  1. Thanks! I found out that the 6th digit in the VIN tells you the specific engine type.
  2. Hi guys, I've been looking for various parts online for my 1991 Loyale and have come across something that stumps me. I have not been able to find anything in my searches either. So the auto parts stores always ask what engine I have. They give me two options: H4 1.8L vin 4 1781cc - TBI GAS or H4 1.8L vin 5 1781cc - TBI GAS. How do I tell which one I have? Thanks, Nick Oh, my VIN is JF2AN52B6MD411629
  3. I expect that as soon as tomorrow I will be the proud owner of a 91 Loyale 5 spd. w/push button 4wd. The engine has 220K on it, but has been kept well. The wagon has a 2" lift and 28" BFG mudders on it. To clear things up, I am not looking for mad power out of this thing. I am just curious if there are things like intakes and exhaust (including headers) that are available for these cars and where I can get them. Are they worth it? What do you recommend? I am open to any suggestions (including: "Don't touch it. If it aint broke, don't fix it":))
  4. Hi guys This looked like the right place to post this. I am new to the Subaru world and have decided to take the plunge. I need an affordable 4wd/AWD vehicle to drive (and have fun in), so what's better than a Subaru right? So I found a 1992 Loyale DL 5spd. manual AWD at a local dealership for a good price. The car looks like it has hardly seen the road, but has 176K mi. on it. What are some things I need to look for with this thing? What are the more common issues with the Subaru engines and manual tranny's from this model? Any and all help is much appreciated. Looking forward to being a proud new Subaru owner.
