  1. Just an fyi it did all fit in the 97 obs but I I'll have to say it was a pain getting the engine and transmission out at least until I was to secure a crane lol. The best part is I still got over 25mph for a 130 mile trip fully loaded!
  2. Hey everyone I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to fit a ej22 with accessories crossmember and steering rack with a 4eat attached to it as well as the whole rear end of an impreza wagon with struts brakes and rear diff into either a 97 impreza obs or a 98 legacy wagon
  3. I just want to say as someone who drives for a living I have yet to encounter a GPS that wasn't off time to time or all the time by that many feet or more. You can't really judge a car by its GPS in any other way has it been unreliable??
  4. When I needed a key for my 97 obs the dealer said they can't cut keys for cars older then 2000. They refered me to a lock smith.
  5. Yes it did I could push it in and I would hear the click but it wouldn't move. It happend to my dad's 98 legacy as well.
  6. The shift lock could be stuck I had it happen on my 95 legacy you have to disassemble the shifter to get to it I had to manually hit it in order to shift out of park cleaning it ended up fixing it for me.
  7. The seat belts should be covered under subaru's lifetime warranty. My rear seat belt was broken on my 97 obs and they covered it under warranty.
  8. I have reset it and it comes back almost immediately if I drive highway speed. It shifts good for the most part the only thing is it wont shift into fourth until about 5k rpms. Thanks grossgary for the part number and wtdash for the link.
  9. Hey everyone I have a 1997 subaru impreza outback sport with 231,000 miles and recently the code p0740 came up and unfortunately my emissions is due in a couple weeks. I have done some research into it and from what I have read it is usually a failed solenoid b and I would have to drop the pan the pan to replace. I also got the transmission code for solenoid b so I am figuring that's the problem does anyone know the part number for solenoid b I called around and the dealers near me don't have any in stock and if they did they want to sell me the all solenoids in the pan. If anyone had any others thoughts they would be welcome.
  10. I am looking for front coil spring insulators for my 1997 Subaru Impreza 2.2L I cannot find front lower spring insulators and am not sure if it uses them or not. The struts were replaced by a retired mechanic who did not mention that they needed coil spring insulators. They have been making a lot of noise and I took them to a shop where they told me I need to have the spring insulators installed. I am looking to buy some for a decent price and have the original mechanic finish the job properly.
  11. Hey everyone, if anyone would like I have do a vincheck.I only have a few left so first come first serve. HAS
  12. As far as I know this the first time it had ever been overheated. I'll double check on the radiator being filled and the fans but I'm pretty sure they were running last I checked. I was shocked when they told how much it cost to get the radiator replaced though they did have the thermostat replaced as well with OEM according to the shop. I know the subaru dealership did the head gaskets around 19000 miles ago. Something to not they said it only would start to overheat in traffic. I am almost positive it's the heads but I'll take another look. Thanks HAS
  13. That is what I was thinking. I have checked the head gaskets and tgey seem to be leaking externality. They had the radiator replaced and hasn't overheated since but it's still bubbling with the white smoke. They are upset because the mechanic charged 600 and they still have problems
  14. Hey everyone my in-laws have a 2004 subaru impreza with 143000 miles on it. Recently while in traffic the car started to overheat and dumped some coolant they were able to pull off before it red lined. When they took it to there mechanic they diagnosed it as a clogged radiator. I took a look at it and I noticed the coolant in the overflow was bubbling and white smoke was coming out of the exhaust. They had the head gaskets replaced in 2013. I am curious to know what you all think. Thanks HAS
  15. It was bosch and yes both front and rear screw into the front cat. The cat was a walker direct fit it all looked identical
  16. Hey everyone Im getting a P0133 O2 Sensor Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1) on a 98 subaru legacy with 233,000 miles on it. Generally i would think the o2 sensor but it is brand new as well the whole catalytic converter. Besides a short in the wiring is there anything else it could be? Thanks
  17. Hello everyone i was wondering if anyone knew if the rear assembly from 96 legacy would fit my 97 impreza obs. The crossmember is rotted out on the corner of the drivers side where it bolts into the car otherwise this car has barely any rust. thanks, HASX11
  18. Thanks I will do that but I don't think that will help with the heat going in and out. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot the heat
  19. As far as I know they are original to the car at least I don't have any records of them being changed. The last tune up was 10 years and 90k ago but I did the plugs a couple months ago because it was stalling really bad it went away after I did them but now it does it while idling in gear
  20. The radiator is full but the overflow tank is empty and the temp gauge always stays just below the halfway mark. The timing belt, pulleys and water pump were changed about 18k ago. There are no visible leaks from the hoses or anywhere else that I can see. I forgot to mention the lower the fan setting the hotter the air it blows.
  21. Hello everyone I have a 1992 subaru legacy 2.2 fwd. I have noticed lately that the heat goes in and out. It generally works really well when driving 40 mph+ but blows cold when going slow or idling. Though sometimes it runs fine all day. My blower fan is going but I'm not sure if there related. Also when I'm in gear and I don't hit the gas it tries starts to stall and bounces back up and then tries stalling again but no issues while driving. If anyone could help that would be great. Thanks HAS
