  1. I was just cleaning the interior of my new gen( OMG! a New Gen! ) 93 Impreza..it was a bonding moment..taking inventory on what she needs and assessing the rust and getting a game plan on how to fix it...couple questions.. 1. Are there any hidden spots to check out for rust? Her underside is sooooo rust free ( compaired to what I am used to) just a tiny bit on the corners of the rockers and the rear quarters right above the plastic bumper cover. 2. Her hood is toast..not worth trying to patch..up to what year hoods would fit? Maybe from a sport model?? 3. would the grill need changed to match the year hood? 4. Do these just have normally sloppy shifters or do the same plastic bushings go bad like on the EA82s and older? Sorry for the noob questions but I am going to hurry to get Pheebie on the road cause I think I have a new home for my beloved Loyale wagon who I hate to give up but he needs more than I can give him now.
  2. maybe to someone I know that would be able to fix what I can't..and who is going to treat him well...he is a great car..just needs more than I can give him now..its my own fault. He is the perfect commuter car..great mileage.. I know you would take care of him.....Let me think about this a bit.. You know you and or jess are HIGH on my list of people who I would consider letting adopt Buck
  3. I am not going to register Bucky anymore...he still needs too much..and now with the new Impreza...as for him being a wagon ..this is true..but we still have Tommys truck...I just dont want to see him sit and wilt away. And I wont sell him. I will just hold him for parts cause I really would LOVE to have a lifted EA82 wagon for some off roading.
  4. I am going to second the EJ thing I just got my first EJ and ..though I love the EA82 ( cause I know it so well) I can see that the EJ is a way better design..Both my EA82 and ER27 are both great..but still alot more to worry about...I wont even touch an EA82T ..I just dont have the time money or patience to deal with one...I have read too many posts. My little EJ18 can run circles around my EA82 ..couldnt even imagine the EJ22..but I have heard they compair pretty close to what I get from my ER27
  5. I have been trying to think about what I want to do with Buckster once Pheebie is ready to be put into daily driver service. I dont feel comfortable knowing he can never hold passangers in the back again cause of no seat belts. Then I thought about tucking him aside and waiting to have the money to get a rust free west coast EA82 4WD wagon and using Bucky for parts so he lives on.....and then there was this thought.........how would he do as an autocross car and what would I have to do to him??? I mean my XT6 is going to be a garage king ( cant call him a queen) and will never see snow again..turning him into a show car.
  6. her gas gauge barely moved on the 60 mile trip back..was told ..mid 30s...and for AWD thats great!good running little car thats for sure
  7. When you live in the rust belt...we all find ways to save the cars...too many die at a young age ..nothing wrong with them mechanically... just the rust eats them away. And most of the time our fixes are better then what was there to begin with.
  8. I got to put some suspention and a gas tank in her before doing a Pine Barrens run...But it could be fun!!
  9. Here are some more pics..still working on uploading everything: Our Best in Show Winner!! Darlingchips and backwoodsboys Gen 1 Legacy!: Andyjos Mellons!! Meeting on the Minds: The view from above...we had more Subes here then we did at Carlisle!
  10. I adore mt XT6 and dont ever regret getting it..The 6 is a bit different of a beast btu for $100 I would go for it...
  11. Spark.. I so want to..and I want to bring out Rocky...to show off what a poor girl can do... I have over 300 hours in my XT6 and I drive him with Pride...built not bought is his motto. Going to start saving up for WCSS10 after the Dragon
  12. Oh Rob..you should be suffering from the "good" wiped out..Talked to Andrew last night and he gave me the poop...didnt tell me about the ride in the hatch though. You can't believe the dragon is only 3 weeks away?? lmao
  13. Congrats All!! ... I was told that I will be in the running for the "Rice" award at the Alcyone meet with my yellow and black XT6...dont know if thats an honor or not
  14. Looks great!!! I have been toying with the idea of getting one somewhere..LeakingOil has a great one on her back.
  15. I wish my XT6s rails looked that good...But I am willing to have it fixed.. You have a few more years in there..I would just use some POR-15 or something to keep it from getting any or much worse anytime soon.
  16. Now that WCSS9 is over and my little ECSS cookout...The next item is the Dragon Meet.. Well..there are some people here who have been very good at keeping the secret...and now is time for the announcement. As many know..Tommy and me have been engaged for well over a year now..late last week we desided ..what the heck..lets get hitched at the Dragon ( BTW Tommys last name is Dragone..perfect huh?) I managed to plan the whole thing out in a half hour..keeping it super simple..nothing fancy.. I asked Turbone if he wanted to be the one to kick me in the pants ( give me away) I picked him for many reasons. Tommy still has to make his choice ...Melis ( LeakingOil) is going to be me best bish. Anyway...what could be better then to tie the knot surrounded by good ...more like GREAT ..people and Subarus!
  17. NO!! LOL.. I told you I was going to do it:lol: OH! I still have to upload and post our ECSS1 Best in Show award!:-p
  18. Geesh thanks Skip...now I am going to have to find me some rims like the ones you added to the pic. Might try and find the little wing too... going to replace the hood if I can find a straight red one at Harrys...and she needs some rear quarter rot fix..but she is solid...and fun to drive... I can't wait to get her done and start driving her. You could tell her previous owner loved her too...gave her a kiss goodbye and was happy someone took her who was going to take care of her. He told me she saved his rear a few times.( Sounds to me like she has a heart like Old Bucky does. ) I am very very happy with her thats for sure
  19. I didnt say I would ever sell him!! But there will be a time...and I feel it will in the near future..will something major is going to go....and being here in the land of rust. And when that time comes..I will be looking for a west coast rust free 4WD EA82 to bring over...and Buck will live on. Heck..Buck is back on Daily Driving Status while Rocky is helping friends out in PA
  20. I have to thanks Backwoodsboy for his effort and great job re-enforcing Bucks Shock mounts.. I added some aluminum today and will get some glass in another day or two.. But...Bucky looks like something from Robocop now:grin:
  21. Dave and Melis are home and Rocky treated them well... Dave...Ellie is with good company...see..she is snuggled up with family:)
  22. Are you sure everything went in the right direction?? cable attached?? Did you use a good resurfaced flywheel? ( just playing devils advocate...I never had any problems like that with a clutch before..cept on my dirt bike cause one of the springs slipped on install) It really sounds like something got put in backwards ..to me
  23. Mr Whirly...thats is beautiful!!!! I be you guys couldnt be any happier....finally getting your Brat...cant wait to see it in person!
  24. In time...want to fix the main stuff first..then worry about how she looks..she could use new belts ( are these as easy to do timing belts as EA82s??) and the rear shocks are a must..She definately brought a smile to my face.
  25. I absolutley adore my 92 Loyale...he has been a great great great car.. I have owned him for almost 5 years...they do have some hidden areas of rust ( which I just discovered) and if not taken care of as soon as you can...it can be the dealth of these cars...watch your inner rear wheel wells..right where the rear seat belt mounts and right above where the rear shocks bolt on...from the outside they will look fine...until you pull the interior back in the rear...and you find this: This is what I found last week...and am in the process of fixing...and this is on a car that fromthe outside looks very very good and has been taken care of pretty darn well since I have owned him. Keep up with her and you should be able to see another 100K easily...
