  1. Well i sold some stuff (still need to sell my xt6 and gl10) and bought this, thought i would share.

its a 5 SPEED aspen white, 04 forester xt with 116,000 on it, big Perrin top mount, and intake.no name headers, stock TD04, and no name 3 inch TBE.

running k sport gt pro coilovers (right now going to end up changing it)

it does need a new tune and a cobb AP to get rid of the open source tune, i am getting a Carbon fiber scoop tomorrow as well.

  2. Depends on cash flow, a good running ea82t could be had pretty cheap.(around here anyways.)

Or you could find a N/A block and make it turbo. it would also raise the compression ratio.

rebuilding would work too but it might start costing more than a donor engine.

If you have some money to kick around then obviously get the ej22t.:-p

that thing would be "rally" fast.

    Awesome car btw!

I'm not looking into just swapping engines (ea82t). Or building a N/A block to become turbo (too much work and non reliable). If I stuck with the ea82t, it would be rebuilt.

I'm even considering buying another 22t (keeping the one for the brat on the side). And rebuilding that, then swapping it in...

I don't want the hassle of having a engine fail on me, if I don't know the history on it... Even tho it's more money up front it could save me later.

Thanks! I love it, still got a couple things I wanna do after the engine deal tho! :headbang:

  3. Well done Sir!!!

I have acquired every seal/gasket/bearing I can find to rebuild my EA71 and 4-speed trans yet I still want to do this.

But I bought yet another Subaru last month a 2005 Legacy GT Wagon Manual. So now I am headfirst into that one, lol.

I digress. Can't wait to see what you do to the Brat.

Nice. I'm hopefully going to move my dads trans am, so I can have a garage, engine hoist, and concrete to work on it but its gonna get done since I have all the parts now.

  4. Well i got it in, working, Reverse lights work, im just trying to figure out the diff lock switch... it has 6 prongs, and i looked at my rx parts car and the plug is hard wired into the harness....

would it be possible to use a different switch (like a push button one) or a rocker switch instead, since thats 3 wires ?

also is there a difference between the RX speedo cable (on analog gauges) VS a push button speedo cable for a DIDGI dash???

my speedo is off a couple mph for some reason, and it seems to fluctuate a lot more then before...

  5. rear mount turbo it! basically put the turbo at the end of the exhaust and run your piping from there. you need a high temp oil pump but thats about it. and with the tight spaces in that engine bay it seems like the only answer..

    heres a how to http://www.junkyardturbos.com/Rear-Mount-Turbo.php

    :burnout::headbang:

i do like that idea, but this is what i am thinking... (gave me the idea for the turbo instead of supercharger)

i dont want the turbo on the bottom cuz of snow... :/

  6. Alight well I really haven't worked on this... Got to busy with buying a jeep and then having the xt6 have a full clutch failure. Then a transmission swap on my gl10.

I need a better welder for this, because the wire feed just isn't working to well...

  7. A Turbo is gonna be more easy. But a Super charger is cool!

yeah i wanna supercharge it, but i really dont wanna hack the hood etc. it needs to be stealth unless i can get my hands on a oem svx supercharger intake...

turbo im going to end up porting the valves
