cool. I'm hooked into the pink connector by the coil. didn't really want to power the fuel pump with the same circuit.
The Brat is gonna have 2 fuse blocks near the firewall. both fed right from the battery, but one will be IGN switched.
The drawing program I used is pretty slick. (I didn't have my Visio set-up handy, so I found another one.)

I did find a place on-line that sells those switches, but wanted to try and figure out with the 2 relay system...
Here's my current set-up:
and here's the "safety" set-up, using one NO relay, and one NC relay:
-
cool. I got one of those a while back off eBay!!!!
-
okay, I still need to add the safety feature back in. been looking for pressure switches, and got to wondering... would the pressure switch for the DL idot light work?
-
I use a 3/16 pin punch. it's a blue one sold at my local Ace Hardware store.
there is a specific Craftsman one that works as well...

I'd be willing to part with my hard tonneau "Brat Lid". $200.00 you pick up.

I talked to another club member today, and he said it should be fun for the soobies there. all different kinds of terrain, etc... lots of places to play.....

basically all the wiring is supposed to be there. from the donor car you will need:
coil unit under dash
compressor
compressor/Alt mount bracket with tightening pulleys
condensor unit
evaporator
AC relay (may be there already)
all hoses and wires that connect all this stuff together
vacuum module that advances the idle when you turn the AC on (mounted on intake manifold)
at least this is the list from my 82 Brat that I just pulled everything out of....

for the one that went up the sides, it did go from the top of the cab to the tailgate, but it just curved along with the sides. there was clear plastic section in it so you could still see out the back window.
here is the flat one:

the hard tonneau cover was only available on the Gen1 (and yes I have one of those)
the soft ones were available for both. I ALMOST had a Gen2 soft cover from eBay (SubaruBratBoy sold it) but got outbid at $225.00
I've seen both types. ones that went all the way up the sides, and ones that stayed flat.
I had an 86 brat that had the snaps up the sides (on the chrome trim strips), and it had a long bar across the top, so that the front was totally attached to not catch any air.
someone offered to make some a while back, but didn't get enough response.
I'm sure you could go to a custom upholstery shop, and have one made.

what kind of wheels you gonna run. they would work good on Chevy wheels because of the offset. not sure if pugs would move 'em iout far enough... maybe. I'm running pug steel 14's on my 82 wagon, with 225/70R14's so really the 235s are only 5mm per side wider....
-
on my 84 Turbo Brat, there are 2 oil coolers installed. haven't had a chance yet to see how they are plumbed, but this vehicle has stayed the coolest of any of mine this scorching summer....
-
Morgan,
the tires in the second pic are Cooper Discoverer STT's
these swampers in the 225/85R14 should fit with minimal trimming on an EA82...

cool. I wish the place here had special days like that... always the same. $25 for one of those compressors. I'll have mine at Castana if you want to see how I did mine....
-
another thing. this place isn't a "normal" ORV park, in that there is no Day use or day riding. you have to be a "member". But it is open to the public for this event.
it's probably about a 2 hour drive for me...
which would make it about 10 for Kurt...might be faster for you Kurt if you could get a quick way over to I-29...
-
there will be a registration place at the event as well. I believe there will also be shirt available for seperate purchase.
I need to go out and get my hookless tow strap yet, and some of the other inspection items...
I want to make sure I don't get turned away
-
will be mostly BIG jeeps, and other custom creations. I'm the only subaru guy in my club... lots of jeeps, early broncos, Chevy's.....
-
the top post has a link to the Event Information, Inspection rules, etc... and that page has a link for the Registration Info and costs.
The registration fee is I think $75.00
This is the place where it's held...

Morgan,
this will be my first time there...
have you already registered?
I'm still trying to get my rig ready as well. it goes in for custom bumpers and skid plate this week....
I really have no idea of what to expect from this weekend....
should be fun though.....
I'm gonna be "tenting" it with my 5 year old son....
Be sure you have all the safety check things, as apparently they do check everything pretty good....
-
the only Brat to have the center light was the 82, but it can be added to any Gen2 Brat easily.
-
was riding along with in-laws in Ft. Dodge, and a silver Brat pulled along side and passed us... small dents all over, and rockers were basically gone. was an 84 or 85....
didn't chase it down. was a girl driving it, and had tweety bird seat covers....
-
the early legacy (90-93) Alts are I think 75 Amps, and they are in the same housing as the XT6 alt. you will still need to have a v-belt pulley put on it, but it will fit the same as the xt6 alt.

The article was covering a mud fest in Bonners Ferry, ID
pic was of a ea81 GL gold wagon with duallies front and rear, going through a mud pit. it had "Goldmember" spray painted across the rear hatch....
said it didn't make it across on the run they took the pic from, but made it through on other runs...
How much should I offer on this Brat?
in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...

if it has the "fitted for AC" sticker on the dash, there's a better chance that it doesn't have AC installed. out of maybe 15 I've had with that sticker, only 1 has had aftermarket AC installed....
