got a handle at ace to replace my canopy handle got it installed the inside piece is a little long but im waiting to cut it until i get a handle for the inside.

got her when was i was 13 its turned into a obsession been working on it since still need some parts like tail light for left side and tail gate.(when i first got her she didn't have the roll bar, carpet, seat covers, as good fenders, rear seats, and brush guard.) replaced the door with one from the junk yard with only a small dent above the key hole. had to replace the window though because it was off a hatchback. got some peugeot wheels this winter for $40 bucks gave it a 2 inch lift canopy i got for free last summer in the dalles $30 bumper from you pull it from 3rd gen wagon also have a couple winch bumps and brush guards. traded my canopy with vahidisatbrat to get this one but i had to colk the gasket back on and put new screen on but it was defently worth it because this is the high top even has roof rack and lights!

get a roll bar like the one i've got in my 85 but for 1st gen( but the one in mine was for a first gen but cut and welded to make it fit.)

yours looks great have u got it repainted? my paint is prity oxidized. yah i have a 85 and had a 86 my dad has 2 78's and 79. got this one for 350 in Bingen Washington for $350 for parts because someone rear ended it when it was parked going 60mph aproximently 2 months later it looked something like this. my dad cut out the wheel wells for me, but i did most of everything else taking it apart down to the unibody and even took off all the small plastic pieces that keep stuff together.

1985 brat got it when i was 13 for $900 with motor and trany under fourty thousand(guy we bought it from was retarded blew them both in under a week and a branch went through windshield)and have been working on it for over two years after my dad bought it as father son project on mothers day and my dad and i have had 5 other brats since i got mine. replaced the door from a two door hatchback but they had different glass so had switch glass after installing. replace both fenders and painted them. got brat canopy for free when my dad bought a 78 brat in the dalles for $100 $100 dollar brat my dad towed it home on a saturday night last summer and got it running the next day after 15 minutes and it sat for 14 years! need to sell now because we have to many cars and will sell after carb. gets back from rebuild. got some peugeot 14 inch rims for $40 this winter raised it about 3 inches

its legal because brats came factory with the seats in the back with the seat belts which falls under the law with dmv.(i dont have the seats bolted down or seat belts yet.)
