Overheating 99 Legacy SUS...headgasket???
beezer replied to stanigu's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJust throwing this out there, I don't know much about head gasket problems. I was thinking this could be a water pump going. The car would blow cold air if the pump was not working. Just my two cents worth.

not sure what the codes mean
beezer replied to beezer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks. I left the car sit over night, when I started it this morning there was no check engine light on, and the car seemed to be running fine. I thought it was a coincidence that the car didn't act up until the wife tried to move the car for me. She hopped the car down the road a little ways stalled it a little, maybe I will just have to revoke her subaru driving privileges. Oh well I'm sure the problem will come back again.

not sure what the codes mean
I have a 1992 2.2l legacy wagan. The car has been running excellent until today. Well actually yesterday the car died once while coming to a stop. This morning when I started the car the revs didn't go up like it normally does. I turned the car off then turned it back on and it seemed fine. Tonight the car started to hesitate mostly between 1000 rpm to 3000 rpm. The car idles now around 1500 but will occasionally drop down or rise up. The check engine light is on and I found some codes but I'm not sure what they mean. The codes are 12 15 35 24. Not sure which one of these are old. I think it might be the alternator but not sure. Hope someone can help. Thanks

squeel or squeek when turning
beezer replied to mattocs's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf it is squeeling it could simply be low tire pressure on front tire.

Remanufactured cv axles, good or bad?
beezer replied to beezer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks guys! I will probably go with the remanufactured axle from a reputable dealer that comes with a decent warranty . Beezer

changing the seals help this noise? Another question
I am planning on getting the timing belt changed and all the seals in the upcoming week.(Not going to tackle this yet by myself) There is a faint ticking noise coming from what I think is the valves. The noise only seems to be from the 2 cylinders closest to the front of the car. Just wondering if changing the seals might help this problem? (Sorry I don't know all the correct terminology yet, but, i'm working on it) Sorry I have a AWD 92 legacy with a 2.2L, I just bought it recently so I'm a little paranoid about every little noise I hear! I have been reading a lot on this site, there is a tremendous amount of information to try and go through. I was wondering if the sound could be coming from the pulleys. I find the car makes a sound in 1st and 2nd gear it very similiar to the sound a car makes when you reverse quickly. I have also noticed a very small hesitation when driving in 3rd gear at about 3000 rpm. the speedometer and the tachometer don't seem to waver. Hope someone might have an explanation for these problems. Thanks and I love this site!

Remanufactured cv axles, good or bad?
Just wondering what might be the best avenue to take. Should I look at remanufactured axles or buy new ones. My Legacy has higher mileage if this makes a difference.

Hi first time posting, just like to say "hi" to everyone. I recently bought a 92 Legacy and I need some advice on replacing the front rotors and the front driverside axle. Never worked on a Subaru so no detail is to small. Thanks hopefully someone can help me. PS already love my Subaru!
