The white connectors get brittle with age...they get all gooie and can short and just reek havok on your electrical system...( very common with the XT6s BTW)...adding a couple inches of new wire and a new connector usually fixes the problem..Double check the usuals also..wires grounds battery... Just on of the options...what is your volts reading right now..back to 12V+ ??

I am a puralator mostly...OEM if I am lucky...I have had problems with Fram...not engine destoying problems but others. Plus sometimes I am not the greatest on the 3K mile rule...and I am not saying 3100 miles..itis 4K-5K...mainly with Bucky cause he leaks and lives on seafoam. I guess I am partial cause even back in the day with my Mustangs Fram was a bad word..but look at the oil conflicts..I run Castrol GTX in Rocky cause he doesnt leak...Bucky is whatever is cheapest cause he does leak..its all personal prefrence ( I just wont ever allow Valvoline in either on my cars) See below ....tyhats what I had happen ..not once but twice from Fram

Thats how I always install mine..flat to the pan..and I change them every 3 oil changes.

My EA82 has had a small misfire since the day I bought it 4 and a half years ago...I have one plug ( #3 cylinder) that burns hotter then the rest..I have just learned to live with it and change the plugs once or twice a year ( that $10 doesnt really hurt the wallet that much ) and I have put roughly 45,000 miles on it that way...I will look into it when the head gasket goes which should be any time now . Sorry to hear you have such problems with your car..I wouldnt junk it though..if you have to get rid of it ..sell it..someone else wouldnt mind doing the 5 spd swap. I do know how you feel...my XT6 drives me nuts ...and it only has about 28K miles on the motor..between electrical gremlins and vacuum leaks and rust...and my poor poor wagon still needs so much more to make it a decent daily driver again..but I havent given up on either...I understand your frustration though. Have you tried new plugs wires AND cap and rotor yet? And it doesnt throw any codes does it? I can't help with the AT cause..to be honest ..I cant stand ATs ..for the reasons ..like what you have. That motor has far to few miles on it for the misfires to be anything much more then something small ..like vacuum. Sorry for the ramblings ..

Paul..check out Connecticut Subaru Crew ( connecticut-subaru.com I think) TONS of meets all over the state..cruise nights and even some looking for off-roading adva=entures..yes its alot of the WRX kids but they really arent that bad. You obviously havent heard the one in my Loyale then ..How do I know its my throw out bearing making the noise?? when we put a new clutch in 2 years ago they gave me the wrong bearing..I had no choice but to put the old one back in...and the old one had just shy 200 K on it. Makes all sorts of noise;)

Heck ..my little E Machine is 3 years old and still runs tip top ( it helps when your other half is a puter genious though) . Welcome back to the world of the ....living??

My little FWD Loyale gets good enough gas mileage for me...gets as good if not better then most of the hybrids...and at the same time has super low emmissions.. Basically ..you want good gas mileage out of your older subaru...go with a 5 spd FWD and keep it tuned...we carry a good bit less weight..have a slightly different gear ratio ( I believe I read somewhere) and are still perfectly good in the snow with snow treads on....This is my main reason for keeping and loving my Loyale.. put $20 in this and my XT6 when they were both around empty.( $3.27 a gallon at the time) got 165 miles out of the XT6 and got 218 out of the Loyale..and I drive alot of stop and go so thats not all too bad..might put and electric fan in the Loyale someday but for now I am fine with what it has
