ignition problems :/
But not in my car, or the ignition you are thinking of Working on my neighbor's wife's brother's 86 GL waaagon. The key is very hard to get in and out of the ignition and it is hard to get it to turn as well, like it's not lining up. Is there some secret quick fix(other then oil/silicone , tried that) that might help? Would a new key help at all, or is just new ignition time?

SPFI-vrs-CARB., 1.8, Is there a difference?
I have an ex-carbby wagon.. I put SPFI on it and it runs a bit rich (or so the Etest says) Runs great otherwise, ShawnW was impressed with it's speed Vs a Baja.. and I've even got a lift with 29's... But like stated, you probably would lose a bit of power, but then again you can advance the snot out of the timing and still run regular since the compression is lower.

is it worth it?
Think I paid $200 for my running driving wagon... and it's not even really rusty.

17" Wheels on a RX????
I also have 17"s on my XT-6, with "5 lug swap":-p They are stock LGT wheels, 17x 7 or 7.5.. I do not recall which. I also run 205/40R17s and have not bent a rim and I've hit some pretty nasty holes. Biggest problem I see is that if my tire was too much taller it'd hit the suspension in the front. Also this tire is with in 1% of my stock 195/60R14(IIRC) size. Heres a pic.

go with a 4" lift:banana: MAN that rack is pricey! I priced what I wanted and it was like $413 BEFORE getting bent over on the shipping! OMG! looks sweet tho.

1987 RX Project Guidance needed!
EJ anything > EA anything. Even if you swap in a EJ22D N/A it will still be a huge improvement.

Opinions on Austin, TX anyone?
I've been there a few times... My sister lived by the river walk and it seemed like a nice place...

EJ transmission necessary?
to answer this.... it'd be a big wiring nightmare!

its almost radiator time EJ rad in a EA
I'm gonna ask this... Why? The EA82T is much harder to cool then a EJ22... you stock rad should be just fine. I'm running my Rx's single row(stock form, but not stock one) and I have a SOHC EJ25. Runs cool.

EA81T oil cooler on XT-6
so.... ok then, I'm not getting ay cooling at all? I'm sure I'm getting flow though... the lines are getting pressure(using the pincher test) and the engine hasn't seized yet... guess it'll be fine for the next month or so till it's more properly routed. Now riddle me this, does it at all limit current flow to the turbo? I didn't think that a turbo could take the full 80 psi of engine oil pressure.

EA81T oil cooler on XT-6
I'm not sure I'll ever know, I'm just using it as a just in case and it also has a convenient "extra" port.

EA81T oil cooler on XT-6
So Shawn, or Mr Awesome as some know him by, got me a sweet EA81 Turbo oil cooler.. Today I made a rather annoying attempt to put it on my XT-6. It's not quite done, but all I need are hoses and a way to mount the cooler, probably those pushy zippy thingys. On with the show, Here's the "kit" stock First mod was to remove the old mounts and then I had to modify one of the oil lines. Then that fit ok So I made some room for the lines to pass through the duct on the PS of the radiator. And then I had to shorten the lines to the filter adapter and I got that mounted up pretty good... More pics tomorrow when I get it done.

How did I manage this?
While removing the intake on my 89 XT-6 to test fit some things I discovered this: The trans to firewall mount is not only bent to a 90 degree angle, but the mount itself has been snapped right off the tranny! I have no idea how or when this happened... unless it was that time I lost a bolt out of the tranny crossmember and the tranny fell a little bit... can't recall hitting the tranny on anything... :-/ I'll have to check my spares tomorrow and see if I have another.

Need Answer Asap
+1... The SPFI shorty and the MPFI are the same compression... but as said the MPFI requires the 4 port heads, and related wiring... might as well just drop the entire engine in while you're at it... I also might point out that there is VERY little power gain.SPFI -> MPFI

Colorado Red Rocks meet July 29th
No one cared when I brought my Rx last time... all kinda gave me the "Who parked their old accord here?" like looks. I'd be up for a BBq but bringing food would be tough... might have to get it on the way there, but IIRC there is a foods store pretty local. I'll be in the 6 BTW.
