both billows are shot. how hard are they to replace? rack and pinion billows btw.

Under the dash on the drivers side. you sometimes have to remove the plastic cover under there.

I would love to do one of those shift kits on my Legacy, where all you have to do is pull the pan and put a few parts on the valve body and such, but they dont seem to exist :/ you would think as popular as these cars are, someone would make one. does anyone here know of a shift kit for these cars? 1996 Subaru Legacy.

everything looks very nice. I would hope your gonna have that security system professionally installed. waaay too many horror stories of wiring issues. Ranging from car not starting and system wont work, to vehicle fires :/

Replaced my valve cover gaskets last night, and did some painting. Use the pic in the last post as a before pic. Heres the after: Would have painted the brake fluid resevior cap too, but didnt know what to put on top to keep moisture out while i was painting. Also, painted the valve covers:

got a new washer fluid tank today. pump for rear washer was seized.

is it ej22'd? how much power do you have? it doesn't bog down and die when you hit deep mud does it?

Turbo Subaru's arent common in my area, unless its a WRX STI. I'll actually spend less money swapping a 2 liter turbo engine into my Legacy then buying the 05 STI that i want, and the Legacy would be more badass since a turbo one is non existant in my state. And bratman, if i had 3 g's on the side right now, i would soooo be all over that front clip, and possibly a right hand swap at the same time. lol.

Wanna swap a turbo engine into my 1996 Legacy, and a EJ22 turbo is really hard to find. i have actually found one locally with only 30000 miles on it, but the guy wants 900 bucks for just the motor, than i have to try and find a 5 speed to put behind. here's what he said. all I asked is what he physically noticed and asked in the trans temp light was on. Not that I noticed. I was driving home and it sounded like gears weren't being engaged when it was supposed to shift but once I got going it wasn't bad mostly first taking off. I did a diagnostic and code p0740 came up and that is torque clutch malfunction. and thanks for the links.

my search function isn't working and there is a 1996 legacy I'm looking at with trans problems. he had AutoZone scan it and got that code. explains something about the torque converter
