  1. It should be. I grabbed everything from the y-pipe back off of my 87 NA wagon and it bolted right up to my 89 turbo wagon.
  2. sounds like it to me. I'm sorry for your loss, but don't go pointing your finger at everyone you can find. He had no responsibility to be watching your lane for you, and then making room for you to make a last minute mineuvor (sp?) because you weren't paying close enough attention. maybe the Honda was going to slow, and if so, they were at fault. but trying to drag the camaro into it to is a bit of a stretch. Glad to see I am not the only one 'misunderstanding' the situation. dam kamaro dryvers R eevul!!!!!1! Sorry, but you are not seeing the forest through the trees here. The fact that he left the scene of the accident in no way makes him at fault for the collision. BDG pulled into his lane and hit him. Yes, he should have stopped after the accident, but A.) There most likely would not have been an accident if it werent for BDG's driving, and B.) If he HAD stuck around, it would probably mean that BDG's insurance would be paying for the damage done to the Camaro as well. Perhaps him taking off wasn't a bad thing.
  3. I have! More than once. From what I can gather,(And I could be wrong. Like I said, I am having a hard time understanding him) he was going around a corner in the right hand lane and found himself coming up fast on a slow moving honda that 'appeared out of nowhere', so he tried to avoid it by swerving into another lane that was already occupied by a passing brown Camaro, ending up between the Camaro and Honda, trading paint with both of them, before heading into the right guardrail. How far off am I? I am curious to know who, if anyone, was ticketed in this accident, and for what.
  4. I guess I will play the A*hole and say, unless I am missing something (which is entirely possible, as I am having a hard time understanding your posts) it sounds like you caused the accident and are looking to blame everyone but yourself.
  5. Bruce Crower's 6 stroke engine An interesting read if you haven't run across it before.
  6. I took off from Newark, NJ in my newly purchased (sight unseen :-\) 1989 GL-10 Turbo Touring Wagon, and put 4815 miles on it before arriving back in Anchorage, AK, 5 days later. My first 'day' (day = time between sleeping, not necessarily 24 hours.) was an approx. 1,600 mile leg that took me through Ohio (80°+) around mid-day, through a road construction zone near Chicago around evening rush hour, and stopping for the night somewhere in Minnesota (30°) the next morning, and she seemed to do pretty well. Granted, I 'overheated' on the Ohio Turnpike, according to my digi-dash, but I am not sure how much I trust that thing.
  7. Both EA82T's: 115,000 - 1988 GL Wagon 105,000 - 1989 GL-10 Wagon
  8. May or may not help, but here is another thread on the subject. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22554
  9. Would having the opening face the rear of the car, as opposed to the front, prevent water from entering the snorkel? Would removing the 'ram air' effect by reversing the opening negatively impact performance?
  10. 3 Wagons, in various states of disrepair, but all 'run and drive'.
  11. Your exhaust has more holes than the Titanic? Wait, that's me. Replaced the muffler and catalytic convertor, and now for the exhaust manifold gaskets..... Rust sucks.
  12. on a long uphill, about half a mile from the gas station. Hoofed it the rest of the way, put a couple of gallons back in her, and took a minute or two to get her restarted. She runs ok, not great, until the turbo kicks in, then she starts jolting. What do I need to fix? Need more info, just ask.
  13. Good eye. It's the Barnes and Noble in Anchorage. Happened yesterday.
  14. lol, only watched it once, many many years ago, but yes, that is where the name came from. Nice catch.
  15. At least you didn't do this. :-p (No, that was NOT me.)
  16. Sorry to follow my own post, yet again. I have an non-running '87 GL N/A Wagon, that I could rip the muffler off. Would that work on an '89 GL-10 Turbo Wagon? Would save me another couple bucks.
  17. Fixed. Replaced the ECT sensor for the ECU, and it works fine. No more CEL, and she runs fine while warm. Thanks everyone for your help. Now I need to find a new (used) muffler, get her IMed, and she should be legal.
  18. THANK YOU, Mark! That is what I wanted to hear.
  19. Anyone know exactly where it is? A picture would be worth 1,000(,000,000,000) words. I can't find this thing to save my life.
  20. That sensor (as far as I can see) is the only one under the thermostat. There are a couple of hoses, but that is it. Am I looking in the wrong place? Just to make sure, I am looking for something like this?
  21. Fark me. Where is the other one? Any clue on a part number?
  22. Ok. Took me an hour to get the damn thing in the garage this morning. Had to push it in with the '88. Replaced the cap, rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and air filter. No joy. Symptoms remain the same. Goes about 3 miles, then the CEL light goes OFF and it gets funny on me. Idles really rough, drops to 500 rpm, jumps to 1000, up down, etc. Hit the gas, and it continues for 1-2 seconds, then it finally starts revving up. It is fine as long as I keep on the gas. Sitting out in the driveway, with the car in neutral, it would hit about 5000 rpm, then sound like it was choking and start bouncing around in the 4-5000 rpm range for a few seconds. Held on the gas a little longer, and sure enough, ON went the CEL and she ran up to into the red. Seems a little bass ackwards to me. Anyone have any more ideas? Other issues: Leaks oil, but nothing abnormal. Also leaks coolant, but I have not been able to figure out where it is coming from. Muffler is rusted and puffs smoke in both directions. Nice. Also took it into a curb at a 45 degree angle earlier. Now I have a bit of wobble in the front left tire. Ubernice. Ummm.... It was right below the thermostat. Looked like this:
