Do you use Fuel Injector Cleaner every 3K mi. as Subaru recommends?
I can tell you MMO cleans out catalytic converters. They were plugged up pretty bad on my truck to where they were killing power, but the truck has no post o2 sensor so it didn't throw a code. I ran MMO in the fuel for 600 miles and not only did it clean out the cats, I got back some missing power. Now this is a truck the we have owned since it was brand new off the lot and we have never ran a fuel additive in the tank since we bought it and it now has a 104,000 miles. I ran Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel and when I decided to pull the catalytic converters they were spotless. They were so clean I held it up 2 light and you could see right through them. Now I don't know about you but if you can make a catalytic converters that clean I'm pretty sure Marvel Mystery Oil is good for something. My buddy also put it in his Honda engine that you fired up in the morning it would burn a little oil and now it doesn't burn any oil at all. The oil burning went away after about 200 miles. Of course that 200 miles came fast for him because he drives 80 miles a day so yeah. I'm a strong believer in Marvel Mystery Oil. I had a 1991 Mazda Navajo that had a few running issues so I ran Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel with the fuel pressure regulator disconnected. After about 500 miles I noticed a huge improvement in acceleration and throttle response. No I probably want to ask somebody on the forum first about doing this to my Subaru because I don't know if the fuel rail would be able to hold up to full pressure all the time. Anyone have any input on that???

Rwd ej22
I see that over confidence issue in the snow every year, but with idiots in big rump roast trucks. They think their ginormous tires give them better traction right before they crap themselves cause they almost killed someone. They just don't think they have to slow down like everyone else.

Since we have not had a good religon discussion lately. lets talk religon - Motor Oil
soobie_newbie67 replied to nipper's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXCool. Thanks GD. I was going off what I learned from a 40 years experienced ASE certified teacher I took 3 years with in an automotive technologies class. IMO. The most important thing is to get the correct service grade and viscosity. Just my 0.02

soobie_newbie67 replied to nipper's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXActually Ivan all oil is not the same. And I'm not talking about the differences between synthetic and conventional. Things you need to look for when checking out oil is the service grade. As of this year the current survice grade is SN. Also be looking on the front of the oil bottles for the starburst symbol. It says American Petroleum Certified around the edges and "For Gasoline Engines" in the center. On the back you wanna look for what's called API Service donut. It states the service grade of the oil, oil viscosity, and may or may not say energy conserving. Just keep this in mind folks: as long as you use the viscosity rating and service grade (or higher, never lower) that your car calls for and the oil you are buying has the starburst symbol on the front, you are buying a quality oil.

soobie_newbie67 replied to nipper's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAh. Over hear cheapest oil you get is Federated. A little parts store called 9 to 9 auto parts sells it at 3.49 a qt. It's legit stuff. We have a 2000 Chevy k2500 p.u. with a 454 that we have used said oil in since we bought it new with 91 miles on it. Replaced valve cover gaskets at 104000 miles and the heads were still silver. Spotless. I also used the stuff in a 1994 Plymouth grand voyager 3.8. The inside of the engine wasn't perfect put after just 2 oil changes those heads were clean. I know cause I had to do a intake manifold gasket.

My tires are too big.
Well I hope your right. I called the dealer and the service guy told me it has a speedometer cable. I don't believe him. I couldn't find a cable anywhere.

SVX bad solenoid C (transfer clutch solenoid) - drivable?
So, I don't mean to thread jack or anything, but is it a good thing that I did these procedures and the AT temp light didn't flash at all???

My tires are too big.
Well. On Monday I'm gonna call the dealer and see if they can calibrate it. I downloaded a speedometer app on my phone and found out I'm doing 65 @ 60 on the dash. Around town no problems through. Doing 36 @ 35 on the dash.

Bumping for an answer please

My tires are too big.
Can't I just use a speedometer sending unit from an outback that uses 205/70-15 tires? Or do I have to go to the dealer and have it calibrated?
-
My tires are too big.
Actually I did notice something interesting. You would think it shouldn't work this way, but I noticed my car moves along better and steers better with these tires. :/ Oh yeah. And what will I have to do to fix the speedometer difference issue???
-
My tires are too big.
So I should get better fuel mileage too xD. The engine will be turning less rpm's while the speed is upped.
-
My tires are too big.
Alright. Today I successfully put outback rims and 205/70-15 tires on many legacy l and I was wondering, since my stock tires were 185/60-14, how badly will my speedometer be affected and how hard will it be to correct???

tranny cooler question
Actually the dri-************tiez has a very off the wall climate. It changes unexpectedly.

turboing N/A ej22 question
Alright. I think I'm gonna pitch the idea for now then and just wait till I order the legacy gt-b engine cause I will have to change the cross member for that too. No since in removing the engine twice.

turboing N/A ej22 question
I believe GD told me the ej22 is capable of taking 10 psi on stock internals, or was that a dream? There's a legacy (gen before mine) and I was wondering if it would be possible to grab the y pipe turbo and downpipe and swap them directly into my engine. And what would I have to go through to run the oil supply line and return line.
-
tranny cooler question
Ok. I got the cooler installed and I'm good to go. Installed it like the picture shows. And replaced both of the rubber hoses, I think they were the originals.

tranny cooler question
Ok. Thanks. That's funny. I thought there was no such thing as too cool when it came to autos. My next question is: which of the 2 lines is the return? I'm assuming it's the lower one.
