  1. Lucky you. My front hub passenger side wouldn't give up the axle. Replaced the hub and axle. Had the old axle pressed out of the old hub, come to find out the splines were twisted. You usually only see that on trucks. :-/
  2. Engine vin is 3. I got the precise production date through the dealer. He said is interference and so does the production date since after 6/1996
  3. Alright. So production date is August 9th 1996 so my engine is interference. Any timing belts kits you guys recommend???
  4. Help please. I can't find the build date on my car. I'm used to finding it on the door sticker but it's not there.
  5. ************. Yes to both xD Hey. Um. Is the ej22 interference or not???
  6. On my 1996 2.2 legacy, car fax says the timing belt was last replaced at 106000 miles. I know you can't say a timing belt is good just by looking at it.what things should I look for to determine whether or not I should replace my belt?????
  7. Do the ej22 and ej 18 use the same timing belt kit and water pump??? I'm trying to get a kit off of eBay and most of the ads say it fits the 1.8 and the 2.2. So they the same???
  8. Yeah. We just got the chemical injection working on our carpet cleaning truck, so I'm gonna clean her again and see if I can get her a little cleaner.
  9. yeah, i think it looks cool. I plan to one day build a Legacy GT-B out of this thing. The JDM import site has the twin turbo 2.0 i'm looking for, but at a price $$$$ FTM, i want to just drive the thing to commute, so i'm gonna do cosmetic things here and there. She's gonna be sweet when i'm done, as long as some idiot doesnt hit me and ruin everything i have planned. ATM, i'm just excited i was able to get her for 400 bucks, put in a battery and upper coolent hose, and drive her home. I was already driving her the next day! I'm sooo happy to have this Legacy. i have wanted one of these body style Legacy's since i was 7 years old.
  10. PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICS!!!!!!! Warning: contains explicitly disgusting pics of how the car was when i bought her. How can people treat a car like this? Oh, forgot to take a pic of the engine after cleaning *facesmack* After the first cleaning: still lots of cleaning left to go. I got the dash and all the door panels cleaned, and the center consul cleaned. Need to get more pics. I've cleaned all the seats and floors again. and like i said, gonna do it a third time this Wednesday. Hope to get more out. Oh, and check this out. i took a pic of the waste water from cleaning her the first time:
  11. sweet. thank you. now i know not to put a fuse in it, and when to put a fuse in it. and i already knew what FWD stood for i just needed to know the purpose of this fuse jack.
  12. In my all wheel drive 1996 Legacy, there is this fuse holder under the hood on the passenger side. It has FWD printed on it, and when i opening it there was no fuse present, but prongs like one is supposed to be there. i have a Haynes manual but found nothing on said fuse. anyone know what it is?
  13. problems solved! i cant wait to drive this suby ^.^ everything works. 208000 miles and everything works, even the A/C! Power windows, power door locks, all works. only problem im having right now: tried to replace front CV axles; drivers side CV came out perfectly, passenger side CV; the splines have a death grip on the hub. have to replace the whole assembly. going to the junk yard tomorrow.
  14. So, i picked up my 400 dollar legacy tonight. she started right up even after sitting since 2009, drove her home. 1 mechanical problem; CV axles. here's the other problems: Rear turn signals didnt work, found out lights were blown A/C heater fan doesnt come on radio shot none of the the gauges work, not even the odometer power windows dont work checking fuses tomorrow. too dark to do anything.
  15. I thought the day would never come! i bought a 1996 Subaru legacy station wagon with the EJ22 for 400 bucks!!!!! i really wanted to buy my 88 GL-10 back, but my grandparents wouldnt let me. they didnt like it cause they said it was too small. Well, i have the station wagon of my dreams, and i hope to swap a 5 speed into it and build it. The platform is right, and its the car i wanted pics soon. i go pick her up tonight.
  16. HOLY ************ YOU GUYS! I actually found my subaru. After searching on Carfax then putting out a searching add on CL, the guy contacted me at 6:30 this morning cause someone up there put a note on the car with my number saying i'm looking for my car. the guy actually said he was kinda freaked out when he found the note xD he thought i drove all the way up to leave the note.
