  1. i know im bringing up a old topic but instead of buying the washer everytime, i just got one of those quick flow tips that is just a valve that you can open or close to let the oil out.... sooooo much less mess and hassle when changing the oil. just put a old one gal milk container (usually little more than one, or an old windshield wiper bottle ) and there you go!
  2. wow your really close to my parents area (fishersville)... that leggy is really clean!
  3. the shields were good up to the cat.after that all hell broke loose, literally. two of the upper shield bolts for the next exhaust peice for past the cat had rusted so badly they were no longer holding the shield in place. it was a pain to rock the shield up and down so that the other side came off. the bottom shield is still there since it wasent budging. long story short i put pipe clamps but no screws past the header until the cat. rattle seems to be gone..... for now any sugestions to remove those rusted bolts (already tried soaking them, etc)
  4. does anyone have pictures of what the heat shield looks like. i am having some crazy rattling, etc like desribed in all the heat shield threads but would like to know what it looks like exactly before trying to fix it
  5. hey, i lived in fishersville for a while and the only place that i really took my car was the subie dealer in harrisonburg. not because they are the best but because there are not many places that work on these cars in that area. i currently live in dc and i have a guy i would recommend up here but not worth the drive for you. what city are you in exactly? you can try cartalk.com and put in your zipcode and see what places pop up. they rate local mechanics in your area.
  6. Zymol personally worked well for me, and thats on a 94 thats trying to hold onto whats left of her original paint..... cant speak for new subies
  7. i drove the 2.5t and left before getting to drive the 3.0r. but as many have mentioned already, i myself would go with the 3.0 for the many reasons already stated. not to mention the insurance kickback for not having a turbo
