  1. You should see my wagon... It's my first SPFI swap and I used too big of gauge of wire... and on top of that the remote start box and the wiper control are there.. the panel barely fits. Anyway back to the topic on hand... I did it, and it was ghetto. I regretted doing it for one reason... you cannot hide the awful wiring! I had no issues with heat or moisture of any kind... only ran it in the rain, didn't get a change to run it in the snow... don't know where the car ended up... I'd NEVER do it again.
  2. I think Mike took one.. maybe...I don't need more Jeff on Mike pics...:-\
  3. No love for the two five:confused: If you search pirates, you can obtain then for about $400 or so... for a long block. I bought mine at that, and was offered another a few months ago at the same.. BTW, last time I checked the 2.2-2.5 was a 35 HP difference... I said HGs because I didn't know he had a knock;)
  4. I drove mine out of the ocean early last year.... its an EA81 D/R... and a pile.
  5. Everyone is a Jerk. Except Mike and surprisingly Jeff. See you two at the next "meet". :-\
  6. so no one in town will drop a 2.2 shorty into your car? Why not? Also, Why do you want this done, Why not just keep the 2.5 and have new HGs loaded into it?
  7. If you know anyone one with an Rx with the AWD D/R tranny.. have them give you a ride... Its a stock 3.7 gear ration, but in low it should feel like a 4.44 or so IIRC... but it's really hard to tell the difference...
  8. ^^ thats one of the reasons I converted the wagon.. my carb was failing and I had no love to rebuild it. There is also another advantage if you might wheel it... No upwards fuel starvation. But in my boo, the drivability and lack of maintenance is well worth it... Ohh! and On my wagon, thanks to the lack of compression, I run a snot load of timing... really makes her move.
  9. I got a pile of rust in the shape of a BRAT... looka like this: It's not coming... just thought I'd share:banana: Roni is coming... and just a reminder.... 7-11 on 6th & Washington 10 A.M. Today, Saturday boat leaves at 20 after... so call someone if ya gonna be late...
  10. I did it to my lifted BRAT.... I had a REALLY CRAPPY and Rigged carb before(not my own device) and did the swap... I got about 32 MPG and it'd make it past 90 MPH (but start overheating at that point ) All and all a great swap, with much better drivability. It was the second SPFI swap I did... my first was to my lifted wagon which I still run... I've had some recent problems with it and water getting my coolant temp sensor... but I was managing about 25 MPG with my 29"s... Here's the both of them...
  11. My water pump is leaking too.... but to hell with it! Damn brand new carquest junk! Wagon has a new power steering pump and mount, loose belts, fresh oil, and a new hood release! It's just so fancy.
  12. I didn't realize I was that scary... GOSH!
  13. 8 days away... anyone want to get this thread back on track?:-p Mike deserves a hot juicy burger....
  14. I'm impressed... looks great!
  15. You suck! I'm hoping to "get lucky" at the yards tomorow... I really need that rear junk...
  16. I think the real sign is you spelling apocalypse correctly!:-p
  17. It should be about the same... depending on how tall you are and how tall the seats are. Basic mounting requires bending and cutting a touch, nothing serious, but if you are tall(cannot remember) then you might have to lower the seat... which is a pain... The seat should be an ok height... the STi seat is much taller and it still fit in my XT without hitting the roof. Yeti... hush you!
  18. ohhh... Here's the switches
  19. sorry.... you got raped! I paid like $200 shipped for my one a few years ago.
  20. Isn't that what I said? FYI I asked my father how to spell Beau Jos... I had no idea.
  21. The legacy it longer, but I doubt wider. My new front seats really go back far! I also have the floor mats and rear rubber mat in my wagon. The front mats are a bit long, and the rear mat fits great in the back of my wagon....Hits one side a bit, but it's good enough.
  22. So I'm thinking we meet at the gas station at 10 am then head down 6th towards 70, then to the beaujo's here: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=JhY&resnum=0&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=bo+jo%27s+pizza&near=Idaho+Springs,+CO&fb=1&cid=0,0,13514799341330689998&sa=X&oi=local_result&resnum=1&ct=image Then we'll sit around and take annyoing pictures of Jeff to post...and... I donno what else.
  23. More pics for those interested. Here is where the fronts bolt by the seat belt I elongated the bolt and cut the top of the mount off to allow the belt to go through. The back of the rear seat isn't quite done yet... it gave me some troubles as far as mounting goes... The bottom is held in by the stock hinges, cut shorter and holes drilled... The back was bolted to it's stock mounts... I wanted to try and get pegs on it so it would mount like the old seat, but the blasted screws were too tight, so I just drilled holes. The center mount required a spacer... gonna kinda kill my flat "bed" when the seat is down. Installed!
  24. Didja get the driver's into the car yet? My scheme was to cut the "feet" offa the stock rails and weld them to the sti rails. lika so But then they were to high for my XT so I cut into the car where the seat bolted and lowered that... it was quite the pain.....
