  1. I emailed them also and received no response. They probably already tried with them. I do know several on this board that were connected when I was so I thought I would mention it here.
  2. I understand the issue with securing a place that is willing to allow the ground torn up and dust issues as I put on the Hood River Rallycross for a few years. The other issue is travel time from a major city like Portland or Seattle. Has anyone talked to "Oregon Raceway" in Grass valley about a HOME there. It has so much area to use and the businesses around there though sparse are very supportive of events there. I can't see why they would not entertain the possibility . It is a drive , but an easy one and camping could be possible too.
  3. I was supposed to work my real job Saturday the 15th but got a call from ORG's Mike Nagle and ended up getting our Relay for Life group to park cars on a private piece of land on the Fir Mountain Road . We had 2 buses shuttling spectators 2 miles to the site. It took about 25 hours of my time staking-ribboning and signing the area but our group cleared $2,211.00 for the effort. I did not see a rally car all weekend but it was worth it. Parking was safe, secure and neighbors on Fir Mountain had little to complain about. We parked over 300 cars . I missed the BBQ in Dufur because I also had to clean up the property on Sunday.
  4. Thanks for the mention. I did not make the last 2 events because of a new job. I also want to sell the car . I put too much into it to get out without loosing a lot of $ but that is racing. For those who don't know the car, it is a 95 Imprezza RS with a JDM STI drive train and a new 2.5 block. It has a fully adjustable diff and MANY options . It is quick and reliable (no dnf's) and still streetable. Best offer. porschenein59@gorge.net
  5. It looks like there could be a reschedule but I would guess not. Most of the workers can't be there- The Hales- Tabors; etc Ben says the grounds are booked too. Maybe something in Eastern Oregon or elsewhere before the October event could happen. Heavy on "could". Finding a place is always an issue. :-\
  6. Now that I can play they are cancelling ? Damn! I spent 9 days with my sister after her Husband died and missed the big weekend (and the wedding I was going to film). Sometimes life sets priorities in perspective. Anyway, is it probable they will just drop the one event and go on?
  7. Hope you have fun. I certainly planned on being there the 28th and 29th as was scheduled for months. I am filming a wedding for inlaws saturday the 21st and there goes my plans. I will see you Sunday If allowed......
  8. I drove by thursday on business and there was a tractor working on the track- just on the prior run areas but anything should help. It was quite dry also.
  9. Ed, they posted the results. 155 line entries -Ed Rachner overall top time of the day! Yes an EVO had 1 run faster but you beat him for the 3 runs. Don't be so modest- You beat ALL including all the rally cars built for competition. You never took out a cone. You did it in a wagon with a full interior. The congratulations still stands. (and yes , us old farts rule!!)
  10. Ed, they posted the results. 155 line entries -Ed Rachner overall top time of the day! An evo had the best single run but your 3 runs waxed him for the overall. Don't be so modest- You beat ALL including all the rally cars built for competition. You never took out a cone. You did it in a wagon with a full interior. The congratulations still stands. (and yes , us old farts rule!!)
  11. Ed showed everyone how to Rallycross at Hillsboro Sunday in a mixture of Hail, downpours , sun with the first place in Prepared 4wd! 70+ ran the afternoon session that did not finish until 6:30 . Ed also posted the best time in the afternoon session even trouncing the Modified 4wd class. Charles Morrill co-driving with Ed was close behind with 4th place. The "old farts" led the way!! There was more than ten cars that simply got stuck on course and had to be pushed or pulled to get going the mud was so deep and slick. Ed however looked like a swamp buggy flying around the course with 3 runs total time under 4 minutes . Most were over 4 and many were over 5 minutes combined. Way to go Ed!!!
  12. Congratulations to Ed Rachner and Charles Morrill! Ed took home the gold in some pretty wild conditions with Charles in 4th .
  13. Looks great Ed! I bought a '95 RS and Rick who I sold my WRX to will sell me the tires I gave him with the car, my Hakki's that I grooved. I assume I will run in the Modified class like I did before (Open) as the motor is not really"stock". The best part is the tranny is stout so no worries on launch and 500 lbs less than the WRX. I can't wait to get dirty again.
  14. I couldn't keep away. I will look forward to seeing my old friends and tearing up some sod. Gotz a new toy and ready to see how she works. Probably do just " time only" since the season is over.
  15. From the Fairgrounds side of things, I would be happy to help in the future to put on another show. The group was great and no real problems to speak of. The only problems on the roads I saw was some young locals trying to impress the Suby crowd with their stupidity. It was nice to include some locals in the mud pit (even if it was a 8 foot hole filled with water). They actually wanted the Suby crowd to know they much enjoyed the pit and to thank Eric for allowing them to get stuck...All in all, a great time for all (credit to Ken for maintaining a smile through all the troubles. It takes class to do so. The best! John "Crawler man" Alley:clap:
  16. Is there any promo info like a flyer that I could get so we can put a full Page add in the Hood River County Fairbook yet? wE ARE GOING TO PRESS soon. John:)
  17. From Hood River... August 5th is now the only weekend left open in August. Just to let you know. John
  18. Hi from Hood River! A WRX definately caused a years work in getting a noise ordinance in place that the Fairgrounds can work with. That is behind us now. As far as the Horse arena, if an event happened after our County fair (july 29th-Aug 1st) I believe with my crawler and some help the "pit" could happen again. Don't count us out. We look like water will be in abundance next year with the snow-pack growing as it is. John
  19. Sorry to say I did attend... I was one of two there for awards. We were ushered into a small upstairs room away from the other awards (SCCA) and other drivers. My feeling was we are the "Bastard children "of the SCCA.They did however have awards this year-procured at the very last minute since Scott never ordered them. The good news was Hillsboro will happen again next year as the new building fell thru again. Also the good news is Scott is out and April is in as Rallycross Director. By the way, my car is sold and I am out also. Sianara! John
  20. Just a note as to the integrety of Paul Ecklund. I got a package in the mail with a note of congratulations for my win. Taking 2nd to Paul would have been just fine but I now will relish to award. My only question still was his second run. I think he got shafted somehow but is still being a great sportsman that I already knew him to be. Anyway Thanks Paul!
  21. Even Peter Solberg would not have raced as banged up as you were. You are young and will recover.
  22. Hi Ed, Could you let me know how they listed me? I ended up giving my 1st award to Paul Ecklund because he thought he won. I left and know am curious how my last ever rallycross turned out. Thanks, John Alley
  23. simbey 1982 - Eurowrx is the Blue/Yellow 2002 WRC kinda WRX. I am the old fart driving it.
  24. My guess on posting is much longer than what was stated Sunday. Scott stated a couple of days but I know that the web master is swamped with priority work problems right now and unless someone will step up to help (and that is doubtful) it could be a week or so. I hope I am wrong but there is a lot going on with ORG and SCCA right now....
