  1. If you have an extra 2" kit give me a price shipped to FL
  2. Are all ea 82 seats interchangeable? How about early legacies, foresters, etc?
  3. I have a carter weber 1bbl on my 82 brat. It's in need of a rebuild and I havent had any luck in locating a kit. That would be my first choice of action. I also have a good to go ea82 manifold with a hitachi. That would be my second choice. I know that the weber 32/36 is the overwhelming feel good choice on this board, but not in the cards right now. Any thing to pay attention to regarding plumbing if I decide to make the switch? ea 81 0r 82 manifold gaskets, source, extraneous stuff I can rid myself of? Emissions are not a problem. Thanks
  4. Anyone have a good front shot of an ea-82 showing a good view of pulley and adjuster placement? I got a little brain dead after taking mine apart last week and good use a little visual guidance. Thanks
  5. After watching my pug alloy and tire pass me on the road and dodging two lanes of traffic I invested in adapters from a vw parts house. They cost about $20 shipped to the east coast and no problems. Google vw acorn lug adapter and I'm sure that will solve your problem. David Upon further review http://www.vwparts.net/MB9508.html
  6. As a result of a similar experience, I am in need of 4 pug alloy lugs.
  7. Ried the same fix on my manual 99 forester and it worked like a champ. Thanks USMB!!!

    Lifts

Anyone with experience with SJR or HTI lifts. Does the 2" SJR ea 82 suspension lift eat axles? I've also not seen feedback on any HTI products, although the roofrack looks impressive in photos. Anyone purchased an ea 81 or 82 lift from HTI? Opinions welcomed. Thanks.
  9. I currently have an 82 brat dl with an am radio. Would ;ove to put in a newer soob radio with weather band, cd player but am at a loss as to where to begin . I'm old school, as in 8 track and even pre fm radio, so I don't need to worry about ipod or sat radio. I am a bit confused with din connections and the sort. My last radio install was in A BRAND NEW 75 Ford Pinto. All I had to worry about was new speakers, power, antenna plug, and a good ground. Any words of wisdom from the newer school? I am just interested in listening to my sounds, not inflicting them on passersby or registering on the Richter scale. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm picking it up tomorrow.
  11. I have a chance to buy an 88 gl wagon FI/DR for the right price. Owner says that he broke the drivers side t belt and replaced both belts and tensioners. Car had been reliable DD until then. Now it sputters and spits back through the throttle body. His mechanic advised him that car would need a valve job as he likely bent a valve. It is my understanding that all ea82 engines are non interference and this would not likely be the case. My guess would be that it is a t-belt that is off by a tooth or so, and that the fix although tedious would be relatively simple. Comments and feedback greatly appreciated.
  12. Does anyone have anything good to say about these engines? It seems as if the overwhelming majority would rather have a root canal than an ea-82 turbo. Anyone having a good time with their's?
  13. According to BYB instructions, I must remove my engine stabilizer to install the front end lift on my 1982 BRAT. Sometimes I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I can't seem to find it. Location? Pix? Thanks
  14. I'll finally get around to installing the lift kit that I bought months ago from barracuda in spovegas. It's going on an 82 brat and I recall printing out some step by step instructions before my recent move but seem to have misplaced them. I'm not the world's best wrencher and I'd love to know where they came from. Anybody got a link? Thanks.
  15. Just like the title says. Just wanted to Know if anyone has tried it and what results that you have had. This is my first foray into a newer Subie after 5 of the older models, 4 Brats and a Loyale Wagon. Thanks.
  16. Of course it should go in the marketplace. I'm very surprised that my mouse inserted it in the wrong forum.
  17. I'm in Florida West Coast. Also have an interest in a 5spd D/R ea-82 for my Loyale as well. Any thing around or shippable is okay.
  18. My radiator on my Brat gave up it's last btu and needs to be replaced. I've found a 22" for a manual tranny and a 24" designed for the auto version. As I live in the great state of Florida, I would prefer the extra cooling capacity for a mere $20 difference. Anybody given this a try and know if they are interchangeable? Anyone have any experience with particular vendors either retail or internet? Thanks in advance for the feedback.
  19. Asking price and overall condition. AC? Rust? Looking hard for one.
  20. The growth of my family has led me to the conclusion that a change in vehicles is an imperative in the near future. Two kids, two labrador retreivers and stuff don't work in a Brat very well. I also tow a small boat. We've got a Montero for our real car but I can't leave mama with two Brats while I use the Montero and go play. I'm looking for an EA82 Wagon and am fairly unfamiliar with them. My suby experience is solely with the 4 Brats that I've owned at this point. Ideally, I'd like to have D/R 5 speed. I'm not interested in a turbo for reliability reasons and A/c is a must in the Florida heat. Any one have opinions on years/models to look for? I'm a 99% on roader but like the 4wd for boat ramps and some sandy stuff that I encounter while cartopping my kayaks or canoe. Are all GL-10 vehicles turbo'd? Is a digital dash to be avoided? Are there any A/T models that are reliable and efficient, or should they be avoided like the plague? I know that you guys have a ton of experience and I'd love to hear some opinions. Thanks in advance.
