  3. oh yeah< if u could help me figure out how to post pics that would be sweet
  4. spare parts he says lol. ya i can think of a few. both front axles ( or the stuff to rebuild mine), any and all body panels, clutch cable. the more i look at the car the more i find rotted but it seems that all the rot in on the body and nothing mechanical. i had the plastic off of the door sills and i see daylight all the way back. but thats what im into so i cant complain. really wish i could find a cheap doner car with a good body and no drive train. hard to find stuff in iowa huh? this site and you guys on it r very good at what u do and im glad to have found it. im a subaru lover for sure now lol so i thank u for not getting the car or id still be in my lincoln and rotted out isuzu pickup.
  5. well i bought my first soob a couple months ago and i love this rusty little car (83 gl wagon, ea81 4sp DR), to the point i sold my 2000 lincoln ls cause all it does is sit. picked it up for 250 bucks. needs some work but whatever, the work is most of the fun ya? i have plenty of ideas on what to do with it and now that i dont have the silly car payment (the lincoln) let the fun begin. i gotta figure out how to post pics and ill keep u updated.
  6. well...... seems like a lot more work than i really have the knowledge to do. thanks for the input. maybe i should rethink my plans and come up with a more realistic and reliable method for making my toy/dd. also i meant to say since i live in iowa i CAN'T find parts anywhere, and honestly i dont even know what parts i need to do anything. i can mess with v8's and solid axles but this flat 4, independant stuff is tricky to me. i have this vision in mind but just not real sure how to go about it, ive read a lot of threads and im sure its all good stuff im sure IF i knew what people were talking about lol (new to the soobie world). anyways i appreciate ur advice:)
  7. i have a 83 gl wagon and it has nooo power. i know the 81 engine was gutless to begin with so i guess my question is will it be enough motor to turn over 32s off my friends chevy. and if i do upgrade where oh where can i find a engine suitable for bigger tires and playing in some mud? i live in iowa and can find soob parts anywhere.:-\
  8. just found this post... freakin wicked. bravo good sir, bravo
  9. i have noticed the rear end is quite a bit higher than the front, any input on raising the front would be awesome. i want the car level but i dont wanna lower the back. i do plan on lifting the whole thing eventually. BTW the guy that owned the car gave u props on ur brat do u have pics up somewhere id love to see it
  10. i bought that wagon, body is rough, fixed the rod already and the subframe. have less than 300 in the car and it runs like a top. everything works right down to the ac and cruise. needs a driver window motor but ill have that taken care of soon. im pretty sure im not a "sucker".
