  1. I have a stupid question is how can an axle vibrate while not moving? Also does the car have that same noise while turning sharp to right of left? Not to get under anyone's skin just curious.
  2. I had this done at a local reputable shop for $600 labor, which included resurfing heads. Parts were close to same as labor. For that kind of money above I would consider like above and buy a lower mileage engine, and do the work myself other than the head job. They are really not that bad to tear down. I would have done the work myself just didn't have the time to do it. Whichever way you go I wish you the best.
  3. I agree with above statements. Just keep an eye on it. If you have access to a pit or lift that would be great. I would consider doing heads when or if I started noticing antifreeze leaking from heads. Just my 2 cents.
  4. I agree all above. One question I ask did you use Oem axles or after market? My son-in-law is a service tech at our local Subaru dealer, and states they have a lot of trouble with vibrating aftermarket axles.
  5. Hello and welcome. If were to read my post from the last few days about my 88 gl sounds a whole lot like my problems. Mine would backfire, and want to stall and backfire under hood when I was at idle, then try to full throttle. Like you said. Slow throttle would be no problems. You might want to check the air flow valve, and the TPS. Both located on the throttle body. Good luck
  6. OK guy's here is was what was wrong. I put new Injector in, and had same results. So I found a used throttle body , and put my new injector in it, and wow runs like a new one. So only thing I can figure was one of two things either air control valve, or TPS sensor. Thanks for the info..
  7. Thanks for the in put, I'll do some more checking on the above, and keep you posted.
  8. Hey guy's a newbie here hoping for some help. I have a 1988 GL non-turbo and having problems with fuel response. The car starts fine Idles ok, not perfect. If sitting still, and floor the fuel petal it boggs down and sometimes stalls. If I apply fuel pedal slowly it will gain with no problems. My main issue is while driving or taking off from intersections I need full throttle response to get out in road, as now I cannot do that for it will miss, and want to stall. Like I said It's fine if I just slowly apply fuel pedal. Any HELP would be great.. I have replaced plugs, wires, dis cap. Also the timing is on. Thinking maybe the injector!!
