. we had the trans fluid changed and its already dark and smells burnt, and its bucking again, even when you take a tight turn with NO power put on . When we put in the FWD fuse, all problems go away. Any idea as to why this trans is chewing up the clutches? Oh, and it (the AWD) worked fine for the first month after putting them in. Or so we thought. We never really did any tests to see if it was working.
  21. actually the housings for the cats woukd still be there, so I would still be able to screw the o2 sensor in. I just don't want a code
  22. I'm not worried about emissions where I live. we don't have check ups. I would just like to remove the cats and not have a check engine light.
  23. is this a legit fix? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110531170853AAflhLq xD. they talk about removing the rear o2 sensor, while keeping it plugged in, and zip tying it off to the side in the open air. Then just plug the hole.
  24. i cant seem to find anything on it. i would like to eliminate it so i may remove my bad cats.
  25. Sweet. thank you! Now i'm stoked. gonna get what i need from the junk yard tomorrow. and yeah, my 17's will fit those brakes no problem.
