97 Leggy bad mileage, repeat question, but the old thread is gone
kenpdx replied to kenpdx's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXFront was changed with OEM. The car actually runs well, a little "off" but not anything super noticeable, just crappy mileage.

97 Leggy bad mileage, repeat question, but the old thread is gone
97 Leggy 2.2 auto tranny with 193,000 miles. I've been getting increasingly worse mileage the past 6 months (from 29ish overall to 20-22 MPG). The following have been addressed: New 02 sensor, fuel filter, air filter, oil change/w filter. So, WTF? Plugs (NGK) are recent, I checked them and re-gapped them, wires are kinda old, no idea on EGR, and PVC valves. Ideas, comments, funny embarrassing stories?

Good Start, bub! Question: On the EJ 4" lift. If I already have OB struts then would it be 2"blocks for the struts and then standard gig for the rest? I know, stupid ?, but I'm looking to get serious about a proper lift here in a couple months.

driving without a hood - or vote for which way to transport
kenpdx replied to idosubaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt'll also be over a lot quicker and save the FD from having to pry the hood open which isn't nearly as fun as it may seem. Now, the Jaws of Life on the other hand......... And a hell of a lot better light show! Former fire fighter

Cool. Question: are the lifts you build strut lifts only or do you make (or plan to make) body lifts? I've got OB struts already and am looking to put 2-3" under it with a body lift. Thanks!

new to subaru
looking good. I just put OB struts on my Legacy and the tires look tiny as well. Gotta love having more air under it!

OB interior lights in Leggy L
Howdy all, I'm looking to put the fancy 2 lights by the rear view interior set up from an OB in my leggy and was wondering if the wiring was there or if I'll have to magic something up? Thanks ahead of time for any feedback!

Hi all from another NW Loyale
welcome from PDX. Nice ride! My 2nd and 3rd Soobs were Loyales and I loved 'em. Sold my 87 DL to my nephew for $100 with 279,000 miles. That one should keep embarrassing your daughter for years to come!

Nice thing here in the PNW is no salt/very little rust despite the wetness of the west side. thankfully, mine's and east side/desert car. Second the sears wrench set, fwiw.

Strut install help
kenpdx replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXPut a 17cm box end wrench on that side and use the cheater bar set up on the other to back out the bolt. the wrench will bottom out and hold so you can spin he bolt out. Just did this myself 6 times this weekend.

Strut install help
kenpdx replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI do the bar/pipe thing as well and if you can round up a 2 foot piece of 1.5 inch PVC pipe, that works as well. If it's super stuck it may not do it, bit I've loosened some seriously stuck stuff with the PVC cheater.
