  1. Well I got it all fixed but i have to live with cracks in my BRAND NEW tie rod ends lol no way of getting em out with popping them . You learn from your mistakes though, this was my first time doing Bj's or tie rods . So i shot some grease in there and loosened everything up a bit, put the tires on dropped it down and then retightened everything . Tires are straighter and not toed in but it still barely moves up and down but i think thats because of the lift . Alignment tomorrow ! thanks for the input .
  2. Ok sweet ! I'll probably just go see you because I haven't had very good luck with the les Schwabs here . I figured out my problem I think ! I have my tie rod ends tightened to far up on the thread causing the tires to toe in a lot . So tomorrow getting a pitman arm and readjusting the tie rods, loosening the Bj bolts and set it down then tighten everything to where they should be and hopefully that'll fix lol
  3. No worries lol I have 215/75/15s that are drilled for my offload tires . Which I haven't even used yet and 205/60/15s with pugs for on road . And that's lame I would not buy tires from them even if mine were bad
  4. I planned on going to get an alignment after i was done ... My alignment got kinda bad after i lifted it but my wheels are also not balanced right . ( cheap a** tire shop threw on some "sticky" type weights on and not the ones that goes on the bead of the rims ) so they came off doing doughnuts in the previoius snow we had. And the bj and tie rod ends rubber was ripped . and i dont have redrilled rims on right now. i have 15" pugs
  5. Also everytime i go back and forth i hear a " click ", it didnt do that before but i checked all my Cv's and none of the boots are torn . So i think im good there .
  6. From now on if I don't know something I'm asking on here instead of someone else .! Lol I asked one of my buddies and he said to tighten everything up while in the air ... So after I'm done doing my buddies front end on his 80 wagon back to the garage I go ! And it's not a AWD auto , 5 sp manual . And Rob I'd love to come up there but I don't even feel comfortable driving out of my driveway ! Im also running no sway bar .
  7. So i just got done doing my balljoints and tie rods ends, rotors and pads on my 88 gl and i put everything back together make sure i tightened everything down right and put new cotter pins in . It was sitting in my garage for a couple days on jacks . Dropped it down today and the tires were sitting kinda toed in like this \ / Went back & forth a couple times seemed to even out but my buddy noticed everytime i went to go forward the front end would lift up like 4 in and when I'd go to throw it in reverse and go it would drop back down . And when id go to drive it just felt like it was all over the place . Very bad wobble . My tires need to be balanced but i dont think that could've caused it . Could i have messed the camber/castor up that bad when doing the suspension ? I live like a 1/2 mile from a les schwab where i plan to go get an alignment in the morning but i almost dont even trust it to drive over there w/o messing something up, it feels that weird.. Any input would be appreciated , need to get this frickin thing done ! Thanks guys Oh and it has a 2" lift
  8. Ive had the oil pump seals for a couple weeks. Should i go OEM or Felpro for HG and what other seals do i need ? Just did the valve covers today ... I'm thinkin that if i gotta pull the motor it might be time to consider an EJ ... hmmmmm
  9. Is there any type of temporary HG sealant that i can stick along that seam ? Or is it HG time haha
  10. Just got done doing both balljoints and tie rod ends, went with MOOG parts thanks to the forum Also new rotors and pads, bled all the brakes. Doing the valve cover gaskets in the morning and getting my tires balanced and probably an alignment
  11. I believe I found the source of the coolant leak ! Passenger side head gasket . Yayy Only leaks when sitting over night or a couple of days in the garage . And stays dry when I'm driving it everyday . Small sized puddle built up over the past couple days . Guess I didn't look hard enough last time lol

Damnit ! Lol I knew I should've waited to hear back from you or josh . I have her in the garage now, doing my Bj's and tie rods. Rotors and pads and possibly wheel bearings but I should have all that done by tomorrow or so . I'll get ahold of you .

  18. Skylar replied to Skylar's topic in Off Road
Yeah I was just starting to think about that... And If you could do that for me man that would be awesome ! I don't have much experience with welding, just some oxyacetylene . So I couldn't do it myself lol And extending my radius rods isn't gonna make the tires stick out will it ? It just moves the ball joint forward not out ?

Here's a crappy pic of the 215's on . Got them drilled out ..... Let's just say I got ALOT of trimming to do..... Could I go with 3" blocks in the front to get it level and not have to drop the x-members ?

Jeff, Josh, and Rick from NWWO for helping me and "tobias" get a our rigs lifted and setup. Also for the learning experience, we caught on pretty quick on how to do the 2" lift and it was fun . We didn't get too many pics like we said we would but i think most of you guys get the idea lol . Right before we left : And here's some from the garage, Front Blocks: After it was done: Doing the rear: Didn't get any of Rogers build cause it was dark and outside but here's his: He found a new spot to play in lol: And mine: My dog decided to jump in this one haha: 205/60/15s My 215/75/15s that need to be drilled ! And last but not least ... My rear end Thanks guys !
  24. I found a tiny pinhole that was in my upper radiator hose. So i replaced both hoses and had it up on ramps attempting to "burp" the system. Not sure if it worked or not but i filled it up with more coolant, massaged hoses etc LOL and its still dripping coolant ! Theres fresh drops just sitting around the seal/edge of the oil pan gasket. Mainly in the front right behind the belt covers . So idk im done with it for now im just gonna keep driving it and check the coolant level. it doesnt seem to be using coolant so whatever fine with me LOL Drive her til she blows
