  1. Absoluely true and seconded by another Floridian just across the Bay. My guess is that an awful lot of us that don't post heavily do login and catch up to a lot of know how that otherwise we'd have to learn the hard way. I can't begin to tell you guys how much I appreciate the benefit of your collective experience when it comes to working on and keeping alive my BRATS. Thanks.
  2. If you need a strong back and a weak mind I'm your man. Let me know when and if you need help and we still have access to that engine stand when you're ready.
  3. I've had the pleasure of seeing this beauty in person. It belongs in a museum!! Bill and family do real nice work.
  4. brat86 and I are both in Bradenton just across the bay. Bill and I have 3 of the four registered brats in Manatee County. If we can help you out let us know.
  5. I've got an 82 Brat DL and after repairing a rear flat I reversed the wheel for grins and giggles and really liked the way that it looked. Anybody ever tried this with spacers on the lug studs to provide a flat mating surface? I just wonder if I'm the only one goofy enough to try this, or if I'm kickin' a dead horse. Love to hear if it's been done before.
  6. Try good old Sears. $170 for 4 185/80/13 all weather WEATHERHANDLERS on the 82 stock Brat and out the door. Certainly not a performance tire but adequate for my needs.
  7. Picking up wife Jennifer and new son Adam John from the hospital this afternoon. Son number 2, to go with 3 year old Logan Steven. I'll hit the big 5-0 in less than 6 months and now have 2 soobies and two sons. 4 Brats? Nah, they are fine sons. I know this is off topic, but I'm proud of my wife and my sons and I Know that there are a lot of you that would feel as I do. It is a good day.
  8. Is the weber available with an adapter plate for the 1bbl stock carter-weber or is a hitachi intake necessary for the conversion? Also, I've heard conflicting reports on the increase in performance and mileage to expect after the conversion. I wonder if the differences have to do with the quality and expertise of the conversion and if the redline users had significantly better experiences. Not all of us are wonderful at all aspects of suby repair, and I suspect that someone like myself with minimal space and expertise might be better off with a complete bolt up kit.
  9. I'm now the proud owner of the Legabrat. Bought it from Micheal about a month ago. It's a sweet ride.
  10. Florida old school guy with two BRATS. What is the happening in Tampa in October?
