Noobie Questions(Not 56K Friendly)
Oh yes..rot..dont mind fixing the cosmetics..I have the same rot around the windshield..just not that bad....I slowed mine up this way: pulled alot of the paint off..ro see what is actually livin under it ( this can be scarey).. sanded down the areas I could without getting too close to the window...especially on the roof..treated it with some sort of rust neutralizer ( POR-15...or I cheaped out and used some Dura-Color stuff)..let it all set for a day or too..make sure everything is dry dry..glaze coated it with some bondo..sander smooth and repainting with Krylon Tough on Rust paint. Used Silicone sealer around the glass to make sure the window doesnt leak.Slowed it down for the past 3 years...getting ready to probably do it again. The rest of the rot on the body is easy..but grab it now..and please please...check those back wheel wells ( you have to check from the inside..remove the rear interior) around the seat belt mounts...I dont want anyone to ever have the suprise I did. The body rot repair is a great way to bond with your car..you just need some patience..but when you are finished you can be proud of what you did..My XT6 had some nasty nasty nasty body rot ...And in a very short time and alot of blood sweat tears last nights pop rivets bondo and paint...I now show my XT6.

Need Some Opinions
First off..Bucky is a boy and I am a chick!! And like 86Bratman said..Bucky DOES have a soul .If any car in this world has a soul its Bucky( you would have to meet him to understand)....This car could drive across country...I have been told by many..he is one of the quietest EA82s ..specially with 203K.. I may just park him for a bit and once Pheebie ( my Impreza ) is ready see what I can do with Old Buck.. The rust now ( thanks to backwoodsboy) is controlable...Just have to keep an eye on the windsheild.Between the Imp and Rocky ( my XT6) Bucky can get some attention that he needs. Maybe I can learn how to weld on him...we will see.

Noobie Questions(Not 56K Friendly)
1> I run the hyper whites or the blues in my 92 Loyale..looks good at night and really helps with the visuals ( in deer country) 2> many have added fogs or Hellas..looks really good 3> I prefer the lifted look..with bigger tires. talk about mean looking when ( see above )is added 4> EJ22 swap is about all you will be able to do to add hp 5> fix that ASAP..you dont want to loose a good car to the rust 6> I run about 300watts in mine..sounds great ( Sony Xplode!) 7> maybe some tinting...and if you can find an RX body kit...looks sweet on the wagons!

No subaru's back east?
I know right here in New Milford..there is my Bucky a red EA82 wagon ( Nice) a dark grey EA82 wagon ( beat to a pulp and rusted) an EA82 Sedan and a pretty beat up 3 door. Plus 1 XT6 ( thats mine) and themoneypits 2 XT6 in watertown. definately getting rare though..I must hear at least 3-4 times a week about people not having seen an XT6 in years.

Need Some Opinions
Just wanted to get some of you guys opinions on something....you know what it is...Bucky... You all know how I feel about this car..in fact to me he isnt a car at all...He has been the only one to always be there for me for the past 4 years...When I was alone..Bucky was there..even when he shouldnt have..he always took care of me...and due to my own fault of never having the money or having to give something else priority...he has fallen in dis-repair.. He needs the wheel wells finished..both axles are shot front bushings are gone..he still needs a new throw out bearing..his head gasket oozes ( external and oozes oil) he isnt running quite right . sputters until he gets up to 2500 rpm.. plus I feel the head gaskets arent going to hold much longer..but I could be wrong. I found someone who I would 100% trust to adopt him and would be able to fix what is wrong better then me..but that person doesnt want me to regret selling him.. I so want a 4WD lifted EA82 wagon..with offroad lights etc etc.. Do I send him off to another home who I know will take care of him...or do I keep him and make him into the offroad rig I really want. I have Rocky for the show car...and now Pheebie ..who only needs some minor work to turn her into an awesome daily driver.

$50 paint job
I am going to do that next time I paint Rocky..after having alot more underbody work done..Looks great! Nice shine..wish I could get that out of my rattle can job...its too thin to buff out and it cost me alot more then $50 LOL..still not bad for rattle can....no where near as nice as that Corvair though ( I used to have a 65 convert one)

No subaru's back east?
PLUS because of the rust and depending where you are..it can be too hard to get them through inspection...AND no one wants to carry parts for them..Thats at least how it is here in CT and around the NYC area..

just some tune up questions
As for twisting the calipers back in...there is a tool for it and its pretty cheap...but you still will have the pistons going back in alittle red...:-\

Doing Some Bonding With my Newbie
Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI only drove her home..havent really started working on her yet..probably going to wait till after the Dragon meet... I really like her..Not as scarey as my XT6 was when I got it thats for sure. Might start the suspension swap this weekend..someone is giving me a full set of KYBs Thursday. Need to get some FSMs of find them on pdf and I should be ok. I will still have my XT6 for old school and will be looking for a rust free lifted EA82 wagon 4WD 5 spd in the future.....for offroading. My EJ18 has 226K on the clock..can I expect another 100K out of it?

Doing Some Bonding With my Newbie
Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI dont shy from too much rust..unless it is structural..just look at what I did to my XT6..( rockers gone both fenders bad one rear quarter shot both sides in the trunk gone...and now I show it) I am going to work on a couple mechanicals before I start the rust work...going to swap out the suspension and it needs either a new gas tank or this one repaired. I was suprised at the lack of rust..since she is a NY car.. For what I paid for her ( nothing nada ziltch zip) I think she is worth dumping a couple hundred into. Neo...how you liking this New gen stuff anyway??

The WCSS 9 Experience Thread
All the pics I have seen really make me want to come out there even more...Not sure if I would want to bring out my XT6 ( cause its so different) or drive my new /old Impreza out...or fly out and bring home a lifted EA82 4 WD DR 5 spd wagon
