  1. Ok.... Cant be done right in the $500 range, what range would you guess id be at? Just for parts
  2. So im on about close to a $500 budget, ill do all work/labor myself so that's whatever, and ill get any special tools needed for the job. This car im planning on selling as soon as its fix. So i can't really change the pistons to the flat top ones or anything that reasonably dont need to be changed. That's why u was asking for a single kit or 2 kits, timing belt and headgasket. But it seems that the parts wont be in just one kit..
  3. I have a 99 outback with an ej25. Im going to do a headgasket and timing belt on this car. Im in California also. And im not "just put a ej22" in it. So my question is brands and or kit to get to do this. And the while im there stuff i should do that i might not think about.
  4. Ok i have finally gotten around to working on this car. The timing belt is broken, the water pump is frozen up. The themo, someone drilled holes in it.... It also didnt open up until i had a full boiling water. So im guessing that the themo was the original problem.
  5. Omg, lol. So ive got it all together. And so far the frist 500 miles ish... Its been great!
  6. I got the part number 614084 I got it from orallies though. Same number. It fits with some play. Not much though. Well see how it goes
  7. Good idea. Ill run to the hardware store tomorrow. The id on the exedy TOB in plastic so ill have to be careful
  8. @GeneralDisorder. You are very helpful. Ive read alot of older posts from other things of yours. Keep up the good work. So if i were to cut the id to 1.385" then ill be good to go? What would be the best, easiest, cheapest way for an at home kinda guy to do that? Or.... What about other options like a Toyota or Nissan TOB? I just really need this car back together already lol
  9. Not sure what clutch kit you are talking about. The kit i got from exedy didnt have an opinion to come with a sleeve or anything
  10. Also this car is in the 300k miles range. If the shaft was nice i dont see why someone would even sleeve it
  11. Thanks you guys for being so helpful. Let me know about that part number. At this point i would rather not cut it. The stainless steel sleeve is an upgrade. I would rather have the oversized TOB or mill the new TOB.
  12. Dam... Sounds like i have to make a run to auto zone... And now ill have an extra TOB for no reason.... Theres no point in me taking it off if i have to put an other one back on...
  13. Yea, i looked for exedy over sized TOB as well. Ok so the next thing, how hard is it to remove this sleeve. It doesn't have set screws
  14. I dont have a lathe.... I have a vise and a hand drill. Any ideas on how i can make this work?
  15. So i believe that there is a repair sleeve on this transmission... So now i have a new TOB (throw out bearing) that i cant use. And i have no idea out to pull off this sleeve. It is not like the repair sleeves ive looked up with the little screws on the sides. Its just pressed on or something. I found one repair kit with oversized TOB. But it was $160. The clutch kit was $230. Any idea if i sand down the inside of the TOB that i have to make it fit? Bad idea, or good idea? The sleeve thats on there now isnt in bad shape
  16. The throwout bearing is too small of the inside diameter to fit on to the input shaft sleeve? Do you think i simply got the wrong part from exedy? Or am i missing something?
  17. I found this old thread that has answered my question. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/111978-ej22-and-ej25-flywheels-the-same/
  18. So i when to put everything that i got together, put the new clutch in, put the motor back in and all that. 1st time for me....i didnt know that i needed to resurface my flywheel. So i cleaned it up myself and before i was going to take it to resurface it, i sew hair line cracks on it. I have a 92 legacy ej22 part car. And it had a lighter flywheel, looks a little bit different then the ej25 Flywheel just slightly. And the gear ring for the starter is in better shape. So my question is should i try to resurface the hairline crack ej25 Flywheel or resurface the "no cracks" ej22 out of the 92 legacy?
  19. When you say three bond are you talking about this part number? Nissan Part No.: 999MP1217HP THREEBOND 1217H
  20. Thank you for the fast reply. I had a hard time finding reviews for there brand gaskets.
  21. Would it be ok to use auto parts store brand gaskets and seals for stuff like oil pan, rear main seal, the little gasket things the cover the piston retainer clip things, or should i just order subaru brand only for these harder to reach gaskets?
