  1. They are in no danger of going anywhere. They have been sitting in the same spot for years. No where near the southern California mudslides. Trust me I want to go get them. Just having them sitting out in a field does not do me or my fellow subie enthusiests any good. I will try to go and get them in the next few weeks. Again, the weather and my space are holding me back. But even with the room problem I will still bring at least one at a time home. My parents already told me I could put at least 2 of them out at their house. Soon guys, soon!
  2. No, I still have not went and got them. It is still raining here. I also have to get my Gl10 wagon project done before I drag home more cars. I already have six cars here at home. I know some of you need these parts. I will go get them. They are not going anywhere. I just really have to clear up some space. Sorry I have not gotten back on these yet.
  3. I just went through the engine in my 89 GL10 turbo wagon. I replaced both heads with a better set of gen 2's I had. The gen 3's on it were bad! I put new gaskets, oil pump, water pump, seals, etc. I finally get it all back together and fire it up. Now the bad part. When I started it the engine was extremely noisy. Like it had no oil in it. The oil light was on but I figured new oil pump it will take a minute or two and it will quiet down. Nope, that did not happen. The engine let out a death squeal and that was it. I pulled off the oil filter and it was dry. Nothing in the oil pump at all. I have changed a oil pump on my Xt and I had no problems at all. So what could have happened? Except for the oil problem it started up good and wanted to run but, no oil. Just curious. I am done wasting time on this car. I have four other vehicles to worry about. Like spend some time working on my brat. But again, What do you guys think might have happened? Could I have overlooked something when I put the heads on? Would like to see what the board thinks. Thanks.
  4. I sure hope they are ok too. I don't want to have to pay any more to fix the heads. If so I hope my other heads are ok. But I guess I will not know till I get them off.
  5. My 89 Gl10 has a blown head gasket, right side. I am worried that when I pull the head this weekend I am going to find the usual crack that you all seem to talk about. Is it fixable or still usable? Also, I have a good ea82t engine from a 87 gl10 wagon. Will the heads from it work on the 89?
  6. I can't remember what size the bolt is on the crankshaft pully on my 89 GL10 wagon. Is it 21mm or 22mm. I need to go buy the right size socket so I can start taking my motor apart. Thanks.
  7. I just want to make sure this strut change will work. The 4wd front and rear struts from a 85 gl wagon will fit into my 89 GL10 wagon with no problems right? The air suspension is shot and I am looking at getting a donor 85 GL wagon with the standard 4wd struts to put in my 89. Just need to make sure.
  8. Are they still available? If so where could I find one? 1stsubaru parts? If not where can I find a decent replacement?
  9. Sorry I have not gotten back on these. I still have not went and got them. It has been raining so much here that where they are at I am afraid of getting my truck stuck in the mud pulling them out. So I am in a holding pattern until it stops raining and dries out some. I talked to the guy who has them and he told me not to even bother to try and get them because it is just to muddy to pick them up. Not only do I have to pick up 3 Brats I have to pick up a 85 gl wagon at another location too. Same story it is in a place where it is too muddy so again, I have to wait. So I am still getting them. Just have to wait for the rain to let up. So hang in there guys.
  10. I was out driving around when I spotted a brown 85 subie 4x4 wagon in a field. I stopped by and asked the owner of the house if he wanted to get rid of it. He said it was not his. The former owner left it and 3 other cars when he moved out. The car has been sitting there for at least 3 years. He said I could have it for nothing. I want it but I need to find out how I can get paperwork on it. I live in California. I am going to have the vin number and license plate ran on the DMV computer at my local police department. My aunt works there and she runs my plates for me when I need it done. Maybe I can find the owner of the car. That might help. But if not I will need some help from you guys on what I need to make this car mine.
  11. Jon I will let you know about the parts next week. I think one of the frames is pretty treaked but I am not positive. It was a lot to soak in looking at 3 Brats. I was pretty excited finding 3 in the same place. Obviously I should have taken more pictures but I will have more pictures next week.
  12. Oh yeah, I don't think I need the plates. The one on the blue brat was in great shape. The tailgate had been down for years keeping it protected from the elements. I will let you know.
  13. The angle was bad on the photo of the frame. On the top it says Santa Maria. It came from Santa Maria Subaru. But if you want it let me know. I think there was 4 of them.
  14. Yeah actually 2 of them still had the seats and seatbelts. I myself only need the bracket that the seats mount too.Not sure of their condition but I will pull them and make sure they work. I will take some pictures for you and let you know of a price if they still work.
  15. Yeah it was fairly quick and easy. I yanked out the ea82T out of my 87 GL-10 Turbo wagon in about a hour. Maybe a little more. That was with me and another person helping. But it was real smooth. Yeah just leave the turbo attached and undo the down pipe. Piece of cake.
  16. Sorry I have not gotten back on the Brats. I had to work this weekend so I had to put off picking up the 3 Brats till next weekend. But I am still getting them.
  17. No problem Todd. I will list everything or take a picture of everything good starting probably next weekend. I might call the guy this week and see if I can go pick the first one up earlier than this next weekend. I might be looking for trades for parts that I need for what I will be getting. Again, I will let you know.
  18. The interior on the dark brown one was not bad. Windows were still rolled up on it. The roll bar I'm keeping for my Gen 1. The trashed blue one and the other one both had the brush guards on them. I am keeping one of them though. I will get some better pictures when I go out again next week and start to bring them home.
  19. Ok I went and checked out the Brats today. To my surprise the guy had 3 Brats all gen 1. He said I could have all 3 for $50.00. Now I just need to go get them. If you want to see them go to the photo gallery and look me up. They are rough. One is real bad no top on it! Was rolled and the top was cut of 27 years ago. But, the drivetrain only has 11,000 miles on it. The only reason he stopped driving it was that it started to break in half without the roof to support it. I will probably go pick the first one up next weekend.
  20. I will be parting them. It is just a question of how fast I can strip them down. After I get what I need the rest will be up for grabs. I will try to get back with the information on them tomorrow and let you know what is available.
